Happy Birthday Butterfly

I like this color combination and the elegance that the vellum brings to the card front. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Butterfly Basics

Paper:
   Blackberry Bliss A-2, 2-1/2 x 3-1/2
   Sahara Sand 5-1/4 x 4 (2)
   Vellum 1-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Mossy Meadow
   Blackberry Bliss

Technique:
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Butterfly Thinlits Dies
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   VersaMark
   Vellum Tape
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

First, I stamped my background images on the panel of Sahara Sand. The fern is stamped with Mossy Meadow. The postmark stamp used Blackberry Bliss. The beehive sections are stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento.

Next, I stamped my sentiment directly onto the vellum. I let it sit to dry. It was attached using vellum tape.

I then die cut my Blackberry Bliss butterfly. I adhered it using glue dots. I added Pearls to the center. Rhinestones could be substituted as well.

This Sahara Sand panel was then adhered to the Blackberry Bliss card front.

The other Sahara Sand panel was adhered to the inside of the card. I stamped a fern using VersaMark to the center of the panel. It created a lovely watermark. You may choose to change this panel to a Basic White panel if you like.

The sentiment on the vellum can also be switched to whatever you desire.

Pink Anniversary

Get inspired and use the supplies you have on hand. The watercolor wash in the background is actually a retired background stamp, but all you need is a brush, ink and paper to make your own.

Stamps:
   Butterfly Basics
   Number of Years
   Watercolor Wash

Paper:
   Old Olive A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Pink Pirouette

Markers:
   Melon Mambo
   Wild Washabi
   Daffodil Delight

Technique:
   Watercolor

Accessories:
   Aqua Painters
   Adhesive

The water color wash can be left off completely. I like the soft pink in the background, but the card would look lovely without it as well.

I chose a few of my favorite colors to use on the flower. Choose your favorites and make it your own.

Many Thanks

This flower is beautiful and looks great in any color. Stampin' Up! sold it with a coordinating punch. So, it is easy to stamp and punch it out, creating dimension on your card. Of course, the flower is easy enough to fussy cut with paper snips. Here is a lovely layout showcasing the flower in three beautiful colors.

Many Thanks
Stamps:
   Crazy About You
   Butterfly Basics

Paper:
   Island Indigo A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4, 3 x 8-1/2
   Always Artichoke Scraps

   Always Artichoke

Technique:
   Punching
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Flower Medallion Punch
   Sizzlits Little Leaves
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I stamped the background honeycombs using Creamy Caramel on the Whisper White background panel. I also stamped the line across the bottom using the same color.

I then stamped my flowers on the Whisper White strip: 3 x 8-1/2. One flower in each of the colors: Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, and Rich Razzleberry. I then punched them out using the Flower Medallion Punch.

I then die cut leaves with the Little Leaves die. I adhered one die cut leaf and stamped two leaves using Always Artichoke.

I attached the flowers using dimensionals, and I stamped the sentiment with Island Indigo.

This panel was then adhered to the Island Indigo card base.

I made a few more cards and changed the sentiments. Sentiments were pulled from Special Someone stamp set and Lovely You stamp set.

Sunflower Birthday OSW #12

This is card 12 of 14 using one sheet from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper Pack.

Stamps:
   Butterfly Basics
   Painted Harvest

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2
   Painted Autumn DSP 4 x 3/4 (3)
   Whisper White 2-1/4" Sq.

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Garden Green
   Peekaboo Peach
   Tangerine Tango
   Early Espresso

Technique:
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Starburst Framelits Dies
   Pumpkin Pie Corduroy Button Brad
   Large Pearl
   Glue Dot
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I stamped several ferns from the Butterfly Basics stamp set onto the Very Vanilla card front.

Next, I gathered the three strips of DSP and attached the Pumpkin Pie Corduroy Button Brad at one end. Make sure all the pieces are facing the same way.

Then I adhered the brad with the DSP to the bottom left corner of the card front. I spread the  DSP apart and adhered it to the card base. One strip went along the bottom, another went up along the left fold. The third piece went straight out in the middle.

I then added a sunflower with dimensionals. I adhered the large pearl to the center of the sunflower.

Lastly, I added the sentiment to the center top of the card.

Here is a video showing and explaining all 14 cards. I apologize in advance for my senior moments. I think you will get the "jest", I mean the gist of it.

Butterfly Garden

Imagine sitting outside, enjoying a slight breeze, and seeing beautiful butterflies fluttering around the flowers. Here is a springtime card sending all kinds of wishes your way.

Stamps:
   Butterfly Basics

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2
   Painted Blooms DSP 2-1/8 x 5-1/2

Ink:
   Blackberry Bliss
   Pacific Point
   Rose Red

Technique:
   Partial Die Cutting
   Stamp-Off

Accessories:
   Butterfly Thinlits Dies
   Rhinestones
   Adhesive

First, I die cut three butterflies from scratch paper to use as place holders.

Second, I measure 2-1/8 from the right side of the card front and draw a pencil line. This is where the DSP will be adhered later.

Third, I temporarily place my three butterflies where I will want them on the card. Note that the middle of the butterfly will be on the pencil line.

Fourth, I remove the top butterfly and replace it with the actual die cut. I use a bit of washi tape to keep it in place. I then place my card front with the die cut between my plates. It is placed so that the edge of the plates are resting on the middle of the butterfly. This places pressure for the cutting to occur only on half of the butterfly.

Fifth, repeat the fourth step two more times.

Sixth, stamp butterflies on the partial die cuts.

Seventh, lift up the right side of the butterflies and adhere the DSP underneath them on the card front.

Eight, stamp the sentiment and add embellishments.

If you are having trouble understanding the fourth step, check this TUTORIAL out.

Contact me with any questions. Let me know what you think.

Thank you for visiting.
