Pensive Kitty

Here is another technique to create unique backgrounds. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper:
   Tempting Turquoise A-2
   Basic Black 5-1/4 x 4, 3-3/4 x 3-1/4
   Basic White 5 x 3-3/4, Scraps, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)
   Basic Gray 2-1/2 x 2-3/4

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Acrylic Paint:
   Turquoise

Technique:
   Dendritic

Accessories:
   Hearth & Home Framelits Dies
   Cat Punch
   Classic Label Punch
   CD Case
   Paint Brush
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I followed the tutorial found on You Tube for the Dendritic Printing. I set it aside to dry.

I then die cut the window frame, using the Hearth & Home Framelits Dies.

Next, I punched the Gray cat with the Cat Punch.

I then stamped and punched the sentiment.

Next, I assembled my card:
I adhered the Dendritic Printing onto a Basic Black matte and then onto the Turquoise card front.
I attached the window frame, using dimensionals.
I added the Gray cat, using dimensionals and adhesive.
I adhered the sentiment at the top center of the window frame with a bit of adhesive.
Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Cherry Blossom Fan

A single cherry blossom branch is quite elegant. I added a pearl at the center of each blossom for an extra glance. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Cherry Blossom
   Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper:
   Kraft A-2
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2), Scrap
   Textured/Embossed Pink DSP 1-3/4 x 5-1/4

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Markers:
   Copic Markers - Personal Choice

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Classic Label Punch
   Clear Glitter Ribbon 6"
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Dimensionals
   Tacky Tape
   Adhesive

First, I stamped the Cherry Blossom Branch on the top of a Basic White panel, using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

I then colored it with my choice of Copic Markers.

Next, I adhered the pink embossed paper at the bottom of the panel. I think this paper is a sheet from a Martha Stewart Collection that I had in my stash.

I then added a strip of the clear glitter ribbon to hide the seam and give the card a bit of glimmer.

Next, I stamped and punched the sentiment, using the Classic Label Punch. I attached it to the bottom of the card front, using dimensionals.

I then added Basic Pearl Jewels to the center of the blossoms and to the sentiment label.

Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Retired Butterfly

When you create an unusual background, you can do just about anything to dress it up for the recipient. I added a fluttering butterfly to mine. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper:
   Basic White A-2, Scrap, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)
   Tempting Turquoise 5-1/4 x 4, Scrap
   Color Me Irrisistibly DSP 5 x 3-3/4

Ink:
   Baked Brown Sugar
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Punching
   Sponge Brayer

Accessories:
   Butterfly Thinlits Dies
   Classic Label Punch
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Dimensionals
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

First, I added ink to the Color Me Irrisistibly DSP. I used a sponge brayer to apply some Baked Brown Sugar to the panel. This is an emboss-resist specialty paper. So, all I have to do is add the ink. I then wiped it down with a paper towel to allow the embossing to come through.

*If you do not have this specialty paper then simply create your own: heat emboss a panel with white embossing powder. Then apply ink to the background and wipe down with a paper towel.

I then adhered the panel onto a Tempting Turquoise panel and then onto a Basic White card front.

Next, I stamped and punched a sentiment, using Teeny Tiny Wishes, the Classic Label Punch, and Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

I then die cut a Tempting Turquoise butterfly and attached it with glue dots.

Next, I attached the sentiment to the top left of the butterfly, using dimensionals.

Lastly, I added some Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the butterfly and adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Springtime Thinking

Create your own background, using scraps of leftover ribbon. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Swirls & Curls Verses

Paper:
   Daffodil Delight A-2
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Pool Party

Technique:
   Sponging
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Scraps of Ribbon
   Butterfly Thinlits Dies
   Beautiful Wings Embossilits
   Lattice Die
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Spray Adhesive
   Classic Label Punch
   Dimensionals
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

First, I sprayed a Basic White panel with adhesive. Note - I did this outside in my driveway. Please read labels carefully.

I then used a ribbon that was wider than the others for the diagonal center of the panel. I placed it as shown above. It is the lime green with polka dots.

Next, I added the striped ribbon on each side of this one.

I then placed the dark blue polka dot one on each side, followed by a yellow and then a light blue.

Next, I repeated the pattern, until the card front was full.

I then flipped the panel and cut off all of the ends of the ribbon to make it flush with the Basic White panel.

Next, I adhered the panel onto a Daffodil Delight card front.

I then grabbed leftover die cuts from my stash. I did list all of the dies and punches that they came from in case you want to make your own.

Next, I stamped, punched, and sponged the sentiment. I attached it, using dimensionals.

I then arranged the pieces on the card and attached them with glue dots, dimensionals, or adhesive.

Lastly, I added a few rhinestones, pearls, and adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

At the end, I thought it was a bit busy. So, I may just create a ribbon background with maybe a butterfly die cut and a sentiment.

Do you remember the 70's? The time when everything was groovy and the Scooby Doo Gang was in search of solving the latest mystery? Psychedelic art was in full bloom. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper:
   Pixie Pink A-2
   Basic Black 5-1/4 x 4, Scraps
   Coloring Page 5 x 3-3/4
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

   Coloring

Accessories:
   Elegant Butterfly Punch
   Classic Label Punch
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Quilt Top Embossing Folder
   Dimensionals
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

The background was colored, using florescent markers. I removed the page from a coloring book and cut it down to size for a card.

I adhered the colored panel onto a Basic Black matte and then dry embossed it, using the Quilt Top Embossing Folder.

Next, I adhered it onto a Pixie Pink card front.

I then punched four Basic Black butterflies, using the Elegant Butterfly Punch. I attached them, using glue dots.

Next, I stamped and punched the sentiment, using the Classic Label Punch.

I then adhered the sentiment with a few dimensionals.

Lastly, I added Basic Pearl Jewels to the butterflies and adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Look around and notice your geometric world. Everything around you has a shape. So, here is a card showing off some of our most popular shapes to celebrate your special occasion. Can you name them all?

   Black Glimmer 1 x 4
   Gold Glimmer 3/4" Circle
   Basic White Scrap, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Bermuda Bay

   Balloon Framelits Dies
   Flower Dies

Golden Anniversary

Anniversaries should be celebrated. In today's fast-paced world, where technology provides us information instantaneously, few take the time to create, nourish, and grow a relationship with someone face-to-face in real time. So, take the time to celebrate all milestones. Golden anniversaries are truly rare. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Itty Bitty Greetings

Paper:
   Garden Green A-2, Scraps
   Irresistibly Yours DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside), Scrap

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   So Saffron

Technique:
   Sponging
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Petals & More Thinlits
   Classic Label Punch
   Sponge
   Paper Towel
Share What You Love Artisan Pearls
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive
   Fine Tip Glue Pen

First, I sponged So Saffron ink on the Irresistibly Yours DSP panel and then wiped it with a paper towel. This allows the embossed leaves to shine through, since they resist the ink.

I then took a scrap of Garden Green cardstock and die cut the leaves, using the Petals & More Thinlits.

Next, I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White and punched it, using the Classic Labels Punch.

I then adhered the sponged DSP panel onto the Garden Green card front.

I attached the Garden Green leaves, using the Fine Tip Glue Pen.

Next, I added the sentiment with a couple of dimensionals.

Lastly, I added a pearl, and adhered a Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Negative Turns Positive

It was time to use all the left-over bits and pieces from die cuts. These left-over pieces are referred to as the negative spaces or pieces. This gold panel was one of the first left-over pieces from this gold foil paper pack. As you can see, I cut a square slightly larger than the oval die cut that I needed at the time. So, today I used the left-over for this card. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Itty Bitty Greetings

Paper:
   Fresh Freesia A-2
   Gold Foil Paper 5 x 4, 1-7/8 x 2-3/4
   Dainty Flowers DSP 3-15/16 x 4-15/16
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside), 1/2 x 2-1/2

Ink:
   Starry Sky

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Punching

Accessories:
   Classic Label Punch
   Cross of Hope Framelits
   Heirloom Frames & Dies
   Adhesive

First, I cut a panel of DSP that was slightly smaller than the gold foil paper frame.

I adhered it, using some liquid adhesive.

I then attached this panel to the Fresh Freesia card front.

Next, I die cut a gold foil cross using the Cross of Hope Framelits and adhered it with adhesive.

I then stamped and punched out the sentiment and adhered it below the cross on the card front. I used liquid adhesive, but you can add some dimensionals, if you want it to pop.

Lastly, I adhered the Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Birthday Cross

Don't throw away your negative or left-over pieces from your die cuts. This gold oval was a left-over piece from the Heirlooms Frames & Dies. I have held on to it for months, and finally decided to use it today. I think it is a perfect background for my Smoky Slate cross. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper:
   Smoky Slate A-2, 2 x 3
   Basic Black 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Best Year Ever DSP 1 x 5-1/4 (2)
   Simply Marbleous DSP 2 x 5-1/4
   Gold Foil Paper Oval
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2), 1/2 x 2-1/4 or Scrap

Ink:
   Gorgeous Grape

Technique:
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Cross of Hope Framelits
   Heirlooms Frames & Dies
   Stitched Shapes Framelits (Largest Oval)
   Classic Label Punch
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Adhesive

First, I die cut the Smoky Slate Cross, using the Cross of Hope Framelits.

I then adhered it to a left-over Gold Foil Paper oval from my stash. It was the center from the Heirlooms Frames & Dies that I used on another card. If you do not have this die set, you can use the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Next, I stamped and punched out the sentiment, using Gorgeous Grape ink, the Classic Label Punch, and a scrap of Basic White card-stock.

I then assembled the card:

I adhered the the two Crushed Curry strips of DSP and the Gorgeous Grape Simply Marbleous DSP onto a Basic White panel.
This panel was then adhered to a Basic Black matte, and then onto the Smoky Slate card front.
Next, I adhered the Gold Foil oval with the Smoky Slate Cross onto the upper-center of the card.
I added the sentiment below it and adhered a pearl on each end of the sentiment.
Lastly, I adhered the other Basic White panel to the inside of the card.
