I Care

This card uses a 3-D butterfly. Once it is out of the envelope, you can lift the wings and stand the card up to display. The card is easy to assemble and is quite versatile. The sentiment can be switched to anything you need or desire. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Thoughts & Prayers

Paper:
   Sahara Sand A-2
Best Year Ever DSP 2-1/2" Circle
   Coastal Cabana 3-1/2 x 2-3/4

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   White Tea Lace Paper Doily
   Butterfly Thinlits Dies
   2-1/2" Circle Punch
   Glue Dots
   Basic Pearl Jewels

I punched out a 2-1/2" circle from the Best Year Ever DSP and adhered it to the center of the White Tea Lace Paper Doily.

I then glued this piece onto the Sahara Sand card base and trimmed the left edge to be flush with the card base. I kept the cut piece and used it on another card.

I die cut the butterfly and used glue dots to attach it to the card. I added 3 pearls to represent the body of the butterfly.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment on the bottom left side of the card.

Mother's Day

I made a floral wreath to celebrate Mother's Day. Springtime flowers are a perfect way to celebrate in May. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Circle of Spring
   Hardwood

Paper:
   Real Red A-2
   Mint Macaron 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White Scraps
   Real Red Scraps

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Mint Macaron

Markers:
   Real Red

   Pretty in Pink

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies
   White Tea Lace Paper Doily
   Sponge
   Adhesive

I started with the wreath. I stamped, die cut, and colored it with my markers. I then adhered it to the center of the white paper doily.

I then stamped and die cut the Real Red bow. I glued it on to the bottom center of the wreath.

I stamped the sentiment in the center of the paper doily. (Sentiment can be changed to whatever you need: birthday, get well, congrats, etc.)

Next, I stamped the Hardwood background: Mint Macaron ink on Mint Macaron cardstock. This panel was adhered to the Real Red card base.

The paper doily was then added to the center of the Mint Macaron wall.

You Did It

Not everyone is successful all of the time, but when you do rise to the occasion, CELEBRATE! Here is a card for the person who accomplishes a great milestone.

Stamps:
   Seize the Day
   Waterfront

Paper:
   Marina Mist A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Kiwi Kiss
   Marina Mist
   Basic Black

Marker:
   Basic Black

Technique:
   Stamp-Off

Accessories:
   Blender Pen
   Adhesive

I combined two stamp sets to create this scene. I stamped twice, sometimes three times before inking my stamp again. This gave me the various shades of the same color and adds dimension to my scene.

The mountains and land are all stamped using Kiwi Kiss.

The water is stamped in Marina Mist.

I used my Basic Black marker to color the hiker and the deer. I inked up my stamp with Kiwi Kiss or Marina Mist and then removed the ink with my blender pen on hiker and deer. I then colored them in with my Basic Black marker and stamped the image. Don't forget to breathe on it to moisten the ink before stamping.

Inky Wipes

I used distress inks on glossy paper for this card. I really like the results. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Healing Hugs

Paper:
   Regal Rose A-2
   Glossy or Photo Paper 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Distress Oxides

Technique:
   Baby Wipes

Accessories:
   Ribbon
   Silver Rose
   Adhesive

This technique called for distress oxide inks. Unfortunately, all I had were distress inks. The oxides should give you a more vibrant look. Still, here is what I did for my card.

I stamped some ink on my mat. Spritzed a bit of water on it and picked it up with my glossy paper.

I did this for each color and allowed the paper to dry before adding another color. Doing this keeps the color separate and allows them to layer on top of each other instead of blending together to create a new color.

Once all the colors were added, I allowed the panel to dry completely. I then stamped my sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento.

Next, I carefully wiped the entire panel with a baby wipe. This brings out the color a bit more as the ink reacts to the baby wipe solution. Too much liquid may cause the ink to smear, so you do want to be careful.

I will try this again, as soon as I am able to purchase some oxide inks.

Thank you so much for dropping by and taking a peek. I appreciate your time and would love to hear what you think. So please share, like, pin, tweet and comment. Contact Me if you have any questions or need my assistance.

Checkered Life

Stamping wheels are a thing of the past. I have no idea if they will resurface, but I have several, and I intend to continue to use them until one of us goes flat. I used one of my wheels to make this background. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Friendly Expressions
   Checkered Wheel

Paper:
   Highland Heather A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4, 1-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Highland Heather
   Gorgeous Grape
   Blackberry Bliss
   Concord Crush

Technique:
   Wheel Guide

Accessories:
   Wheel Guide
   Brads
   Adhesive

I used the wheel guide to make sure the wheel rolled in a straight line. I started with the lightest color and worked my way down adding the colors in the order listed above.

I stamped the sentiment with Concord Crush on a strip of Whisper White and then trimmed the sides. I adhered it with adhesive.

I then attached the brads and adhered the panel onto the card base.

People ask me: How do you decide what to make? My answer is simple: It depends. If I just bought a new stamp set, I might want to make a card to use that stamp set. Or, maybe I need a birthday card, or a get well card. Maybe, I just bought a new tool that I can't wait to use, or I just saw a You Tube video that inspired me. There are countless reasons to create, but my all time favorite reason is: I want to play and have some FUN!

One of the fabulous things about Stampin' Up! is that their products coordinate with each other. If I am going to use designer series paper on my project, I look at the colors that are there and use items with those colors.

So, I stamped my image and colored it with the colors found on the DSP. I sponged the Whisper White with Watermelon Wonder and attached them with dimensionals.

Let's Celebrate

Using watercolor as a medium will aways yield a unique card. No matter what pigments and paper you choose to use, water is the key to originality. Its fluid state allows for the colors to appear transparent or concentrated. I used Brusho powder on the following card.

Stamps:
   Amazing You

Paper:
   Tranquil Tide A-2
   Basic Black 5-1/4 x 4
   Glossy White 5 x 3-3/4, Scraps

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Brusho Crystal Colour:
   Moss Green
   Yellow
   Gamboge
   Prussian Blue
   Brilliant Red

Technique:
   Watercolor

Accessories:
   Water Mister
   Dimensionals
   Clear Faceted Gems
   Adhesive
   Paper Snips

I first slightly misted my glossy white panel.

I then began to sprinkle Brusho powder onto the surface. Only one or two colors at a time. I did my best to not place colors on top of each other. I sprayed more water, tilting my paper and dabbing with a paper towel if needed.

I made a couple of panels at the same time. Sprinkling brusho powder, spraying with water, tilting the paper, and dabbing with a paper towel, until I was happy with the result.

I then set these aside to dry. The color may change a bit after it dries.

I then stamped directly onto the panel using Archival Basic Black ink. I stamped flowers on the other panel and fussy cut one of them. I attached it using dimensionals to make one of the flowers pop.

I added the clear faceted gems and adhered the glossy panel onto the Basic Black and then onto the Tranquil Tide card base.

Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek. Contact Me if you have any questions or need my assistance.

The Graduate

Get personal and change the colors on this card to match the graduate's school colors.

Stamps:
   Year After Year
   All Year Cheer III
   Sanded

Paper:
   Really Rust A-2, 2-1/4 x 2, Scrap
   Basic Black 5-1/4 x 4, 2-3/4 x 2-1/2
   Whisper White 5 x 3-3/4, 2-1/2 x 2-1/4

Ink:
   Black StazOn
   Really Rust
   VersaMark
   White Gel Pen

Technique:
   Heat Embossing
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Black Embossing Powder
   Gold Brads
   Dimensionals
   Sponge
   Adhesive
   Embossing Buddy
   Scallop Punch

The sentiment is heat embossed. So, I took a Really Rust scrap and powdered it with my embossing buddy. Then, I stamped it with VersaMark and applied Black embossing powder. I heat set it and left it to cool for a bit. I then punched it out with my scallop punch. Applied the white gel pen dots. When it was time to assemble it was attached with two gold brads.

Next, I worked on the three pieces with the cap. I stamped the cap on the Really Rust piece using StazOn ink. I outlined it using the white gel pen. I then took the Whisper White piece and sponged it with Really Rust. I adhered the Really Rust onto the Whisper White and then onto the Basic Black. I pierced a gold brad through these three pieces to make sure they stayed together. The gold brad is the top of the cap. I then added the White gel pen dots around the Black square.

I stamped the Whisper White panel using the Sanded Background stamp and Really Rust ink. This was then adhered onto the Basic Black panel and then onto the Really Rust card base.

The cap squares were added using dimensionals. The sentiment can be added with the gold brads, adhesive, or dimensionals. All of these work.

Meerly Birthday Cards

Although the inside of my cards are usually blank, there are images that fit nicely inside. Take a look for yourself:

All of the following cards show these meerkats smiling together. Perfect when a card is being sent "from all of us."

Here is the front of this card:

Meerly a Birthday #2

Stamps:
   The Gang's All Meer

Paper:
   Soft Sky A-2
   Basic Black 5-3/8 x 4-1/8, Scraps
   Irresistibly Yours DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4, Scraps

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Soft Sky

Watercolor Pencils:
   Early Espresso
   Whisper White
   Basic Gray

Technique:
   Watercolor
   Die Cutting
   Fussy Cutting

Accessories:
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Well Written Framelits Dies
   Water Painters
   Blender Pens
   Fine Tip Glue Pen
   Adhesive
   Dimensionals
   Paper Snips

First, I watercolored the Irresistibly Yours DSP panel using Soft Sky ink. Once it dried, I wiped it down with a paper towel, adhered it to the Basic Black panel and glued it onto the card base.

I stamped several meerkats on scraps of Whisper White. I colored them with watercolor pencils and used the blender pen to blend and enrich the color. I then fussy cut them and attached them with dimensionals.

The sentiment was die cut using the Well Written Framelits Dies and scraps of Basic Black. These were adhered using the Fine Tip Glue Pen.

I added a few rhinestones for balance and bling.

I made three cards using the same ingredients. I did change the ink color of the background and the card base was changed to match it. Everything else was constant. So, card #2 above used Soft Sky, card #3 used Daffodil Delight, and card #4 used Smoky Slate.

Meerly a Birthday #1

Although the inside of my cards are usually blank, there are images that fit nicely inside. Here is the card front:

Stamps:
   The Gang's All Meer
   Woven Heirlooms

Paper:
   Sahara Sand A-2
   Basic Black 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Irresistibly Yours DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Woven Threads DSP 3-1/8 x 2-1/8 Oval
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Groovy Guava

Watercolor Pencils:
   Early Espresso
   Whisper White
   Basic Gray

Technique:
   Watercolor
   Die Cutting
   Fussy Cutting

Accessories:
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Heirloom Frames Dies
   Blender Pen
   Water Painters
   Paper Snips
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

Inside of Meerly a Birthday #1

I started by watercoloring the Irresistibly Yours DSP panel using Groovy Guava ink. The DSP has an embossed resist pattern of leaves. So, applying color is quite easy. Once the panel dried, I cleaned it up with a paper towel. I adhered it to the Basic Black panel and set it aside.

Next, I stamped the three meerkats for the front of the card. I stamped them on scraps of Whisper White cardstock. I colored them using the water color pencils. I then went over them with a blender pen which really brings out the color: the solution in the blender pen is just the right amount of liquid needed.  Then, I fussy cut them and attached them with dimensionals.

The oval with the sentiment is a leftover piece of Woven Threads DSP. It was the center of the Heirloom Frames Oval Die Cut. I never throw anything away, and I think it fit nicely here. I added rhinestones to the top and bottom for a bit of balance.

This panel was then adhered to the Sahara Sand card base.

The Whisper White panel for the inside was stamped and colored with watercolor pencils. I used a blender pen on the image and then adhered it to the inside of the card.

These little guys are so cute, you can't help but smile. The fussy cutting can take a bit of time to get done, but I find it quite relaxing.

Six Balloons

Balloons are a favorite among children and a few adults, especially the ones who act like children. Just kidding. Everyone enjoys balloons, it's just that children tend to get more excited over them. They usually can't wait to pop them! Birthday balloons seem to be the top favorite among everyone.

Stamps:
   Balloon Celebration

Paper:
   Pool Party A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4, Scraps

Ink:
   Pool Party
   Flirty Flamingo
   Daffodil Delight
   Early Espresso

Technique:
   2-Step Stamping
   Punching

Accessories:
   Balloon Bouquet Punch
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

The balloon string, bow, and sentiment are stamped directly onto the Whisper White panel.

The balloons were stamped on scraps of Whisper White cardstock, punched out, and then attached to the Whisper White panel, using adhesive and dimensionals.

I attached the large Pool Party and Flirty Flamingo balloons first.

I then added the small Flirty Flamingo balloon using adhesive.

I added the large Daffodil Delight balloon also with adhesive.

The last two balloons on the right were adhered with dimensionals.

Fearless Rose

A sincere message for the one who needs encouragement and strength. This is a wonderful passage to send out to those suffering with COVID-19. This virus will continue to make its rounds, but we must remember that we are not alone.

Stamps:
   Rose Wonder
   Fifth Avenue Floral

Paper:
   Real Red A-2
   Basic Black 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Melon Mambo
   Rich Razzleberry

Markers/Blends:
   Cherry Cobbler

Technique:
   Masking

Accessories:
   Adhesive

Create your own mask of the rose by stamping on a scrap of cardstock and cutting it out. Apply a temporary adhesive to the back of it. Keep this mask with your stamp set for future use.

First, I stamped my rose on my card. I then covered it with the mask I made.

Next, I randomly stamped the flowers around the rose using Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry.

I then stamped the sentiment. It is best to use a tool that will allow you to stamp several times on the same spot. This way, your passage will be bold and beautiful. Use a Stamparatus, MISTI, or Stamp-a-ma-jig.

I then removed the mask from the rose and colored it using my Cherry Cobbler blendabilities. Markers or blends will work great.

I then adhered the stamped Whisper White panel onto the Basic Black panel. This was then attached to the Real Red card base.

Framed Dandelions

Laser-Cut panels can stand alone on a card. Embellishments can be added for some extra attention, but they are not a necessity. I did add a couple of sparkles on this laser-cut panel. What do you think about the bling on the card?

Stamps:
   Many Mates

Paper:
   Very Vanilla 7 x 6 scored at 3-1/2
   Artistry Blooms DSP 3-1/2 x 6
   Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut DSP 3-1/2 x 5

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Flowers for Every Season Gems
   2020-2022 In-Color Enamel Dots
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive
   Stamparatus/MISTI

This size card will fit a regular letter size envelope.

First I adhered the Artistry Blooms DSP to the Very Vanilla card front. This covered the entire front of the card.

Then I glued the Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut DSP panel to the front, making sure the top and sides of the panel were flush with the card base.

I then stamped my sentiment, centering it on the bottom.

I decided to add a bit of sparkle, so I added the gems and enamel dots using some glue dots.
