Fish in the Sea Again

I needed a masculine birthday card and made this clean and simple one. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   By the Tide
   Four You

Paper:
   Mint Macaron A-2
   Adventure Bound DSP 4-1/4" Sq.
   Basic White Scraps, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Markers:
Copic - Various Colors (Personal Choice)

Technique:
   Fussy Cutting
   CAS

Accessories:
   Seaside Ribbon 4-1/4"
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I stamped two fish on scraps of Basic White.

I then colored them, using Copic Markers. You can use any medium readily available to you.

Next, I fussy cut them and set them aside.

I then adhered the Adventure Bound DSP panel onto the Mint Macaron card front, keeping it flush with the bottom and the sides of the card.

Next, I adhered a strip of ribbon to cover the seam. I trimmed the ribbon on each end of the card.

I then stamped the sentiment at the top of the card front, using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Lastly, I attached the fish, using dimensionals, and adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Oceanic Birthday

I created the watercolor background with only two colors: Bashful Blue and Brilliant Blue. I let them sit for a few hours to see the true colors. I think it looks great for an underwater scene. What do you think?

Stamps:
   By the Tide
   Bring on the Cake

Paper:
   Bashful Blue A-2
   Basic Black 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Watercolor 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Mossy Meadow
   Elegant Eggplant

Re-Inkers:
   Bashful Blue
   Brilliant Blue

Technique:
   Watercolor

Accessories:
   Wink of Stella Clear
   Aqua Painter
   Adhesive

First, I applied the ink to the watercolor paper to create the background: Bashful Blue and Brilliant Blue. I let it sit for a few hours to let it completely dry and get a true color.

I then stamped the sentiment, using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Next, I stamped the seaweed, using Mossy Meadow.

I then stamped the seahorses with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Next, I stamped the seashell, using Elegant Eggplant. I added some Clear Wink of Stella to get it to sparkle.

I then added a bit of the Wink of Stella to the seahorses as well.

Next, I adhered the panel onto its Basic Black matte and then adhered it to the Bashful Blue card front.

Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Deep Blue Sea

I can only imagine the vastness of the deep blue sea. My preference of course is to stay above the water and breathe, but given the challenge of "Under the Sea," I created a dark blue panel with splotches of a lighter tone. No, really, I painted the panel with acrylic blue paint and got lucky. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Sea of Textures
   By the Tide

Paper:
   Basic White A-2, 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Whisper White Craft

Acrylic Paint:
   Blue

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Pearl Basic Jewels
   Adhesive

First, I painted a Basic White panel with blue acrylic paint and waited a minute as it dried.

I then stamped several underwater images using Whisper White craft ink.

Next, I adhered the panel to a Basic White card front.

Lastly, I added a few pearls to represent bubbles and adhered the other Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

I am so excited that you stopped to read and check out my work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Contact Me and let me know if there is anything I can answer for you.

Bubbly Seahorses

Did you know that hair gel can look like water? It even has air bubbles in it! I made this birthday card for my grandson and already gave it to him. He just loved playing with the gel on the card. Amazingly, it is not too difficult to make!

Stamps:
   By the Tide
   Something to Celebrate

Paper:
   Marina Mist A-2, Scraps
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2), Scraps

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Early Espresso
   Marina Mist
   Pistachio Pudding

Technique:
   Hair Gel or Water Shaker
   Dry Embossing
   Die Cutting
   Punching
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Seaside Embossing Folder
   Layering Circles Framelits Dies
   Washi Label Punch
   Small Ziplock Clear Plastic Bag
   Tear & Tape Adhesive
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Sponge
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

These are all of the items I used to make my card, but you can substitute what you have on hand. You may also choose to delete some of the things I did on my card. Keep it simple.

First, I inked up my embossing folder and ran it through the big shot using my Seaside Embossing Folder. I then used my Layering Circles Framelits to cut out a circle in the top center of my panel.

I then penciled this circle onto a scrap of Whisper White, larger than the circle, but smaller than the embossed panel.

Next, I stamped some Pistachio Pudding Seaweed onto the Whisper White panel, using the penciled circle as my window. I also stamped 3 Seahorse Silhouettes on top of the seaweed.

Using the same size circle and the next larger size circle, I die cut the frame that will go around this circle in Marina Mist.

I added hair gel to the small ziplock clear plastic bag. I made sure the bag was not going to leak any gel onto my card. This was then secured over the stamped image, using strong adhesive.

Next, I added strong adhesive to this smaller panel and secured it onto the back of my embossed panel, making sure the image and hair gel were centered on my circle.

I added the circle frame around the opening and positioned pearls around it. I attached the sentiment on the bottom using dimensionals.

This was all then added to the card base. The other Whisper White panel was for the inside of the card.

I took this idea from Dawn's video. You can see it HERE
