Birthday Bound

Running strips of designer series paper through my crimper reminded me of streamers. So, I hung them from the top of the card and punched the bottom of them. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Something Fancy

Paper:
   Lemon Lime Twist A-2
   Basic Black 4-1/8 x 5-3/8
   Broadway Bound DSP 4 x 5-1/4, 4 x 3/4, 3/8 x 4 (4)
   Basic White 4 x 5-1/4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   Crimping
   Punching

Accessories:
   Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins
   Banners Pick A Punch
   Crimper
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

First, I adhered the Broadway Bound DSP panel onto a Basic Black matte and then onto the Lemon Lime Twist card front.

I then stamped  a sentiment in the center of the Broadway Bound DSP strip, using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and adhered it onto the lower part of the card front.

Next, I ran the Broadway Bound DSP strips through the crimper and trimmed them to have two different sizes.

I then punched the bottom of each strip to make sure they fit above the sentiment strip, using the Banners Pick a Punch. I attached them, using glue dots.

Lastly, I added a few Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins to the card front and adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Colorful Thanks

I enjoy coloring. It takes me back to a time when I didn't have a care in the world. I sit in front of the television and pull out my coloring pages and markers, pencils, crayons, whatever I fancy at the moment. Of course, I then have to persuade my self that there is no wrong way to color the page...and the relaxation begins...

Stamps:
   Charming Cafe

Paper:
   Apricot Appeal A-2
   Coloring Page 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Apricot Appeal

Markers:
   Various (Personal Choice)

Technique:
   Crimper
   Punching
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Crimper
   Washi Label Punch
   Sponge
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I stamped, punched, and sponged the sentiment.

I then ran it through the crimper and attached it using dimensionals.

I adhered the coloring page to the Apricot Appeal card front.

Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

I hold on to my coloring pages and cut them down any way I choose for my cards. I can also die cut or dry emboss them to adorn a card front. Using various colors on a page allows for much freedom in choosing a card base.

Heartstrings

The Texture Chic Designer Series Paper is wonderful to use for any occasion. The abstract design and bits of gold interspersed throughout gives it a very sophisticated feel. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Eden's Garden

Paper:
   Early Espresso A-2, 4-1/2 x 3-1/4
   Texture Chic DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 2-1/4 x 5/8, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)
   Soft Succulent 4-1/4 x 1-1/2
   Gold Foil Scraps

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Crimping

Accessories:
   Eden Dies
   Beautiful Trees Dies
   Crimper
   Glue Dots
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I die cut my tree, using Beautiful Trees dies and Early Espresso cardstock.

I attached the tree to the Texture Chic DSP panel using liquid adhesive.

Next, I die cut the Soft Succulent band using the Eden dies. Since, it was a bit long, I ran it through the crimper and attached it to the base of the DSP panel using dimensionals.

I then stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Basic White and adhered it across the band with a bit of adhesive.

I die cut my birds from a scrap of gold foil using the Beautiful Trees dies and adhered them each with a glue dot.

I then adhered the panel to the Early Espresso card front.

Lastly, I added the Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

This is definitely a card that can be used for several different occasions. The inside is left blank for the sender to personalize and determine its true purpose: Get Well, Sympathy, Here for You, Love, Friendship, etc.

Balloons & Cupcake

Birthdays call for balloons and cupcakes at any age. Using a crimper on the front panel before adhering it to the card base really set this card apart. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Wagon Full of Fun
   Crazy for Cupcakes
   Perfectly Penned
   Watercolor Wash

Paper:
   Soft Sky A-2
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2), Scraps

Ink:
   Soft Sky
   Archival Basic Black
   Daffodil Delight

Markers:
   Various - Personal Choice

Technique:
   Crimper
   Sponging
   Fussy Cutting

Accessories:
   Crimper
   Dimensionals
   Paper Snips
   Sponge
   Adhesive

First, I stamped my Basic White panel using the Watercolor Wash background stamp. I applied Soft Sky ink. If you do not own this background stamp, create your own watercolor wash using a brush and watercolor ink.

I then stamped some balloons and colored them using various markers. I did not take the time to mask off any balloons. So, I used a dark color for the balloon that overlapped one of the others.

Next, I stamped the sentiment across the top of the panel.

I ran the panel through the crimper both vertically and horizontally.

I then stamped, colored, and fussy cut a cupcake. I attached the cupcake to the lower part of the card front using dimensionals.

Lastly, I adhered the panel to the card front and added the other Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Crushed Tangelo

Even though these colors have been discontinued, I will continue to use them until my supply is depleted. Who knows, you may have them in your stash as well. This color combination is quite striking. Don't you think? What color combination would you use for this design?

Stamps:
   Blossoms in Bloom

Paper:
   Purely Pomegranate A-2
   Tangelo Twist 5-1/2 x 4-1/2
   Crushed Curry 5-1/2 x 4-1/2
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4, 1/2 x 3

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Crimping
   Punching

Accessories:
   Many Layered Blossoms Dies
   Crimper
   Banner Punch
   Bright's Enamel Shapes
   Fine Tip Glue Pen
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

The only stamping on this card was on the sentiment. It can be left off, and you will have an All-Occasions card.

Note, you will want to stamp your sentiment first, and then run it through your crimper. If you do not have one, you can improvise and use your scoring tool. Or you can leave it alone and just attach it using dimensionals.

I used a fine tip glue pen to adhere the Tangelo Twist die cut onto the Crushed Curry die cut. This was then adhered to the card base.

Lastly, I added a few enamel shapes. You can use whatever embellishments you have on hand. I adhered the basic white panel to the inside of the card.

Colorful & Crimpy Thanks

I decided to dust off my crimper and add a bit of texture to my card. I think it also draws your attention to see and feel something that is not part of the norm. What are your thoughts?

Stamps:
   Enjoy the Moment
   Simply Succulents

Paper:
   Granny Apple Green A-2
   Bermuda Bay 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)
   Artistry Blooms DSP 1-1/2 x 4

Ink:
   Granny Apple Green
   Daffodil Delight
   Melon Mambo
   Bermuda Bay

Technique:
   Blending/Sponging
   Crimping

Accessories:
   Bright's Candy Dots
   Crimper
   Blending Brush or Sponge
   Tear & Tape Adhesive
   Adhesive

I used three images from the "Enjoy the Moment" stamp set. I stamped them using Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green inks.

Next, I stamped my sentiment in Granny Apple Green. The sentiment is from the "Simply Succulent" stamp set.

I then ran my 1-1/2 x 4 inch piece of DSP through my crimper. I adhered it using tear & tape adhesive.

I then adhered this panel to a panel of Bermuda Bay and then onto the Granny Apple Green card base.

I decided to add a few candy dots that have been discontinued. You can easily add pearls, rhinestones, or any other embellishment you have on hand.

Sympathy Hearts

I assumed and expected a monochromatic look to be dull, boring, and unimaginative. Yet, when I was challenged to make a monochromatic card, I found it challenging and exciting. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Golden Afternoon

Paper:
   Melon Mambo A-2, 3-5/8 x 3-3/4
   Melon Mambo DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Melon Mambo

Technique:
   Monochromatic
   Crimper

Accessories:
   1/8" Melon Mambo Taffeta Ribbon
   Brights Enamel Shapes (Melon Mambo)
   Crimper
   Stamparatus or MISTI
   Glue Dots
   Fast Fuse

First, I looked through my accessories, ribbons, and DSP. I found Melon Mambo to be a winner.

Next, I decided on a tool, embossing folder, or die cut that would add some interest to my card. I decided to dust off my crimper and give it some love. So, I ran the DSP through the crimper.

I stamped my images onto the 3-5/8 x 3-3/4" panel of Melon Mambo. I used my MISTI to make sure I could stamp the images and sentiment several times. The stamparatus will do the same job.

I adhered this panel to the top portion of my DSP using glue dots.

I tied the ribbon on the bottom part of the panel.

I then adhered it to the card base using my fast fuse.

Lastly, I added the three hearts and the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Tree Line

A fall tree line at sunset is perfect for a masculine card. The sentiment can be changed to whatever you need. Of course, "You are wonderful" can be left on the front, and you can add your other sentiment on the inside: Happy Birthday, Happy Father's Day, Congratulations, etc..

Stamps:
   Winter Woods
   Rooted in Nature
   Waterfront

Paper:
   Soft Suede A-2
   Whisper White 3-3/8 x 4, 5-1/4 x 4, 3 x 1-3/4
   Blackberry Bliss 1-3/4 x 4-1/4

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Soft Suede
   Blackberry Bliss
   Tangerine Tango

Technique:
   Sponging
   Crimping
   Fussy Cut

Accessories:
   Crimper
   Sponge
   Jute Twine
   Fast Fuse
   Dimensionals

The tree line is from the Winter Woods stamp set. The ground cover is from the Waterfront stamp set. The sentiment is from the Rooted in Nature stamp set. Any of these can be switched for a stamp you have in your inventory.

First, I sponged my sky with Tangerine Tango and a hint of Blackberry Bliss.

I then stamped the ground using Soft Suede.

I inked up the tree line with Archival Basic Black and stamped in the center of my panel.

I stamped the sentiment and fussy cut around it. It is attached using dimensionals.

The Blackberry Bliss strip is crimped and then trimmed down to measure 4 inches in width. I purposely cut it a bit bigger because it shrinks a tad when you crimp it.

Once I trimmed it down, I wrapped Jute twine around it twice and made a small knot. This is why the sentiment is attached with dimensionals. It helps to hide the knot underneath it. This piece is adhered with the strong fast fuse adhesive.

The large 5-1/4 x 4 Whisper White panel is for the inside of the card.

Only One

Each card you make is a one-of-a-kind. Even if you use the same materials, each one will be unique. Don't misunderstand. The cards can look very much alike, but there will still be subtle differences. These subtleties are what makes it so very special and unique.

Stamps:
   One of a Kind

Paper:
   Basic Gray A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Melon Mambo
   Wisteria Wonder
   Basic Gray

Technique:
   Crimper
   CAS

Accessories:
   Adhesive

First, I stamped the Melon Mambo flower in the middle of the Whisper White panel.

Then I added the sentiment with Wisteria Wonder.

Next, I randomly added the other flowers using Basic Gray.

I then ran the panel through my crimper, vertically. This does shrink the panel a tiny bit. So, I trimmed the other edges to balance it out.

Lastly, I adhered the panel to the card base. The other Whisper White panel is for the inside of the card.

Thank you for stopping by here and taking a quick peek.

This is a wonderful card for that person who  needs to be reminded of how wonderfully special they are to you. Sometimes, we forget to complement each other, or we just take each other for granted.
