Foiled Flowers

Can you believe that you can create an amazing background using foil paper right out of your pantry? I could not believe it until I actually did it. What do you think of this embossed foil background?

Stamps:
   Rose Wonder

Paper:
   Basic Black A-2
   Real Red 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)
   Red Foil 2" Sq. (3)
   Foil 5-1/2 x 4-1/4

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Dry Embossing

Accessories:
   Spring Flowers Embossing Folder
   Rose Garden Thinlits Dies
   Simple Flower Embossilits
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Adhesive

First, I covered a Whisper White panel in foil paper. You do not need to glue it down and the back of it does not need to be pretty. Do not pull the foil too tightly, so it does not tear during the embossing.

I then placed this panel into my Spring Flowers Embossing Folder and ran it through my embossing machine.

I then adhered this panel onto the Real Red panel and then onto the Basic Black card front.

Next, I ran each of the red foil squares through the embossing machine using the Simple Flower Embossilits. You do have to do these individually, since the embossilit die cuts and embosses the image.

I stamped and die cut my sentiment, using the Rose Wonder stamp set and the Rose Garden Thinlits Die. This was adhered using my liquid adhesive, but you can prop it up using dimensionals.

Lastly, I added some basic pearl jewels and adhered the other Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Chocolate Slider

Sometimes we have to combine the new with the old. Or maybe we just need to use up some of the items in our stash. Otherwise, there is no room to add more new things! What do you think?

Stamps:
   Rooted in Nature

Paper:
   Groovy Guava A-2
   Chocolate Chip 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Afternoon Tea DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 3-3/4 x 3-1/4, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Chocolate Chip

Technique:
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Antique Brass Hodgepodge Hardware
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Stitched Labels Framelits Dies
   1/4" Chocolate Chip Ribbon
   Dimensionals
   Glue Dots
   Fast Fuse
   Adhesive

First, I stamped and die cut my sentiment on Whisper White. The sentiment is from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set, and the die cut is from the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies. These are my new items.

I then chose some discontinued designer series paper and cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch panel. I matched up some ribbon, cardstock, and embellishments.

Next, I slid the chocolate chip ribbon through the slider and attached it to the bottom of the designer series paper.

I adhered this panel to a Chocolate Chip panel and then onto a Groovy Guava card base.

I added the sentiment using dimensionals.

Lastly, I added a few pearls and adhered the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Snowflakes Too

These snowflakes are actually silver. The camera picked them up as white, which is actually quite perfect. Still, in real life, these snowflakes are silver. I think the vellum also adds a classic elegance to the card. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Snowflake Sentiments

Paper:
   Bashful Blue A-2, 3-1/2 x 2-1/2
   Holidays Fancy Foil Vellum 5-1/2 x 4-1/4
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Stitched Seasons Framelits Dies
   Frosted Sequins
   Dimensionals
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

First, I stamped and die cut my sentiment.

I then cut and adhered the vellum to the card front using glue dots. You can use vellum tape if you have it.

I then centered and attached the sentiment with dimensionals.

Lastly, I added snowflakes and sequins to the front of the card and the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Tea Shaker

Shaker cards are easy to make as long as you have all of the necessary supplies. They are also fun to receive at any age. Make someone smile with this card.

Stamps:
   A Nice Cuppa

Paper:
   Melon Mambo A-2
   Have a Cuppa DSP 3-1/2 x 3
   Window Sheet (Acetate) 3-1/2 x 3

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   Shaker Card

Accessories:
   Cups & Kettle Framelits Dies
   Mounting Tape (Foam Tape)
   Fast Fuse
   Elements to fill shaker window

First, I die cut my shaker shape directly on the card front. I chose a tea cup.

I then stamped my sentiment on the bottom and the heart of steam on the top.

Next, I adhered my window sheet (acetate) from the back of the card front. It covers the opening of the cup.

I then added my foam tape or mounting tape all around the die cut. I placed it directly on the acetate. I am working on the left panel of an opened card.

FYI: By using foam tape, I have created a wall all around the tea cup. Make sure there are no breaks anywhere around it. Otherwise, your sprinkles will fall out.

Now, I add sprinkles or shaker elements on the acetate or window sheet. You can use anything you want. I had some micro beads, red glitter hearts, and other sequins.

I then took the tape off the foam and adhered the DSP to seal the shaker. You can easily add a complete panel to cover the shaker portion. I left mine alone. You can also add the shaker portion to the front of the card.

You can find a tutorial to create a shaker card HERE. There are many ways and versions of shaker cards. Get creative and make your own.

Make Me Happy

This card can be given to someone for Valentine's Day or just because they cause you to smile and feel joyful. Don't you agree?

Stamps:
   Happy Wishes

Paper:
   Elegant Eggplant A-2
   Watercolor 2-1/4 x 4-1/4
   Red Glitter 1/2 x 4-1/4
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Markers:
   Basic Black
   Real Red
   Melon Mambo
   Old Olive
   Always Artichoke
   Elegant Eggplant
   Perfect Plum

Brushos:
   Yellow
   Gamboge
   Brilliant Red

Technique:
   Watercolor
   Markering
   Punching

Accessories:
   White Tea Lace Doilies
   Hearts Border Punch
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Water Spritzer
   Adhesive

I began with my watercolor background. I sprinkled on some brushos and then spritzed the panel with water. I dabbed it with a paper towel here and there. I may have added a bit more flakes along with water. I then set it aside to dry.

I then took the large happy stamp and my markers. I colored in the happy with Basic Black and used the other markers on the flowers below.

Once the watercolor panel was dry, I breathed on the stamp to re-activate the ink and then stamped my panel.

I then added the words above the happy.

I chose to add a bit of glimmer. In looking through my envelope of Red Glitter paper, I found the strip that I had used to punch out hearts. So, I decided to just place it on the bottom of the card as a border. This is why I don't like to throw away my scraps. (I also sometimes punch these pieces to create fillers for my shaker cards.)

The two panels looked a bit bland to me. So, I grabbed one of my doilies and placed it underneath. I think it is just what the card needed. I adhered the layers onto the card.

Lastly, I added rhinestones and the other panel to the inside of the card.

Poinsettia Christmas

This beautiful designer paper made the card. All I had to do was adhere the layers together and add a sentiment. Of course, as soon as the paper runs out, I am back to square one. I could have chosen to color in the other poinsettias, but I chose to leave the paper alone. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Bells & Boughs

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2, 2-1/4 x 1-3/4, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)
   Cherry Cobbler 4-1/8 x 5-3/8
   Deck the Halls DSP 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Cherry Cobbler

Technique:
   Sponging
   Punching

Accessories:
   Extra-Large Oval Punch
   Sponge
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I stamped my sentiment and punched it out using the large-oval punch.

I then sponged the edges and attached it using dimensionals.

Lastly, I adhered my layers together. The other Very Vanilla panel is for the inside of the card. This panel is optional, since the card base is Very Vanilla. I think it finishes the card nicely. What do you think? Do you add the extra to your cards or save the paper?

Thank You Pear

This pear looked so different in my mind's eye. In retrospect, I should have used a lighter shade of green or a watercolor pencil instead of a marker. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Faith in Nature
   Simple Sketches

Paper:
   Basic Black A-2, 4 x 2-1/4
   All ABloom DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Watercolor 3-3/4 x 2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Creamy Caramel

Markers:
   Green

Technique:
   Sponging
   Distressed Edges

Accessories:
   Antique Brass Hodgepodge Hardware
   3/8" Double-Stitched Wild Wasabi Ribbon (6")
   Sponge
   Distress Tool
   Glue Dots
   Double-Sided Tape

First, I stamped my image and sentiment.

I then sponged the paper and distressed the edges. I colored in the pear with a green marker.

I adhered this piece to the 2-1/4 x 4 basic black.

I added a slider to my ribbon and adhered it to the DSP panel. I used double sided tape to keep it in place.

I then adhered this panel to the Basic Black card base. I attached the pear panel above the slider using a few glue dots.

Lastly, I adhered the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Kick Butt

I wanted a colorful background to highlight my silhouettes. I think I succeeded. Don't you?

Stamps:
   Enjoy Life

Paper:
   Tangelo Twist A-2
   Basic Black 5-1/4 x 4
   Shimmery White 5 x 3-3/4
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Midnight Muse
   Summer Sun
   Tangelo Twist
   Lemon Lime Twist
   Tip Top Taupe

Technique:
Ink Pad to Paper + Water

Accessories:
   Water Spritzer
   Aqua Painter
   Adhesive

I spritzed my shimmery white paper with water. (Just a tad, do not saturate.)

I then applied lines of ink. Using my aqua painter I spread the ink to cover the section. I added water or ink as needed.

I then set it aside to dry.

I stamped my silhouettes and sentiment. Using a Stamparatus or MISTI tool will allow you to stamp a really nice silhouette on your card.

Lastly, I adhered the layers together. I added the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Gated Christmas Trees

You can find a tutorial for this trifold or gate fold card HERE. I like the simplicity of this card. The green foiled trees on the vellum make this card glimmer and shine. It definitely sets it apart without getting glitter everywhere. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Winter Woods

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2
   Call Me Clover 4 x 3
   Holiday Fancy Foil Vellum 1-7/8 x 5-1/4 (2)

Ink:
   Call Me Clover

Technique:
   Gate Fold Card

Accessories:
   In the Woods Framelits
   Glue Dots
   Dimensionals

First, I stamped and die cut my tree.

Next, I cut my panels of vellum. These are attached using glue dots.

I then adhered the Christmas tree with dimensionals. I did add another panel of Whisper White to the inside of the card. I feel this finishes the card nicely. Since the card base is Whisper White, this panel is optional.

Twisted Balloon

Balloons are mostly used for bringing smiles to people's faces. We may send balloons to someone who is sick, hoping the balloons will help them smile. We might send balloons to celebrate a special occasion or day. It doesn't matter; balloons are fun! Here is a balloon with a golden banner to celebrate that special day. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Celebrate Today

Paper:
   Crushed Curry A-2, Scraps
   Birthday Bash DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Gold Glimmer Scraps
   Night of Navy Scraps
   Tangelo Twist Scraps
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Balloon Framelits
   Swirly Scribbles Thinlits
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I adhered my DSP panel to my card front.

Next, I die cut the Tangelo Twist scraps using the Swirly Scribble Thinlits. I adhered these to the center of my card using liquid adhesive.

I then die cut the balloon, and banners using the Balloon Framelits. I adhered the Gold Glimmer banner onto the balloon using liquid glue. The balloon and celebrate banners are attached with dimensionals.

Lastly, I adhered the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

It is quite easy to switch out the colors to the recipient's favorite colors, or the celebrate banner to a congratulations or welcome banner.
