Orange Fall Leaves

I like the sights and sounds of fall. The leaves crackle as you walk on them, and if you listen closely, you can hear them hit the ground when they fall off the tree. Many children cannot resist a pile of leaves. Just as you finish raking, children feel compelled to jump into the freshly made pile. The sound of so many leaves being crushed at once, along with the giggles of the kids having so much fun is a delight to my ears. Here is a simple card in orange.

Stamps:
   Colorful Seasons

Paper:
   Pumpkin Pie A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4, Scraps
   Basic Black Scraps

Ink:
   Pumpkin Pie
   Dusty Durango
   Tangerine Tango

Technique:
   Dry Embossing
   Die Cutting
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Layered Leaves Embossing Folder
   Seasonal Layers Thinlits
   Little Letters Thinlits
   Sponge
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I dry embossed my card front using the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This is a 3-D embossing folder that can tear your cardstock if it is too thin. You can easily spritz it with a bit of water to prevent the tearing.

I then sponged my card front with a bit of Dusty Durango.

Next, I stamped, sponged and die cut several leaves using my Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies. I stamped and sponged the leaves using Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, and Dusty Durango.

Once I die cut and sponged them, I crumbled them up a couple of times to loosen up the fibers and create a textured feel to them. I adhered them using dimensionals.

The letters were die cut with the Little Letters Thinlits. I adhered these using liquid glue. I should have arranged these letters in more of a "falling" pattern.

The other Whisper White panel is for the inside of the card.

Washi Birthday

I used neutral colors on her feathers. I am not a bird watcher or expert. So, I have no idea what color this beauty should wear. Does it matter? I think not. When you are making your own card and coloring your image, you are in control and can get as creative and outrageous as you like. Any suggestions on getting this beauty to step into the wild side?

Stamps:
   Nature Walk
   Bring on the Cake

Paper:
   Mossy Meadow A-2
   Daffodil Delight DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 5 x 3-3/4, 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Early Espresso
   Mossy Meadow

Markers:
   Soft Suede
   Crumb Cake
   Daffodil Delight
   Basic Black

Technique:
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Mossy Meadow Washi Tape
   Sponge
   Adhesive

First, I stamped my bird in the center of my Whisper White 5 x 3-3/4 panel. I then colored her using my markers.

I then sponged the bottom half of my panel using Mossy Meadow. I added a strip of washi tape to hide where the sponging ended. It also helped to establish a landing place for my bird.

I stamped my sentiment on the top of the panel.

I adhered this panel onto a Daffodil Delight DSP panel and then onto my Mossy Meadow card front. The other Whisper White panel was adhered to the inside of the card.

Thanksgivings

Thanksgiving, Fall, and Thank You all wrapped up into one card. The image is one large stamp. So, the possibilities are endless. You can choose to color only parts of it. You can fussy cut some of the images, adhere them with dimensionals, and add dimension and interest to your card. I kept mine CAS. Do you like it?

Stamps:
   Thoroughly Thankful
   Day of Gratitude

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Medium of Choice:
   Blendabilities

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Stamparatus, MISTI, Stamp-a-ma-jig

I just added a sentiment to the bottom of the card.

Red Fish

Fish? Anyone? My Dad enjoyed fishing every chance he had. Naturally, every time I see or smell fish, I think of my Dad. Here is a Father's Day card for the special Dad in your life.

Stamps:
   By the Tide
   Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper:
   Mint Macaron A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2), Scraps

Ink:
   Mint Macaron
   Archival Basic Black

Markers:
   Perfect Plum
   Real Red

Technique:
   Fussy Cutting

Accessories:
   Paper Snips
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

I stamped the fish on scraps of Whisper White. I colored them using my markers and then fussy cut them. They are attached using dimensionals.

The seaweed plants are stamped with Mint Macaron. The sentiment was added using Archival Basic Black.

The other Whisper White panel is for the inside of the card.

Sympathy Window

Vellum is fun to use on your cards. It can make a card look and feel very elegant, which is why it is often used in wedding announcements. Plus you can use it whenever to add some pizzazz or color to your card. Here is some designer vellum that I colored.

Stamps:
   Painted Glass

Paper:
   Pineapple Punch A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/2 x 3, 2 x 3
Graceful Glass Designer Series Vellum 5-1/2 x 3

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Pineapple Punch
   Various Markers

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Sponging
   Coloring Vellum

Accessories:
   Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies
   Ribbon
   Dimensionals
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

Since the vellum is transparent, the colors will change depending on what you have underneath it. So, I cut a panel of Whisper White to place my vellum. I was then able to get the actual colors to appear on the vellum.

I did start with an alcohol marker, deep blue on top left of window, but it began to go all over the place. I was able to clean it up with a paper towel. So, I used a few blends and regular markers from Stampin' Up!

I also applied the color on the front of the vellum. I think I will try coloring on the back of the vellum and see if there is any difference. I do not think there will be any difference, since the vellum is transparent.

Another idea is to not color the vellum and allow the color of the cardstock to show through.

Always, give the vellum a bit of time to dry, no matter what medium you use on it, and always have some fun. Let me know what you have done in the comments below.

I adhered the vellum with liquid adhesive and the sentiment was stamped, punched, sponged and adhered with dimensionals.

Black & White Butterfly Note

I made this background by adding drops of alcohol inks to glossy white paper. The purple does overpower the other colors, but the black and white images look great against it. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Butterfly Gala

Paper:
   Taken With Teal A-2
   Glossy White 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 3-1/4 x 4 (2), 3/4 x 2-1/2, 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks

Technique:
   Alcohol Ink Drops
   Punching

Accessories:
   Butterfly Duet Punch
   Modern Label Punch
   Glue Dots
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I made the background and set it aside to dry. It does not take long at all.

In the meantime, I stamped my butterflies and sentiment. I used my punches to cut them out. The sentiment is attached with dimensionals, and the butterflies are adhered with glue dots.

I then adhered the panel to the card base, and the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

I had another background, so I added a daisy with a button for the center. I also brought out the yellow in the background by changing the card base. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Daisy Delight
   Butterfly Gala

Paper:
   Yo Yo Yellow A-2
   Glossy White 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 3-1/4 x 4 (2), 3/4 x 2-1/2, 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks

Technique:
   Alcohol Ink Drops
   Punching

Accessories:
   Daisy Punch
   Modern Label Punch
   Corduroy Button
   Glue Dots
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

I did curl the daisy petals with my bone folder. The daisy is adhered with glue dots, and the sentiment is attached with dimensionals.

Hung by the Chimney

I enjoy die cutting and embossing as much as stamping. I like gluing all of the pieces together to make an item whole. These stockings have to be assembled which means you can change them as much as you like! There is no stamping on this card. What are your thoughts?

Stamps:
   Hang Your Stocking

Paper:
   Crumb Cake A-2
   Warmth & Cheer DSP Scraps
   Basic Black Scrap

Ink:
   Crumb Cake

Technique:
   Dry Embossing
   Die Cutting
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Brick Wall Embossing Folder
   Cable Knit Embossing Folder
   Christmas Stockings Thinlits Dies
   Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine
   Mini Jingle Bells
   Burlap Ribbon
   Glue Dots
   Sponge
   Dimensionals
   Fast Fuse
   Adhesive

First, I dry embossed my card front using the Brick Wall Embossing Folder. I sponged it with Crumb Cake to give it some dimension and a realistic appearance.

I then die cut my stockings using the Christmas Stockings Thinlits Dies. If you look closely, the stockings are dry embossed using the Cable Knit Embossing Folder. I then pieced them together using the reverse side for the heel, toe, and top.

I then die cut the NOEL for the mantle. I adhered it using some adhesive. I added a strip of burlap underneath it. I attached it using fast fuse.

I then attached the stockings using dimensionals.

I added the jingle bells and the twine using glue dots.

Formal Congrats

How often do you hear or say, "Congratulations to you"? Accomplishments should always be celebrated and acknowledged. Here is a card that lets the paper do all of the work. I titled it "Formal Congrats" because it is a black and white card with just a bit of bling. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Friendly Expressions

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2, 4 x 1-1/4
   Basic Black 5-1/4 x 4
   Black Tie Optional DSP 4 x 1, 4 x 1-1/4 (3)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   None

Accessories:
1/4" Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon (16")
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I arranged my strips of DSP onto my Basic Black panel.

I then tied a ribbon on the right hand side of it.

I added a sentiment using dimensionals.

Lastly, I adhered this Basic Black panel to the Whisper White card base.

This is a wonderful layout to use if you have coordinating strips of designer series paper.

Flaky Tree

This beautiful tree decorates a card front all by itself. Although there are die cuts that coordinate, they are not necessary. I love the simplicity of the card. You can easily duplicate it for your entire Christmas card list. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Winter Woods
   Snow Wonder

Paper:
   Pool Party A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Pool Party
   Poppy Parade
   Shaded Spruce

Technique:
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Snowflakes
   Sequins
   Stamparatus or MISTI
   Blending Brush
   Adhesive

I added Pool Party to my Whisper White panel using my blending brush. A sponge can also fulfill the task, I'm just excited about my new blending brush!

Next, I stamped my tree using Shaded Spruce. I used my Stamparatus in case I needed to stamp it more than once. I didn't! It sure is nice to be able to do that if necessary. A MISTI tool will also accomplish that task.

Keeping my card in my Stamparatus, I stamped the sentiment using Poppy Parade.

I added a few snowflakes and sequins. I then adhered my panel onto the Pool Party card base, and the other panel to the inside of the card.
