OSW Yields 13 Poppy Cards

If you spend your money on beautiful paper, you should use it ALL. Here are 13 cards I created from one 12 x 12 Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper.

If you like what you see, read on...

I began with this one 12 x 12 sheet:

Before you begin to cut, you should always make sure that your paper is facing the right way. Sometimes, it doesn't matter, especially with an abstract design, but sometimes it DOES matter.

Here is the template I used to cut my sheet. The number in pink refers to the card number.

I did turn my sheet sideways and cut at the 5-1/2 mark and the 5-1/4 mark. This left me with the strip in the middle. I then cut the large panels at 4", yielding 6 panels. I then played with each panel to get more than one card out of a few.

Each card is blogged separately with its details. Here is a quick peek at each one with its name for reference.

  1. I found your blog after looking at one of your poppy cards on SCS-it was beautiful! I followed it here and hit the jackpot with all of these gorgeous poppy cards! Thank you so much! I purchased the entire kit and kaboodle but haven't used it yet, and I think today is the day. You are very creative and thank you for all your time sharing your creations with us!!!-Stacy

    1. Thank you Stacy for your wonderful comments. I also bought all of the "kit and kaboodle" bundle and decided to create with only those items. So, often I buy it all and then move on to something else, while it all (kit & kaboodle) sits there. So minus the magic mesh it is all from the bundle. Glad to hear you were inspired.

  3. I totally agree when we spend so much for a gorgeous DP we should use the whole piece. These are amazing! I have a few DPs that I fear cutting in to them that I might now use the whole piece. I should look for some WSW to cut in to them for a stack of cards. Thank you for the inspiration.

    1. So excited to know that you have been inspired. Sometimes, it is hard to cut into some of the papers. I tell myself, I want to use it whole on a scrapbook page, but the reality is that I don't want to cover it up with pictures either. So, I have to cut into it. After all, that is why I bought it. LOL! Good Luck, Lisa. I know you do find use for all of your crafty items, bought or gifted. Thank you for commenting.
