Hello Inches

This faux tile background is easy to create. Any beautiful background can be cut into even squares and pieced together. If you want a glossy look, just add Crystal Effects or any other acrylic look. I left off the Crystal Effects on this one. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Sophisticated Serifs

Paper:
   Hello Honey A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)
Flowers for Every Season DSP 3 x 5 (Cut into one inch squares)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   Faux Tile

Accessories:
   Pearls
   Adhesive

First, I chose my background and cut it into one inch squares. Keep the squares in the correct order.

Next, I chose my card base to coordinate with the background. I then adhered each square directly onto the card base.

I stamped the word HELLO. I chose a five letter greeting to go with the five columns.

I added a tiny pearl between the letters to dress it up a bit. I also added the Whisper White panel on the inside of the card and called it a day.

Shaking Birthday Jar

Shaker cards can be fun to make. This one is a bit tricky because the jar punch does not reach to the middle of the card. So, I went old school. I traced the jar on my panel and cut it out with my craft knife. Almost perfect. What do you think?

Stamps:
   None

Paper:
   Bermuda Bay A-2
   Myths & Magic DSP 5-1/4 x 4 (Clear), 2-1/2 x 3 (Bermuda Bay - Behind Jar)

Ink:
   None

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Shaker Card

Accessories:
   Well Written Framelits Dies
   Jar Punch
   Mason Jar Shaker Domes
   Sequins
   Brights Enamel Shapes
   Fine Tip Glue Pen
   Adhesive

Here is a picture of the card standing up. You can see that it can hold quite a bit of sequins, etc.

Once you fill your jar and adhere the backing, you attach the panel to the card base. Add the die cut words and enamel shapes. Viola, shake away!

Almost Gorgeous

Shadows can be created using die cuts and their negative spaces. I never knew how easy this was until my stamping friend, Ann, shared her expertise. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Positive Thoughts

Paper:
   Gorgeous Grape A-2
   Almost Amethyst DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Gorgeous Grape

Technique:
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Nature's Thoughts Dies
   Pearls
   Adhesive
   Dimensionals

First, I stamped and die cut on a panel.

I then adhered the panel to my card base. I added the die cut and moved it just a tad to the side. This created the shadow. The die cut was attached with dimensionals.

I then stamped my sentiment and added a few pearls.

New Places

New beginnings carry many emotions with them. Excitement, fear, and joy are the first to come to mind. The excitement and joy of stepping into the unknown gives a person a smile on his face and butterflies in the pit of his stomach. Maybe the butterflies and edginess is caused by a bit of fear. Either way, you are heading in the right direction. Congratulations!

Stamps:
   Beautiful World

Paper:
   Delightful Dijon A-2
   Going Places DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic Black 3-1/4 x 4-1/2
   Very Vanilla 2-3/4 x 4-1/8, 3-1/4 x 1/2, 1" Circle, 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:

Accessories:
   1" Circle Punch

I do like to combine new products with some discontinued items. So, this is a new stamp set with some discontinued designer series paper and cardstock. I think they coordinate nicely. I like the neutral tones and the images that make it a nice masculine card. Any thoughts?

All of Me

Virtual hugs are just not the same as physical hugs. During this pandemic we must physically distance ourselves at least 6 feet from each other. We must wear a mask when we are in the presence of others. And we must wash our hands and sanitize the areas where others have touched. So, this image of two people hugging is what we long for and hope to perform in our future. I guess, virtual hugs will have to do for now.

Stamps:
   Embrace Each Moment
   Forever Blossoms

Paper:
   Tempting Turquoise A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4, 2-1/4 x 4, 4-1/4 x 3/4

Ink:
   Tempting Turquoise
   Various Markers (Personal Choice)

Technique:
   Sponging
   CAS

Accessories:
   Sponge
   Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems
   Adhesive

Use your own personal preference to color the couple. Then choose a card base and ink to coordinate with your colors.

Highland Christmas

This slimline card will fit in a regular business envelope. I am not sure I like this size of card. I think there is too much paper wasted with this size. You only get one card from one sheet. Still, it does allow you a different look to a card. What is your preference?

Stamps:
   Winter Woods
   Christmas Gleaming

Paper:
   Highland Heather 7 x 8-1/2 scored @ 3-1/2
   Snowflake Splendor DSP 3-1/4 x 8-1/4
   Whisper White 3 x 4 (2), 1/2 x 2 (2)

Ink:
   Misty Moonlight
   Highland Heather

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Sponging

Accessories:
   In the Woods Framelits Dies
   Snowflakes & Sequins
   Iridescent Pearls
Flowers for Every Season Combo Pack
   Sponge
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

I cut a scrap of paper at an angle to use as a mask for snow slopes. I then sponged these with Misty Moonlight directly onto the DSP.

Next, I stamped and die cut the two trees using Highland Heather Ink. I wrapped each tree with 24" of Misty Moonlight thread from the combo pack.

I attached the trees using dimensionals.

Then I stamped and fussy cut the Merry Christmas greetings and adhered them with liquid adhesive.

I added a few snowflakes, sequins, and pearls. This was then adhered to the Highland Heather card base.

White Magnolia

The white magnolia is puffed out on the vellum. When the fibers in the vellum are broken up the vellum turns white. I do like this look and feel to the card. What are your thoughts?

Stamps:
   Good Morning Magnolia

Paper:
   Soft Sea Foam A-2
   Night of Navy 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Garden Impressions DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Vellum 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Markers:
   Shaded Spruce
   Soft Sea Foam
   Sahara Sand

Technique:
   Puffy Vellum

Accessories:
   Ball Stylus
   Foam Mat
   Stamparatus/MISTI/Stamp-a-ma-jig
   Adhesive

First, I stamped the magnolia on the vellum and let it dry. I did use my MISTI to get a good impression of the magnolia. I had to stamp the middle several times.

Once the image was dry, I placed the vellum upside down on my foam mat. Using my ball stylus, I gently applied pressure in circular patters until the fibers inside the magnolia were all broken up. The black lines do not fade away, so do not worry.

Next, I colored in the leaves and the stem with my markers. I like to color on the back of the vellum to prevent any smearing.

Once dry, I stamped my sentiment on the bottom. Let it dry a bit and then adhered it to the Garden Impressions DSP. This was then adhered to the Night of Navy panel and then onto the Soft Sea Foam card base.

Vellum is perfect to use when you want to show off your background as it complements your main image.

Smart Apple

School is definitely different during this COVID-19 pandemic. It is not easy for teachers or students. Here is a 4" square card to jot a nice note to your child's teacher and let them know you are there for support. You can also use this card to encourage your student with a few words. Parent involvement has never been more important than it is now. Any thoughts?

Stamps:
   Harvest Hellos

Paper:
   Blueberry Bushel 8 x 4 scored @ 4"
   Balmy Blue 1 x 4 (2)
   Lovely Lipstick 2-1/2 x 3
   Whisper White 3-3/4" Sq.

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Basic Black Marker

Technique:
   Punching

Accessories:
   Apple Builder Punch
   1/4" Balmy Blue Organdy Ribbon
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive
   Glue Dot

Colors can easily be switched to school colors.

I stamped and punched out the Lovely Lipstick apple.

I cut and folded the card base and two strips of Balmy Blue. I adhered the strips to the top and bottom of the card.

I stamped the A+ in the center of the apple and adhered it using dimensionals. The stem and the leaf were added with liquid adhesive. The ribbon was attached using a glue dot.

I kept the card simple, so it can be embellished with a person's personal taste or inside message. The ribbon can disappear for a male teacher or student.

Nature's Pandemic

This all occasion card is a sampler of the stamps found in this stamp set. They did not all fit, but I did stamp the main images. You can choose to just stamp them or color them. Since the artist was kind enough to fill the images in with lines, coloring is optional. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Nature's Beauty

Paper:
   So Saffron A-2
   Berry Burst 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Terracotta Tile
   Tranquil Tide
   Berry Burst
   So Saffron

Technique:
   Retiform (Masking)

Accessories:
   Sponge
   Adhesive

You can find a tutorial for Retiform technique at Split Coast Stampers. I wanted more slots on my card, so I changed it up a bit.

I sponged the background with So Saffron, creating various open spaces for stamping.

Then I stamped images in each slot.

Sense of Time

Most of us think that we do not have enough time to get things done. We need more time...later...if only I could find the time.

Yet, time is constant. We cannot gain or lose it. Rain or shine, 60 seconds = a minute, 60 minutes = an hour, 24 hours = a day, etc.

So what happened? Choices happened. We set priorities, we choose what to do and how quickly to do it. Yes, sometimes we drag our feet, and other times we are energetic and enthusiastic.

Time continues...what do you choose? I chose to make this card...

Stamps:
   Sense of Time
   On the Grow

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2, 5-1/4 x 2, Scraps
   Autumn Vine DSP 5-1/4 x 4, 4-1/4 x 2-1/2

Ink:
   Chocolate Chip

Technique:
   Sponging

Accessories:
   1-3/4" Circle Punch
   Small Oval Punch
   Sponge
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

I stamped and sponged the Very Vanilla pieces with Chocolate Chip.

I then cut the DSP. You want to make sure that the DSP is right side up, if you choose one with vertical lines.

The small oval is adhered with adhesive, but the 1-3/4" circle clock face is attached using dimensionals.

Open Gate

When you need to send out those positive vibes, make this clean and simple card using one of each: stamps, ink, and paper. Monochromatic cards are just as beautiful as those with multiple colors. I chose a neutral color for this masculine card. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Let It Ride

Paper:
   Tip Top Taupe A-2

Ink:
   Tip Top Taupe

Technique:
   Monochromatic
   CAS

Accessories:
   Stamparatus/MISTI/Stamp-a-ma-jig

The use of a Stamparatus, MISTI, or Stamp-a-ma-jig is optional. It does guarantee a darker, sharper and crispier image. These tools allow you the ability to stamp multiple times on the exact same spot.

Monochromatic cards are not just elegant, but they are made easily and quickly. They are the perfect recipe for masculine cards, since most men prefer the simple, no frills kind of card.

So Sorry for Your Loss

Stencils can be used in many ways. Here is what it looks like when you wipe away acrylic paint using a stencil and a baby wipe. I must say, I am pleased with the movement of the paint and the clarity of the stencil. What are your thoughts?

Stamps:
   Sorry for Everything

Paper:
   Pineapple Punch A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Acrylic Paint:
   Yellow
   Orange
   Blue

Technique:
   Wipe Out

Accessories:
   Stencil
   Brayer
   Baby Wipes
   Stamparatus/MISTI/Stamp-a-ma-jig
   Adhesive

I advise you to use a heavy cardstock for this background technique. Have paints, brayer, stencil, and baby wipes at the ready. You must wipe away the paint before it dries.

First, apply drops of different acrylic colors on your panel, and quickly use your brayer to spread the paint on the panel.

Immediately, place the stencil over the paint and gently swipe the baby wipe across the stencil, removing some of the paint. Do not press too hard so the panel doesn't tear.

Let it dry and use it as a background.

I did not want to cover up my creation. So, I decided to just stamp a sentiment. I suggest you use a tool that will allow you to stamp several times in exactly the same spot. This way you can make the words as dark and crisp as you like. A Stamparatus, MISTI, or even the discontinued Stamp-a-ma-jig will do the trick.

Spring Birthday Wishes

Step-up your cards with several flat layers. This card displays several layers using only two colors. You can also keep it clean and simple by stamping the sentiment in the middle and surrounding it with the Botanical Blooms. Both are quite easy and beautiful. Which of these would you choose and why? Please share.

Stamps:
   Botanical Blooms
   Season by Season
   Sincere Salutations

Paper:
   Pool Party A-2, 1-3/8 x 2-1/4, 1 x 5-1/2
   Night of Navy 5-1/4 x 4, 1-1/4 x 2-1/8, 3/4 x 5-1/4
   Whisper White 5 x 3-3/4, 1-1/8 x 2

Ink:
   Pool Party
   Night of Navy

Technique:
   2-Step Stamping
   CAS

Accessories:
   Adhesive

First, I cut all of my cardstock to size.

Then I stamped my images and sentiments on the Whisper White cardstock. The blooms were stamped with Pool Party and the centers are in Night of Navy. These were stamped randomly as a background. I then stamped the sentiment on the smaller rectangle using Night of Navy ink. If you do not want to create layers, start with the sentiment in the middle of the large panel and stamp the blooms around it.

I then adhered all of the layers. Whisper White onto Night of Navy and then onto Pool Party. To assemble the card, I began from the bottom layer and worked my way up to the top.

Change the sentiment to create a different occasion. This one can be sent to say, hello, thinking of you, or just a note.

Beautiful Peacock

A peacock loves to strut its beauty for all to admire, and rightly so. Here is a card to send to a beautiful friend. Remember every person has a gift for all of us to admire. Whose gift pops into your head?

Stamps:
   Beautiful Peacock

Paper:
   Tranquil Tide A-2
   Very Vanilla 5-1/4 x 4, 3-1/4 x 4, Scrap
   Eastern Palace DSP 3-1/2 x 4-1/4

Ink:
   Dapper Denim
   Lemon Lime Twist
   Tranquil Tide

Technique:
   Two-Step Stamping
   Punching

Accessories:
   Decorative Ribbon Border Punch
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Adhesive

The 5-1/4 x 4 Very Vanilla panel is for the inside of the card.

The peacock is a two-step stamp. The body is stamped separately from its plumes. This allows you to change up the colors on its plumes if you wish.

The vine is randomly stamped with Lemon Lime Twist ink.

The sentiment uses Dapper Denim ink. Note that the sentiment can easily be changed to suit your needs. You may also opt to leave it off completely creating an all occasion card.

Written Birthday

The main reason to make a handmade card is to create a unique card for someone. Using pigment sprinkles allows you to do that quickly and easily. Check out this unique background for a birthday greeting. What do you think?

Stamps:
   None

Paper:
   Basic Black A-2, Scraps
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4
   Watercolor 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   None

Pigment Sprinkles:
   Granny Apple Green
   Melon Mambo
   Daffodil Delight
   Mango Melody
   Bermuda Bay
   Gorgeous Grape

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Watercolor

Accessories:
   Well Written Framelits Dies
   Fine Tip Glue Pen
   Adhesive

There is no perfect way to use pigment sprinkles. I shook a few flakes of two colors. Applied some water and dabbed a few spots here and there with a paper towel. I then added a few more sprinkles of another color and repeated the process until I had the panel to my liking.

I then die cut the words: happy birthday! I glued these on using my fine tip glue pen.

The Whisper White panel is for the inside of the card.
