Beached Black Bear

Here is one where the main image is seen in a strange environment. I don't think a big black bear would ever be walking on a beach. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Oceanfront
   Wildlife Wonder

Paper:
   Soft Sky A-2
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Soft Sky
   Pacific Point
   Crumb Cake
   Soft Suede
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Adhesive

First, I stamped the blue sky on a Basic White panel, using Soft Sky ink.

I then stamped the water with Pacific Point.

Next, I stamped the beach, using Crumb Cake, and the grains of sand, using Soft Suede.

I then stamped the bear with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Next, I adhered the panel onto the Soft Sky card front.

Lastly, I added a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

As you can see, the water and the beach bled through the bear image. In retrospect, I should have either created a mask for the bear, or I should have stamped it on a separate Basic White scrap and fussy cut it out. Oops...next time.

The Clearing

Use new sentiments with your discontinued stamps. I enjoy mixing the new with the old. Since I keep my stamps until they are useless, (BTW: This never happens.) I mix and match all of the time. Here I used an old-time favorite and paired it with a new set. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Noble Deer
   Wildlife Wonder

Paper:
   Crushed Curry A-2
   Glossy White 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside), Scrap

Ink:
   Crushed Curry
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Re-Inkers:
   Crushed Curry
   Garden Green
   Island Indigo
   Night of Navy
   Rose Red

Technique:
   Cling Wrap
   Punching
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Cling Wrap
   Water Mister
   Sponge
   Banners Pick a Punch
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I created my Cling Wrap Background. You can follow the tutorial from SCS found at: Cling Wrap Tutorial

I let the panel dry overnight. At first, I thought I had ruined the whole panel because it looked very dark. The Night of Navy seemed to take over the whole thing. Fortunately, the longer I left it, the lighter it became. Note to self: Never throw it out!

Once the background was completely dry, I stamped directly on it.

I then stamped my sentiment on a scrap of Basic White.

I used the Banners Pick a Punch to clip the ends and then sponged it using Crushed Curry.

I attached it using dimensionals.

Lastly, I adhered the panel to the card front and added the Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Marbleous Birthday

Can you believe that I did nothing special to this bear to make it look great? I merely inked the stamp using Early Espresso and then stamped the designer series paper once. Amazing! What do you think?

Stamps:
   Wildlife Wonder
   Beauty of Friendship

Paper:
   Basic Gray A-2
   Crumb Cake 3-1/2 x 2
   Simply Marbleous DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Crumb Cake
   Early Espresso
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Stamp-Off

Accessories:
   Beautiful Trees Dies
   Star Designer Elements
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I selected the gray marbled sheet from the Simply Marbleous DSP pack and cut it down to size.

Next, I stamped the trees and ground, using Crumb Cake. I stamped-off a couple of times on the ground cover.

I then stamped the bear with Early Espresso.

I chose the birthday sentiment for this card and used Tuxedo Black Memento to stamp it.

Next, I stamped and die cut one tree to add a bit of dimension to the card. I used the Beautiful Trees Dies and the Beauty of Friendship stamp set for this.

Lastly, I added a couple of stars to draw attention to the sentiment, and also adhered the basic white panel to the inside of the card.
