Navy Ornaments

Christmas cards should be made all year long, especially if your list is long. Whenever the mood strikes you, or when you just need to smile, make a Christmas card. The birth of Christ is sure to bring a smile to your face and joy to your life. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Ornament Keepsakes
   Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper:
   Night of Navy A-2
   Vellum 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4, Scraps

Ink:
   Night of Navy
   Cherry Cobbler

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Dry Embossing
   Punching
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Holiday Ornaments Framelits
   Snowflake Embossing Folder
   Washi Label Punch
   Frosted Sequins
   Vellum Tape
   Sponge
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I stamped and die cut my ornaments. I used Cherry Cobbler and Night of Navy.

I then dry embossed my vellum using the Snowflake embossing folder. I used vellum tape to attach it to the card base, but a few glue dots or regular adhesive will do the trick as well. I would apply these strategically, using them where the ornaments or sentiment would cover them.

Next, I stamped, punched, and sponged my sentiment. It was attached using dimensionals. I also attached the ornaments using dimensionals.

Lastly, I adhered the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card and added a few sequins to the ornaments.

Stitched Ornament

Handling a needle and thread is definitely NOT my forte. Still, I was challenged to add stitching to a card. So, I did the best I could without getting any blood on the card. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Ornament Keepsakes
   Timeless Tidings

Paper:
   Highland Heather A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Highland Heather

Technique:
   Stitching

Accessories:
   Festive Paper Piercing Pack
   Paper Piercer
   Thread
   Needle
   Adhesive

First, I stamped my ornament using Highland Heather.

I then pierced the paper on and around the ornament by aligning the Festive Paper Piercing template on the image.

I then took three strands of a left-over cross stitch thread and stitched the ornament.

I stamped my greeting on the bottom. I adhered the panel onto the card base. The other Whisper White panel was adhered to the inside of the card.
