Tempting You

Use alcohol inks to create a unique background. You can easily use a straw or compressed air to spread the inks across your glossy paper. As you can see, I used a straw, which left the Wild Plum rather dark. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   I Like You

Paper:
   Tempting Turquoise A-2
   Basic Black 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Glossy White 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Alcohol Inks:
   Stream
   Butterscotch
   Wild Plum

Technique:
   Blow Art

Accessories:
   Straw
   Adhesive

First, I added a drop of alcohol ink to the Glossy White panel.

I then used a straw to blow the ink across the panel.

Next, I repeated these two steps, adding a drop at a time, varying the colors on the panel, until it was covered.

I then set it aside to dry for a minute. It does not take long at all.

Next, I stamped a sentiment on the bottom left of the panel.

I then stamped the florals on the rest of the card.

Next, I adhered it to a Basic Black matte, and then onto the Tempting Turquoise card front.

Lastly, I added a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Thank you so much for giving me a bit of your time. Please Contact Me if I can return the favor.

Embossed Manhattan

Jazz up your embossing folder with a bit of color. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Simple Sketches

Paper:
   Soft Sky A-2
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Sweet Sugarplum

Technique:
   Dry Embossing

Accessories:
   Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder
   Adhesive

First, I added color (Sweet Sugarplum) to the flat side of the Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder, by running the ink pad over the inside of the embossing folder. Note the crevices will remain without color.

I then carefully placed the Basic White panel inside the folder and closed it, making sure the paper did not move.

Next, I ran it through the die cut and emboss machine.

I then removed the panel and rinsed and dried the embossing folder. Do not let the ink dry inside the folder or it may stain it.

Next, I fussy cut around the embossed image.

I then adhered it to the Soft Sky card front, as shown above.

Lastly, I stamped a sentiment on the top right corner of the card front and adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Valentine Kitty Collage

Have you ever had that day when everything you do is just a bit off? Here is a card I made on one of those days. I could not even get the image straight on the card front. I added, deleted, and changed a few things. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Have a Heart

Paper:
   Lavender Lace A-2
   Pink Passions Scrap
   Naturals White Scrap
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Markers:
   Pink Passion
   Early Espresso/Chocolate Chip
   Basic Black

Technique:
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Layering Circles Framelits
   Playful Palette Washi Tape
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Adhesive

The card on the left was the first card I made. My challenge was to rescue the card. It was one of the first cards I ever made, and truthfully, I was embarrassed to send it to anyone. So, the first thing I did was to remove the ribbon and toss it.

I then separated the White & Pink panels.

Next, I die cut each one with a Layering Circles Framelit.

I then took a dark brown marker and colored the cat a bit better.

Next, I added small pearls to the dress, and accented the features on the cat, using a Basic Black marker.

I then adhered the image circle onto the Pink circle and attached them to the center of the card front.

Next, I added some washi tape to the top and bottom of the card as shown.

Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Ugly Tree

Sometimes an image is better in your head than on paper. I tried to fix it, but the more I messed with it, the worse I made it. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper:
   Garden Green A-2
   Watercolor 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Just Jade
   Garden Green
   Old Olive
   Mossy Meadow
   Early Espresso

Watercolor Pencil:
   Early Espresso

Technique:
   Sponge a Tree

Accessories:
   Sponge
   Adhesive

I accepted a challenge to sponge a tree, using a regular kitchen sponge.

First, I chose some greens for the canopy of the tree: Just Jade, Garden Green, Old Olive, and Mossy Meadow.

I then wet the sponge and applied the various greens, trying to shape a tree canopy. I used different parts of the sponge for the different colors and rinsed it between colors if necessary. As you can see, I was making a mess and the shape in my head was not being transformed onto my watercolor panel.

Next, I grabbed an Early Espresso watercolor pencil and attempted to draw a tree trunk and some branches. I definitely need to stick with stamping rather than drawing.

I then stamped a sentiment on the top right corner and left the panel to completely dry.

Lastly, I adhered the panel onto a Garden Green card front and added a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.
