Horses in the Window

When you look out the window do you see the exact same thing each time?

Stamps:
   Nature Silhouettes
Retired Stampin' Up! Stamp - Unknown

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2, 4 1/4 x 3 1/2
   Whisper White 4 1/4 x 3 1/2
   Marina Mist 5 1/4 x 4
   Early Espresso 5 x 3 3/4

Ink:
   Early Espresso
   Marina Mist
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   Sponging
   Die Cutting
   Dry Embossing

Accessories:
Window Die, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Adhesive, Sponge

This card follows the same steps as "Deer in the Window." It is the next entry. I did use colored pencils to color in the horses. I then used a fine tip black marker to outline them. I also changed the sentiment.

I apologize for not knowing the name of the horse stamp, but a lady brought me the stamp and asked me to show her how to make a card with it. This is what I came up with on a moments notice.

Thank you so much for stopping by here. Let me know if I can answer any questions.

Deer in the Window

Men and nature are inseparable. Even if your man is not into any of the outdoor activities, he will say he is to get out of the household activities...well, most will.

Stamps:
   Nature Silhouettes
   Three for You

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2, 4 1/4 x 3 1/2
   Whisper White 4 1/4 x 3 1/2
   Marina Mist 5 1/4 x 4
   Early Espresso 5 x 3 3/4

Ink:
   Early Espresso
   Marina Mist
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   Sponging, Die Cutting, Dry Embossing

Accessories:
Window Die, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Sponge, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Adhesive

This is a magnificent stag posing right outside your window. Change the sentiment to use for any occasion that you need.

I sponged the Whisper White piece with Marina Mist, leaving a bit of white space.

I die cut my window on the Very Vanilla piece. You may add your sentiment on the window pane using Tuxedo Black Memento. Or, you may opt to not include a sentiment.

I then penciled in the window panes on my sponged Marina Mist panel. This way I can line up my images where I want them. You also want to make sure the sponged panel does not peek past the window pane. If it does, make sure you trim it.

I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the images exactly where I envisioned them. The tree is stamped using Early Espresso, and the stag is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento.

I dry embossed the Early Espresso panel using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.

Your card is ready to assemble:
Very Vanilla is the card base.
Adhere the Marina Mist panel with adhesive.
Then add the embossed Early Espresso panel.
   Next center the stamped panel.
Lastly, adhere the window with dimensionals.

Thank you for stopping by here. Let me know if you have any questions.

Young at Heart

You are only as old as you feel. Really? What do you think?

Stamps:
   Young at Heart

Paper:
   Blushing Bride A-2
   Follow Your Art DSP 5 1/4 x 4
   Whisper White Scraps

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Crushed Curry
   Coastal Cabana
Markers:
   Various

Technique:
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Sponge, Paper Snips, Adhesive

So, as you can see, you need to avoid any faces when you are sponging with a dark color. We will just have to say, she has a hangover before the party ends.

I also decided to have some fun with my paper snips and just snip any which way on the Whisper White card stock. Then I sponged it with Crushed Curry and Coastal Cabana.

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look-see.

Motley Monsters

What can you do with your designer series paper scraps? Personally, I do NOT like to throw anything away, especially when I paid with my hard earned money. Here is what I do.

First, I take everything out of the envelope and organize it by its printed design. Like so...

Motley Monsters DSP Scraps

You can see that I have very few really useable pieces. I begin by cutting a few card bases in the colors that blend with the paper.

I pull the largest piece and begin to play to see what I can create. Each card becomes a puzzle for me to put together. I was able to make 7 cards in all. Here they are:

Trick or Treat Pumpkins

Motley Monsters 1

Motley Monsters 2

Motley Monsters 3

Motley Monsters 4

Motley Monsters 5

Motley Monsters 6

Stamps:
   Itty Bitty Greetings

Paper:
   Sahara Sand A-2 (2)
   Tangerine Tango A-2
   Crushed Curry A-2 (2)
   Bermuda Bay A-2
   Basic Black A-2
   Whisper White A-2
   Motley Monsters DSP Scraps

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Adhesive

Here is what I did NOT use:

Not much is left over. I more than likely could squeeze out another card, but I was tired. So, these scraps were added to my larger scrap pile. It consists of an array of colors and designs. So, when I need a scrappy card...

Thank you so much for stopping by here. I would love to hear what you think, and let me know what you do with your scraps.

Goblin Greetings

Whenever you are in a hurry, let the paper do all of the work for you!

Stamps:
   Sweet Home
   Grateful Greetings

Paper:
   Tangerine Tango A-2
   Motley Monsters DSP 5 1/4 x 4
   Whisper White Scraps

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Tangerine Tango

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Sponging

Accessories:

I used a few scraps of Whisper White cardstock to stamp and die cut two ghosts and one sentiment. I adhered these with dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped using the Grateful Greetings stamp set. It was then die cut using the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies and sponged with Tangerine Tango.

The tree background is the designer series paper. It does all of the work. I think it is a great scene. What do you think?

Navy Lighthouse

Here is a masculine thank you card for the men in your circle. Whether they enjoy fishing, sailing, or none of the above, the outdoors with a helm as the embellishment is enough to  place it in a manly category.

Stamps:
   Sailing Home

Paper:
   Night of Navy A-2, Scraps
   Come Sail Away DSP 5 1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 3 1/2 x 2 1/4, 2 1/4" Circle

Ink:
   Night of Navy

Technique:
   Die Cutting, Sponging

Accessories:
Smooth Sailing Dies, Layering Circles Framelits Dies, Sail Away Trinkets, Sponge, Glue Dots, Adhesive

The silver helm embellishment is adhered with a large glue dot onto the Night of Navy one. I then added another large glue dot to the back of the Night of Navy helm and adhered it to the Whisper White circle. All of the other pieces were added using Tombow Multi Purpose Liquid Glue.

Of course this is a wonderful masculine card that can be changed to suit your needs. Just change the sentiment on the die cut circle or add a banner with a sentiment on it.
