Friend to Friend

A friend gifted me a silhouette image of two ladies. So, I decided to frame them and create a card using the classic colors of black and white. Basically, I chose a classy look for a couple of classy ladies. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Teeny Tiny Wishes
   Unknown (Image)

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2, 5-1/4 x 4, Scraps

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   Punching

Accessories:
   Word Window Punch
   Adhesive

I stamped and punched out a sentiment using my Word Window Punch.

I then adhered a panel of designer series paper to the Whisper White card front.

Next, I adhered the image and sentiment onto the designer series paper.

Lastly, I adhered the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

This is one card that I cannot duplicate, since I do not have the silhouette of the women. The layout, however, is classic.

Swirly Trick or Treat

I combined stamps from four stamp sets to make this card. I think the stamps all work well together, although it was a bit scary wondering what the end product would look like. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Swirly Bird
   Fall Fest
   Celestial Skies
   Holiday Best

Paper:
   Crushed Curry A-2
   Whisper White 1-1/2 x 2-1/2, 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Pumpkin Pie
   Garden Green
   Crushed Curry

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Corduroy Pumpkin Pie Buttons
   Decorative Label Punch
   Glue Dots
   Dimensionals
   Sponge
   Adhesive

First, I stamped my Pumpkin Pie swirls directly onto the card front. These are from the Swirly Bird stamp set.

I then added the faces to the two larger pumpkins, using Archival Basic Black ink. These faces are from the Fall Fest stamp set.

I then stamped my sun in the top left-hand corner of the card. I used Crushed Curry ink. This stamp is from the Celestial Skies stamp set.

I then took a scrap piece of Whisper White and stamped my sentiment. The sentiment is from the Holiday Best stamp set. I then punched out the sentiment with the Decorative Label Punch and sponged the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink. The sentiment was adhered using dimensionals.

I added the green stems to the pumpkin using Garden Green.

Lastly, I adhered a couple of corduroy buttons using glue dots, and added the other Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Rich Ending

Here is a card for those who tend to lose hope. There are times when life can get so hard that we need to be reminded that we are not alone, and it will be okay. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Letter Board Messages

Paper:
   Rich Razzleberry A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Shaded Spruce
   Basic Black

Acrylic Paint:
   Blue
   Green
   Yellow

Technique:
   Gel Plate
   Brayer

Accessories:
   Brayer
   Gel Plate
   Rich Razzleberry Ribbon
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

First, I applied acrylic paints to my gel plate and spread them using my brayer. I then pressed a Whisper White panel on the gel plate and grabbed a print. This particular print was made a while back. I was going to throw it away, but decided to hang on to it and see if I could find a use for it. Today was the day I found a use for a discarded background panel.

I then stamped my frame using Shaded Spruce ink.

I stamped the sentiment in the center of the frame using Basic Black ink.

Next, I wrapped a bit of Rich Razzleberry grosgrain ribbon around the panel. I added a knot in the center and topped it off with a basic rhinestone jewel.

Lastly, I adhered the other Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Thank you so very much for being here. I appreciate you taking the time to glance at my work. Please Contact Me if I can be of service.

It's Your Birthday

This is a Clean And Simple (CAS) birthday card for anyone at any age. You may choose to go crazy and add bling: sequins, rhinestones, gems, ribbon, glitter, etc. Or you may choose to hurry and forgo all of the extras minus the dry embossing. Well, actually, you could skip that too! Just have fun. What would you do?

Stamps:
   Big News

Paper:
   Soft Sky A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   Dry Embossing
   CAS

Accessories:
   Filigree Frame Embossing Folder
   Adhesive

First, I dry embossed the card front using the Filigree Frame Embossing Folder.

I then stamped my sentiment in the center of the frame.

Lastly, I adhered the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Make this CAS card your own by changing the colors, embossing folder, or sentiment. Have fun!

Hanging Out Too

When was the last time you met with a friend simply to enjoy each other's company? We live in a fast-paced society where we text, call, or reach out only in times of need. It is not unusual to see friends and family sitting together for a meal, but each is on their own device. Sad to see people ignore what is right in front of them. Now is the time to put down those devices and rekindle those soon to be forgotten friendships and personal relationships. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   In the Trees

Paper:
   Wisteria Wonder A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Wild Wasabi
   Old Olive
   Summer Sun

Markers:
   Various Copic Markers

Technique:
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Sponge
   Adhesive

First, I sponged my Whisper White panel with Summer Sun.

I then stamped two trees, a hammock, a squirrel, and birds, using the Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I held up the hammock and made a light pencil mark to make sure the trees were spaced enough.

I then colored my images using various Copic markers. You can use any medium that you have on hand: colored pencils, chalks, watercolors, markers, oils, etc.

I stamped the grass using Old Olive and Wild Wasabi.

Lastly, I stamped my sentiment and adhered the panel to the card front. The other Whisper White panel was adhered to the inside of the card.

Flaky Season

This snowflake die cut looks great in front of the blizzard. I find it amazing how a die cut, stamp, or Designer Series Paper (DSP) can make me look like a master of my craft, making the adage, if I can do it, so can you, a true statement. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Snowflake Sentiments

Paper:
   Soft Sky A-2
   All Is Calm DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Lost Lagoon 2-1/4 x 5-1/4
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Basic Black

Technique:
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies
   Soft Sky Ribbon 6-1/4"
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Tacky Tape
   Adhesive

First, I die cut the snowflakes using the Swirly Snowflake Thinlits Dies on Lost Lagoon cardstock.

I then adhered the die cut to the bottom half of the DSP panel. I used liquid adhesive, but you can also use a fine tip glue pen or glue dots.

I then stamped the sentiment on the top center of the DSP. You may choose to use a Stamparatus, MISTI, or Stamp-a-ma-jig to get a nice dark print.

Next, I added ribbon on top of the Lost Lagoon die cut and wrapped it around the DSP. I think it brought the two colors together.

I then adhered the DSP panel to the card front, and added the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Lastly, I added rhinestones to the middle of the die cut snowflakes for a bit of bling.

Here is another look at the card:

Inspired by Salt

Add some flavor to your card with a bit of salt. This background was created using a bit of rock salt. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Sheltering Tree
   Inspired by Nature

Paper:
   Island Indigo A-2
   Glossy White 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   StazOn Black
   Elegant Eggplant
   Island Indigo
   Always Artichoke
   Daffodil Delight
   Cajun Craze

Technique:
   Salted Background

Accessories:
   Spritzer/Spray Bottle
   Aqua Painter
   Rock Salt
   Adhesive

First, I sprayed the glossy panel with water.

I then added my colors using an aqua painter. You may choose to drop the colors or swirl them around.

I then sprinkled my rock salt over the background and sprayed it with a bit more water.

I set it aside and let it dry. You may use a heat tool if you do not have time to wait.

Once it was dry, I brushed off the rock salt and finished it with a bit of stamping.

I added the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Cold Birthday

Making a gift card holder inside an A-2 sized card is not as difficult as you might imagine. I simply cut a couple of slits on the Whisper White panel before I adhered it to the inside of the card. I placed my business card to demonstrate where the gift card would be placed. What do you think?

Stamps:
   B.Y.0.P.

Paper:
   Old Olive A-2
   Cherry on Top DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Bermuda Bay
   Crushed Curry

Technique:
   Dry Embossing
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Cable Knit Embossing Folder
   1/8" Bermuda Bay Ribbon
   Pretty Label Punch
   Sponge
   Glue Dots
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive
   Fast Fuse

First, I stamped the Whisper White panel on the top half using Bermuda Bay ink. I then set my business card down and lightly penciled two opposite corners. I then cut a slits to open the corners for my gift card. I erased any pencil marks that were left. I then adhered this panel onto the inside of my card.

I then took my DSP panel and dry embossed it using the Cable Knit Embossing Folder. You can slightly mist the DSP with a bit of water to prevent tearing.

Next, I stamped, punched, and sponged my sentiment. I stamped it using Bermuda Bay and sponged it using Crushed Curry.

I wrapped some Bermuda Bay ribbon around the DSP panel and adhered it to the card front.

I attached the sentiment using dimensionals.

I added a Bermuda Bay bow with a glue dot.

Always make sure your DSP is facing the right way. I did not focus when I adhered my DSP to the card front. So, my candles are all facing down instead of up. Ugh, this definitely makes it my own creation.

   Teeny Tiny Wishes
   Baroque Motifs

Paper:
   Blushing Bride A-2
   All ABloom DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic Black 3-3/8 x 4-7/8

   Basic Pearl Jewels

   Adhesive

First, I took a small white panel and stamped the floral flourish using my Metallic Gold stamp pad. I then added some gold embossing powder and heat embossed it.

Next, I stamped some small petals using Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight, and Blushing Bride. I punched these using my Petite Petals Punch.

I then stamped my sentiment on the top left corner of my panel.

I adhered the layers to the front of the card as shown above and added the 5-1/4 x 4 Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

The petals were added using dimensionals and the pearls were adhered with glue dots.
