Satin Thanks

This honeycomb design on the background paper gives the card neutrality. Simply stated, the card can be sent for any occasion to anyone. Just change the sentiment to meet your need. What do you think? I like the bold colors.

Stamps:
   Sweet Strawberry

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2
   See A Silhouette DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Crushed Curry 2-1/2 x 1

Ink:
   Pacific Point

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon 8"
   Fast Fuse

I added adhesive only to the top part of the ribbon and then wrapped it around the designer series paper. This way, I could slip the strip of Crushed Curry underneath it.

Of course, you can add the Crushed Curry first and then the ribbon, but I seem to work backwards sometimes.

The designer series panel was then adhered to the front of the card base.

Sunrise

I dusted off an older stamp set that includes a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Although it has been retired, it remains as one of my favorites. I am a big fan of the natural world around us. I also decided to revisit a couple of forgotten colors. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Kinda Eclectic

Paper:
   Perfect Plum A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2), 1-1/2 x 4
   Strawberry Slush 1-3/4 x 4

Ink:
   Elegant Eggplant
   Strawberry Slush
   Mossy Meadow

Technique:
   None

Accessories:
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Adhesive

First, I stamped the leaves along the bottom and the top right corner of the Whisper White panel. I used Mossy Meadow. I really like how the leaves do not leave a complete impression. This way, when I make a mistake, you really can't tell.

I then used my Strawberry Slush to stamp the sun and the small butterfly on the left side of the Whisper White strip. I inked up only half of the sun's rays. I did make sure the complete circle of the sun was inked.

I then used the Elegant Eggplant to stamp the sentiment and the two large butterflies.

I adhered the Whisper White strip onto the Strawberry Slush strip. This was then glued onto the Whisper White panel, making sure half of the sun was peeking over it.

This panel was then adhered to the Perfect Plum card base.

Lastly, I added pearls to the butterflies, and the other Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Thank you so very much for being here. I appreciate you taking the time to glance at my work. Please Contact Me if I can be of service.

Mountain Air

This view is destined to make anyone feel better. I would love to be sitting by this window with a warm cup of coffee, enjoying the view.

Stamps:
   Waterfront
   Itty Bitty Greetings

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2, 4-1/4 x 3-1/2
   Whisper White 4-1/4 x 3-1/2 (trim)
   Marina Mist 5-1/4 x 4
   Early Espresso 5 x 3-3/4

Ink:
   Early Espresso
   Marina Mist
   Mossy Meadow
   Pear Pizzazz

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Dry Embossing
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Window Die
   Woodgrain Embossing Folder
   Sponge
   Adhesive

First, I die cut the window frame on the Very Vanilla panel.

I then took the Whisper White panel and laid the window frame on top of it. I lightly made pencil marks marking the corners of the panes. This way, I know what will show through the window.

Next, I sponged the sky using Marina Mist.

I then stamped the mountains and the cabin using Early Espresso. Stamping two or three times without re-inking gives the image dimension.

I then moved on to stamping the trees using Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz. I did my best to not stamp directly onto the cabin. I used the Pear Pizzazz for the ground cover as well.

This completed my view through the window. I found that my pencil marks disappeared as I stamped and sponged. Check for marks and erase if necessary.

I then took the window frame and stamped my sentiment on the bottom of it. I used Early Espresso for this.

I also trimmed back my Whisper White panel a bit on the sides. This is to make sure that none of it will appear past the window frame when it is put together.

I then dry embossed my Early Espresso panel using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. This panel was adhered to the Marina Mist panel which was then attached to the card base.

Lastly, I adhered my window scene onto my window frame, and attached it using adhesive.

Notice Cucumber

One color, one frame, one bow, one flower, and one sentiment to make one card. Keep it clean and simple. Cucumber Crush is the In-Color! Do you like it?

Stamps:
   Letter Board Messages

Paper:
   Cucumber Crush A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Cucumber Crush

Technique:
   Monochromatic

Accessories:
Cucumber Crush Dotted Lace Trim 24"
   2015 - 2017 In-Color Blossom Accents
   Glue Dots
   Stamparatus/MISTI/Stamp-a-ma-jig
   Adhesive

Sadly, In-Colors are around for only two years. This Cucumber Crush In-Color was discontinued back in 2017. Still, it remains to be one of my striking favorites. So, as long as my supplies last, I will continue to use it.

I began by gathering my embellishments, ribbon, DSP, and anything else that is of that one color.

Upon examination of these items, I decided on a theme for the card. Sometimes my theme is chosen by need. With this bright green color, I chose to be positive and make it the envy of all the other cards.

I chose my positive sentiment and framed it. I tied a lacy trim on the top and added a floral accent.

Lastly, I adhered the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Sand Dollar Beach

This is one of my favorite sentiments: Be calm and leave it to God. Definitely easier said than done. Still, if you believe and trust...Be calm and leave it to God. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Lilypad Lake
   Waterfront

Paper:
   Marina Mist A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)
   Crumb Cake 4 x 2 (Tear Edge)
   Cherry Cobbler Scraps

Ink:
   Marina Mist
   Cherry Cobbler
   Crumb Cake

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Sponging
   Tearing

Accessories:
   Under the Sea Framelits Dies
   Sponge Brayer
   Sponge
   Adhesive

There are times when I find a Whisper White panel staring at me quite intimidating. So, the first thing I did was to slightly sponge Marina Mist ink all over it, using my sponge brayer.

I then stamped the water all the way to the bottom of the panel, leaving room at the top for the sentiment and the sun/moon.

I then switched to Cherry Cobbler. I stamped the circle on the top right and the sentiment to the left of it.

I added several sailboats all over the water. This was done only in the middle section.

I then took the 4 x 2" piece of Crumb Cake and tore it in half lengthwise. This then gave me two pieces: 4 x 1". (Tear the cardstock toward you.) I then sponged the edges with Crumb Cake and stamped the speckles on both pieces.

I layered these two pieces on the bottom of the card. Obviously, the straight edge is the one in front. I added adhesive only to the bottom of the pieces.

I then die cut a couple of sand dollars and adhered them between the sand.

Lastly, I adhered this panel to the Marina Mist card base. The other Whisper White panel was adhered to the inside of the card.

Just Be You

Sometimes we need to be reminded that the best we can be is ourselves. We strive to be the BEST, FIRST, or SUPERIOR. We aim to be just like... Still, the best we can be is the best version of ourselves. So, at the end of the day, just be YOU.

Stamps:
   Friendly Flamingo

Paper:
   Very Vanilla 6 x 7 scored @ 3-1/2
   Purple Posy 4-1/4 x 3
   Artistry Blooms DSP 3-1/2 x 6
   Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut DSP 3-1/2 x 5

Ink:
   Gorgeous Grape

Technique:
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Flamingo Dies
   Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems
   Black Rhinestone Jewels
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I stamped and die cut my flamingo. I used Gorgeous Grape ink on Purple Posy paper.

I then adhered the Artistry Blooms DSP onto the Very Vanilla card base.

I layered the Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut DSP on the top part of the card.

I stamped the sentiment on the bottom right of the card. A Stamparatus, MISTI, or Stamp-a-ma-jig helps with precise stamping.

I then attached the flamingo using dimensionals.

Lastly, I added a couple of gems to draw attention to the sentiment.

Eastern Basket Weave

Make your card stand out by trying a new technique. This one is called a Basket Weave. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Eastern Beauty

Paper:
   Tranquil Tide A-2
   Eastern Palace DSP 3-1/4 x 5-1/2
   Very Vanilla 3 x 5-1/4, 3" Sq., 2-1/4" Sq.
Fresh Fig 3-1/4" Sq., 2-1/2" Sq.

Ink:
   Tranquil Tide
   Fresh Fig
   Metallic Gold

Technique:
   Basket Weave
   Die Cutting
   Heat Embossing

Accessories:
   Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies
   Layering Circles Framelits
   Gold Embossing Powder
   Clear Faceted Gems
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

The tutorial for this Basket Weave technique can be found HERE on SplitCoastStampers.

Technique:
First, I cut and weaved my Tranquil Tide A-2 card. It looks difficult, but is rather quite easy. Do give it a try.

Next, I attached the Eastern Palace DSP to the front of the card.

Heat Embossing:
I then stamped the edge of the basket weave with my Metallic Gold Ink. I added the gold embossing powder and heat set it.

Die Cutting:
Using my Layering Circles Framelits, I cut the circle and scallop on the Fresh Fig squares. I also die cut the large medallion on the Very Vanilla square using the Eastern Medallions Thinlits.

Stamping:
I then moved onto stamping: I stamped the
   Flower using Fresh Fig ink,
Large Medallion using Tranquil Tide Ink,
   Sentiment using Fresh Fig Ink.

Die Cutting After Stamping:
I then took the stamped flower and die cut it with the coordinating die. Notice that the inner petals add dimension - Do not glue them down.

Let's Put the Card Together:
I adhered the large medallion to the large Fresh Fig circle using dimensionals.

The flower was adhered with liquid glue to the scalloped circle, keeping the petals free to add dimension.

I then adhered the circles to the card front using liquid glue. Use your favorite adhesive.

I added a clear faceted gem to the center of the flower and some rhinestones to both for some glimmer and sparkle.

The 3 x 5-1/4" Very Vanilla panel is for the inside of the card.

   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Cucumber Crush

Technique:
   Monochromatic

Accessories:

Use a stamping tool such as a Stamparatus, MISTI, or Stamp-a-ma-jig. This will allow you to stamp multiple times to get crisp, clear images.

You can also choose to vary the strength or tone of your ink by stamping-off. The more times you stamp-off the lighter the tone.

Leaves on the Wall

Over the years people have collected and pressed leaves. Others have created art while others just enjoy playing in a big pile of leaves. Either way, images of leaves can be used to express just about anything. Check out this one.

Leaves on the Wall

Stamps:
   Vintage Leaves
   Rose Wonder

Paper:
   Crumb Cake A-2
   Basic Black 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2), Scraps

Ink:
   Crumb Cake
   Pumpkin Pie
   Sweet Sugarplum
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Dry Embossing

Accessories:
   Rose Garden Thinlits Dies
   Leaflits Framelits Dies
   Brick Wall Embossing Folder
   Linen Thread
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Glue Dots
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

Did you know that you can take a leaf from a fruit tree and know the fruit it will bear? All you have to do is tear the leaf in half and smell it. The leaf will smell the same as the fruit it will bear. Here is another card with another purpose, but using the same materials. Notice the subtleties that make each card unique.

Leaves on the Wall Too

So, my first step was to ink up my Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with my Sweet Sugarplum Classic Ink Pad. I applied ink to the smooth side of the embossing folder. I then carefully placed my Whisper White panel inside the folder, making sure it did not shift or move. I then ran it through my embossing machine. Make sure you clean your folder when you are done.

Next, I stamped and die cut my leaves. I used Crumb Cake and Pumpkin Pie ink. Using the Vintage Leaves stamp set, I stamped two large leaves and two small ones. I then die cut them using the Leaflits Framelits Dies.

I added linen thread to my large leaf. I used a glue dot to hold the linen thread in place on the back of the leaf. I then just wrapped it around the leaf pulling it around each indentation on the middle section. I added another glue dot to hold the thread on the back. I used about 36" of thread.

I then arranged these leaves and attached them to the brick wall using dimensionals. I tied a bow with linen thread and adhered it with a glue dot where the stems crossed.

I then stamped my frames and sentiments with my Archival Basic Black Ink Pad. I die cut these using the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies. These were also attached using dimensionals.

I then adhered these panels onto the Basic Black cardstock and then onto the card fronts. I like to add a 5-1/4 x 4" Whisper White panel to the inside of the card as well. So, you actually need 4 panels, instead of 2.

Lastly, add a few pearls to the sentiment on each card.

Thank you so very much for being here. I appreciate you taking the time to glance at my work. Please Contact Me if I can be of service.
