Springy Butterfly

This is a great card to demonstrate dry embossing, die cutting, and stamping on vellum. You can always heat emboss as well, if you like. Thoughts?

Springy Butterfly

Stamps:
   A Dozen Thoughts

Paper:
   Tempting Turquoise A-2
   Pretty in Pink 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 5 x 3-3/4, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)
   Flowers for You DSP 3-1/2 x 2-1/2
   Vellum 1-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Jet Black Staz On

Technique:
   Dry Embossing
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Swirls Embossing Folder (Cuttle Bug)
   Butterflies Thinlits Dies
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Tempting Turquoise Ribbon 4"
   Vellum Tape
   Glue Dots
   Stampin' Seal+
   Adhesive

First, I die cut the butterfly in the top-center of the Basic White panel (5 x 3-3/4), using the Butterflies Thinlits.

I then dry embossed the panel, using the Swirls Embossing Folder.

Turning the panel over, I applied liquid adhesive around the edge of the butterfly cut out and adhered the Flowers for You DSP. I made sure the DSP was facing the right way.

Next, I adhered this panel onto the Pretty in Pink panel.

I then stamped my sentiment, in the center of the vellum strip, using Staz On ink and left it alone for a minute to dry.

Next, I adhered the ribbon onto the lower part of the panel. I used Stampin' Seal+ on the back of the ribbon to keep it in place. I trimmed off the edges so that the ribbon was flush with the panel.

Using vellum adhesive, I adhered the vellum panel over the ribbon, making sure the sentiment fell on top of the ribbon.

I then used glue dots on the back of the butterfly and adhered it in place. Only the body of the butterfly was glued down. The wings were left to be pulled up when it was out of the envelope, giving it a 3D look as shown above.

Lastly, I added pearls to the body of the butterfly and adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Here are two other cards I made, using a different sentiment:

Spread Your Wings

I used a die cut as a stencil to create a butterfly on my card front. It's great to celebrate with fun, bright colors. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Perfectly Penned

Paper:
   Melon Mambo A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Markers:
   Elegant Eggplant
   Sweet Sugarplum
   Tempting Turquoise
   Daffodil Delight
   Pumpkin Pie
   Watermelon Wonder
   Melon Mambo
   Rose Red

Technique:
   Stencilling with Mixed Media

Accessories:
   Butterflies Thinlits Dies
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Adhesive

First, I die cut my stencil using the Butterflies Thinlits Dies. I chose this die because it was large and intricate.

I then placed it on my Whisper White panel. I used a bit of washi tape to hold it in place. I then colored in the stencil using various markers.

Next, I stamped my sentiment above the butterfly.

I adhered this panel to the Melon Mambo card front and added rhinestones for the butterfly's body. I also adhered the other Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.
