Underwater

This underwater scene extends all the way to the back of the card. I stamped and colored the images directly onto the card base. You could have more fun and create bubbles, ocean water, swimming fish etc. Basically, you can get as elaborate as you like.

Stamps:
   Magical Mermaid
   Itty Bitty Greetings
   Sea of Texture

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Crumb Cake
   Garden Green
   Merry Merlot
   Mossy Meadow
   Old Olive
   Pretty Peacock

Technique:
   Panoramic Scene: Front & Back

Accessories:
Gold & Clear Wink of Stella

Basically, I cut my A-2 Whisper White panel and stamped the whole scene, including the sentiment.

I then colored the mermaid and added gold and clear Wink of Stella for a bit of glimmer.

Lastly, I folded the card in half.

Happy Birthday Swirls

Although this is a busy birthday card, the main focus is on the sentiment: Happy Birthday. This is why I nested it in the center of the card. I added Gold Wink of Stella around it, but it does not glimmer in the picture as it does in real life. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Swirly Bird
   Crazy About You

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2, 3-1/2 x 4
   All ABloom DSP 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Daffodil Delight
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Candy Dots
   Stacked with Love Washi Tape
   Gold Wink of Stella
   Glitter Flower
   Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies
   Deco Labels Collection
   Dimensionals
   Sponge
   Adhesive

I did use quite a bit of accessories, but they are all to draw attention to the sentiment. What would you do? I think this card needs help.

Awesome Shoes

Sometimes we need to give someone a pat on the back. This is just the card to remind them how great they are. I like the image of shoes for this sentiment because sometimes there are people whose shoes are too big to fill. Don't you agree?

Stamps:
   Epic Celebrations

Paper:
   Tangerine Tango A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2), 1 x 3

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Always Artichoke
   Pacific Point
   Elegant Eggplant
   Rose Red
   Tangerine Tango
   Tempting Turquoise

Technique:
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Triple Banner Punch
   Brights Candy Dots
   Sponge
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

I listed the ink colors in the order that I applied them, starting with Always Artichoke and ending with Tempting Turquoise.

The sentiment was stamped using Archival Basic Black and sponged with Tangerine Tango.

Note that I left the shoes without color on them. I wanted the focus to be on the sentiment rather than the Converse shoes. This is the joy of making your own cards. You are in control.

Salty Lake

Salt adds flavor to your food and a unique look to your cards. I used rock salt for my salted background technique. The salt creates a speckled look on your card. The size of the splotches will be determined by the salt that you use. Large, coarse salt will yield big blotches whereas small, fine salt will give you smaller blotches. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Peaceful Place
   Kindness & Compassion

Paper:
   Seaside Spray A-2
   Glossy White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Mango Melody
   Terracotta Tile
   Seaside Spray
   Highland Heather

Technique:
   Salted Background

Accessories:
   Rock Salt
   Stamparatus/MISTI/Stamp-a-ma-jig
   Adhesive

I first applied the Salted Background Technique on my glossy white panel. You can see a you tube video for it at: Salted Background

Once my background was dry and wiped clean, I used my Stamparatus to stamp my image and my sentiment. You can use any tool that will allow you to stamp several times to get a good impression on your panel.

I then adhered the glossy white panel to the card base. Of course the sentiment can be changed to suit your needs.

Children Playing

This card was inspired by four challenges from Split Coast Stampers: Sketch Challenge #804, Color Challenge #814, Alphabet Challenge for Letter C, and a Free for All Challenge #557. Split Coast Stampers is a community that inspires, challenges, and supports paper crafters. There is a link in the right sidebar if you want to take a look. Anyway, this is my card.

Stamps:
   Silhouette Scenes

Paper:
   Shaded Spruce A-2, 5/15 x 3-3/4
   Whisper White 5 x 3-3/4, 5-1/4 x 4
   Bumblebee 5/16 x 3-3/4
   Pretty Peacock 5/16 x 3-3/4
Flowers for Every Season DSP 1-1/2" Circle, 1-3/4" Circle, 1" Circle

Ink:
   Pretty Peacock

Technique:
   Punching

Accessories:
   1" Circle Punch
   1-1/2" Circle Punch
   1-3/4" Circle Punch
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

This is the Sketch Challenge #804:

The color challenge #814 called for Bumblebee, Pretty Peacock, and Shaded Spruce. Whisper White is a neutral color and is allowed as well.

The Alphabet Challenge centered on Children as a theme for Letter C.

Lastly, the Free for All Challenge #557, called for a card inspired by a song of our choice. I chose a Cat Stevens song: Where Do the Children Play?

The circles were attached using dimensionals. Everything else was adhered with adhesive.

Highland Poppies

Watercoloring does not have to be difficult. I found that if I added color on a clear block, sprayed it with a bit of water, and then smashed it onto a watercolor panel it looked wonderful! Of course, this is my opinion. I let it dry. Then I stamped directly onto it. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Painted Poppies
   Lovely You

Paper:
   Rococo Rose A-2
   Watercolor Paper 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Rococo Rose
   Highland Heather
   Pear Pizzazz
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   Clear Block Stamping "E"

Accessories:
   Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins
   Water Spritzer (Mister)
   Shimmery Crystal Effects
   Adhesive

I added some shimmery crystal effects to a few of the poppies. I did not like the effect on this card. I think it just made a black spot. This is probably because I did not add color to the poppies, so it accented the black ink. I will have to play some more with this and get back to all of you. I have used crystal effects before, and it created a gel like dome.

Buttons

Three is a magical number: 3 buttons, 3 flowers, 3 colors...just because. Don't even get me started with the significance of 3 and religion. Although, in sports, 3 strikes and you are OUT! So, what do you think?

Stamps:
   Doodle This
   And Many More

Paper:
   Bumblebee A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Markers:
   Bumblebee
   Pretty Peacock
   Cherry Cobbler

Technique:
   None

Accessories:
   SU Buttons
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

Like many of my cards, the sentiment can be changed to suit your needs, or it can be left off completely.

The colors can also be changed to coincide with your accessories or your personal taste.

What I most enjoyed about creating this card is that your coloring does not need to be precise. After all, the name of the stamp set is, Doodle This.

Halloween Scarecrow

I make cards all year long for all of the major categories, usually whenever the mood strikes me. For this card, I was challenged to make a card with a scarecrow on it. This is what I conjured up using my supplies. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Cookie-Cutter Halloween
   Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper:
   Old Olive A-2
   Halloween Night DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4, 5/8 x 2-1/4, 2-1/2 Sq.
   Basic Black 3/4 x 2-1/2

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Real Red
   Pumpkin Pie

Markers:
   Mango Melody
   Old Olive
   Pumpkin Pie
   Real Red

Technique:
   Punching
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Cookie-Cutter Punch
   Lovely Labels Pick a Punch
   Brights Candy Dots
   Sponge
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive
   Paper Pumpkin Left-over Tag

I first stamped, punched, and colored my scarecrow. This was my main focus, since I was challenged to include one on my card.

Next, I chose my card base and adhered a panel of DSP on it.

I then attached the scarecrow using dimensionals.

I stamped the black crow.

I found a left-over tag from my Paper Pumpkin supplies. I stamped and sponged it. I adhered it to a Basic Black piece and attached it using dimensionals.

Lastly, I adhered the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Just Magnolias

Beautiful printed paper should never be hidden. I have been going through my stacks of designer series paper and have found quite a few that I have not wanted to cut. They are so beautiful, they can stand alone on a card. Still, they should be enjoyed and awed by everyone. Plus, I need to stop hoarding these supplies! How many of you also hoard your paper? Come clean and cut, cut, cut.

Stamps:
   Dozen Thoughts (A)

Paper:
   Petal Pink A-2, 1/2 x 4
   Magnolia Lane DSP 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Mossy Meadow

Technique:
   None

Accessories:
   Pink Brads
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Adhesive

Of course, the sentiment can be changed to suit your needs. You can also leave it off completely, creating an All Occasions card.

The rhinestones can be switched to pearls or left off completely.

Just Madness

Here is one when you just want to send a card and make someone smile. Image receiving an envelope that is clearly not a bill or junk mail. You carefully open it and see this card. Immediately, your reaction is to smile. If not, go see a doctor, something is wrong with you. For the rest of you, spread joy and happiness. Why? Just Because...

Stamps:
   Lovely You

Paper:
   Shaded Spruce A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2), 3/4 x 2-3/4
Flowers for Every Season DSP 1 x 3

Ink:
   Shaded Spruce
   Just Jade
   Magenta Madness

Markers:
   Just Jade
   Magenta Madness

Technique:
   Punching

Accessories:
   Lovely Labels Pick a Punch
   2020-2022 In-Color Enamel Dots
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

The leaves are stamped twice before re-inking. This created the two tones of Just Jade.

The flower with the stem attached is inked with markers and then stamped on the Whisper White panel. Always remember to breathe on the stamp before applying it to paper. This will moisten the ink.

The single flower is inked using the ink pad. This gives it a bit of a darker impression.
