The Gang

Sheltering at home (Shelter in Place) has opened up our eyes. Many have come to realize how much they do depend and rely on others. Although technology is helping us to stay connected visually, many are missing the physical connection. Here is a card from us to you:

Stamps:
   The Gang's All Meer

Paper:
   Basic Gray A-2
   Cerise DSP 3-1/2 x 1-1/2 (2)
   Very Vanilla 2-1/2" Sq., 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Watercolor Pencils:
   Basic Gray
   Whisper White

Technique:
   CAS
   Watercolor

Accessories:
   Blender Pen
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

This is a clean and simple card. I stamped the image and colored it with my watercolor pencils. I then used the blender pen to blend the color.

I cut a couple of strips of Cerise DSP and adhered them to the Basic Gray card base.

I attached the image with dimensionals.

Thank you so much for stopping by here and taking a quick peek.

Remember to reach out and let those you love know that you are always there.

Coastal Cabana/Cherry Cobbler Blended Bloom

Stampin' Blends will make everyone feel like an artist in residence. Color with these babies and your efforts will look and feel like a professional artist. It's like magic. Here is my Blended Bloom using Coastal Cabana.

Stamps:
   Blended Bloom
   Bring on the Cake

Paper:
   Coastal Cabana A-2
   Cherry Cobbler A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Coastal Cabana Stampin' Blends
   Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends
   Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends

Technique:
   CAS
   Blending

Accessories:
   Adhesive

Whatever color you choose as a card base is the color for your bloom.

I took the Dark blend and outlined my image, more or less.

Then I took the Light blend and colored all of it, filling in the white space on the bloom and blending the two shades.

I applied Daffodil Delight blends to the center of the bloom.

Here is the Cherry Cobbler Blended Bloom:

Of course the sentiment can be changed to suit your needs.

A Mambo Kind of Day

Do you ever have one of those days where you just want to sit outside and enjoy the breeze? I call this, "A Mambo Kind of Day." With the COVID-19 virus spreading and everyone sheltering at home, we may have to just step outside in the backyard for a minute or two. Don't forget your favorite drink? We must all stay hydrated!

Stamps:
   Too Kind

Paper:
   Melon Mambo A-2
   Whisper White 3-1/4 x 4
   Raspberry Lemonade DSP 2 x 4

Ink:
   Daffodil Delight
   Crushed Curry
   Melon Mambo
   Old Olive

Technique:
   2-Step Stamping
   Sponging
   Dry Embossing

Accessories:
   Beautiful Wings Embossilites
   Color Me Autumn Washi Tape
   Sponge
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

I know my card seems a bit blurry, but if you sip a little "red or white juice" it will come into focus. 😉

First, I sponged the Whisper White cardstock with Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo.

I then stamped the flowers (Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry), stems (Old Olive), and sentiment (Melon Mambo).

I then adhered this piece to the top portion of the Melon Mambo card base.

Next, I adhered the Raspberry Lemonade DSP to the bottom half of the Melon Mambo card base.

I added the Color Me Autumn Washi Tape over the seam and trimmed it at the ends.

Lastly, I added the butterflies with glue dots.

I hope you stay healthy and enjoy many Mambo Kind of Days.

Christmas Snowflake

Don't you just love the glimmer and sparkle of Christmas? This snowflake was made using the Snowflake Thinlits Die that has been retired from Stampin' Up! So, why include it? Take a look.

Stamps:
   Letterpress Winter

Paper:
   Real Red 5-1/2 x 5-13/16
   Champagne Glitter Paper
   Christmas DSP 1-1/2 x 9

Ink:
   Real Red
   Basic Black

Technique:
   Flip/Flop Swing Card
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Snowflake Thinlits Dies
   Glue Dots

I include this card because I continue to use items long after Stampin' Up! retires or discontinues them. So, until they break or run out, you can check my blog for the old mixed in with the new. Click on the follow or subscribe button and you will not miss any of the entries.

First, I ran the Real Red card stock through the die cutting machine using the Snowflake Thinlits Dies.

I then used Real Red ink to randomly stamp snowflakes on the Real Red card: tone on tone stamping.

I also stamped the large snowflake on the snowflake cut out.

Die cut a snowflake out of the Champagne Glitter Paper. Adhered it with glue dots onto the card.

A greeting or sentiment can be stamped on the inside of the card. Merry Christmas is what I stamped.

Used a coordinating strip of Christmas DSP and created a belly band. Adhered the ends with glue dots.

Doily Birthday

Doilies are beautiful in design and may be presented at any time of the year for just about any occasion. Here is a die cut doily presented for a birthday.

Stamps:
   Wetlands

Paper:
   Kraft A-2
   Night of Navy 4-1/4 x 4-1/8
   Real Red 4-1/2" Sq.
   Whisper White Scrap

Ink:
   Night of Navy

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Punching

Accessories:
   Large Paper Doily Die
   Red Rhinestone Brad
Real Red Polka Dot Ribbon 5" (Trim it)
   Oval Punch
   Scallop Oval Punch
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

As you can see, the doily is large and takes up most of the card. Another idea would be to cut the doily in half and make two cards using one die cut.

Either way, you do want to create a tight sandwich to get a clean cut.

The doily and ribbon were adhered using liquid glue, but I did use dimensionals to attach the sentiment.

Sentiment and colors can be switched to suit your present needs.

Birthday Bee

Make a card in five minutes or less. When I make a Clean And Simple (CAS) card I use a basic formula: Stamps, Paper, and Ink. I can always add a bit of flair with DSP or an embellishment of some sort. What do you think of this CAS card?

Stamps:
   Happy Birthday to You
I'll Bee Yours (Paper Pumpkin 1/20)

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2
Golden Honey DSP 4-1/4 x 4 (Tear Edge)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Adhesive

First, I cut my DSP and tore a little bit from the top to create that torn edge.

Next, I took my Whisper White card base and stamped my sentiment and bees around it.

I then adhered the DSP to the card base, making sure the bottom and the sides lined up nicely.

Card is finished. In hindsight, I would have stamped fewer bees around the sentiment so that it can stand out a bit more.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a peek. Leave your thoughts behind. I would love to hear what you think.

Birthday Wreath

Let the Designer Series Paper (DSP) do the work for you. Use one of each: stamp, cardstock, DSP, and ink. Adhere cardstock and DSP together, and...Voila! You have a card!

Stamps:
   Sending You Thoughts

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2
   Pressed Petals DSP 5-1/2 x 4-1/4

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   CAS (Clean And Simple)

Accessories:
   Adhesive
   Stamparatus/MISTI

I cut the DSP to the same size as the card front. So, I used Whisper White as my card base. If you would like to create a mat around your DSP then cut it at 5-1/4 x 4 and center it on your card base.

With this simple formula: Stamps, Ink, Paper, and DSP, you can change any one of them to make a totally different card to suit your needs. Do not be afraid to use up what you have on hand.

Thank you for stopping by here. Let me know what you think or leave your questions behind. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Day After Day

Who is by your side day after day, year after year? I do hope it is someone you like! Here is a card to let that someone know how special they are to you.

Stamps:
   In the Meadow

Paper:
   Wild Wasabi A-2
   Creamy Caramel 2 x 5
   Bordering Blue 3 x 2-1/4
   Whisper White 2-3/4 x 2-1/4

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Stampin' Up! Chalk Pastels

Technique:
   Punching
   Chalks

Accessories:
   Banner Triple Punch
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

This card allows you to go back through your stash and pull out those forgotten colors and supplies.

I used a cotton swab to apply my chalks onto the image. I like the soft subtle colors.

I also like that this card can be converted to an all occasion card, simply by deleting the sentiment.

Thank you for being here. Let me know what you think. One week left for Sale-A-Bration, so don't forget to click on the Shop Now button above.

Congratulatory Flower

Congratulations calls for bold bright colors. So, I die cut a circle from one of my coloring pages. I then cut it in half and off set it with a congratulations strip placed diagonally between them. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Sending You Thoughts

Paper:
   Blueberry Bushel A-2
Coloring Page 2-3/4" Circle (Cut in half)
Whisper White 1/2 x 4-3/4 (Trim to fit)

Ink:
   Blueberry Bushel

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Stamp Off
   CAS

Accessories:
   Layering Circles Framelits Dies
   Adhesive

The colored image in the circle can be any image that you have on hand. Maybe an image representing the reason for the congratulatory card.

Thank you for dropping by and taking a peek.

Bunny Hugs

COVID-19 has hopped its way from China to the USA. We are all having to practice social-distancing, and our society as we know it is undergoing massive change. Here is a clean and simple card to send to anyone who is not feeling well at the moment. Go ahead and snail-mail someone special.

Stamps:
   So Sentimental
   Nature's Beauty

Paper:
   Balmy Blue A-2
   Purple Posy 2-1/4 x 3-1/4
   Soft Sea Foam 1-1/2 x 2

Ink:
   Highland Heather

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Dry Embossing

Accessories:
   Coastal Weave 3-D Embossing Folder
   Stitched So Sweetly Dies
   Gingham Gala Sequins
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

The bunny is stamped on a Soft Sea Foam card stock. So, it has a greenish tint to it, not this yellowish tint. The bunny is adhered with dimensionals.

You do want to spritz your card stock with a bit of water before running it through your die cutting machine. This will loosen the paper fibers and prevent tearing.

Thank you so much for stopping by here. Please leave your thoughts and questions.

Stay healthy everyone. Spend your time alone creating a card for someone. Click on Shop Now above if you need supplies.

Hello Pearl

It is time to say, "Hello, Spring." All of the kids are out for spring break, but no one is really getting a break. You need to stay away from everyone and seclude yourself in order to stay healthy. So, wonderful. I will craft and say hello with paper.

Stamps:
   Free as a Bird

Paper:
   Crumb Cake A-2, 2-1/4" Circle
   Petal Pink 1-1/2" Circle
   Daffodil Delight 1" Circle
   Bird Ballad DSP 5-1/4 x 2-5/8, 5-1/4 x 1-3/8, 4 x 1/2

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
Markers:
   Petal Pink
   Calypso Coral
   Pumpkin Pie
   Daffodil Delight
   Crumb Cake
   Sahara Sand

Technique:
   Punching

Accessories:
   2-1/4", 1-1/2", 1" Circle Punches
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Adhesive

I took a 5-1/4 x 4 piece of the Bird Ballad DSP and cut a strip on the right hand side. I then turned the smaller strip over and used the back side of it. You do not need to measure exactly for this if you start with a whole panel.

As the world comes to a slow halt, take the time to think, evaluate, and learn from your experience...and of course CRAFT!

Thank you for dropping by for a minute or two. Let me know your thoughts.
