Love Birds

Do you hold onto everything until it breaks or disappears? I do! Consequently, here is a card made with discontinued paper and retired builder punches. It also uses a stamp from a retired stamp set. Still, Love never expires, so this card can be sent whenever there are two people being united for love: Valentine's Day, Anniversary, Wedding, etc.

Stamps:
   I (heart) Hearts

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2, Scraps
Real Red 2" Square + Scrap
   Stacked with Love DSP 5 1/4 x 4
   Back to Black DSP

Ink:
   Basic Black
   Real Red

Technique:
   Sponging
   Builder Punch

Accessories:
Sweetheart Punch, Bow Builder Punch, Bird Builder Punch, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Crystal Effects, Sponge, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Adhesive

The only stamping is the word "love" from the I (heart) Hearts stamp set. I used Real Red Classic Ink. I think it looks really cute, but it can easily be replaced or deleted.

The A-2 card base and birds use Whisper White. The wings are adhered using dimensionals, and the birds are sponged with Basic Black. I also used Crystal Effects on the eyes of the birds, but again this is a personal preference and it can be omitted completely.

The Stacked with Love DSP was used as a background for the card. The Back to Black DSP was used on the bow and attached using a glue dot. I used the Sweetheart punch on Real Red card stock. This is the large red heart behind the bow.

Celebrate Balmy Blue

This is a simple, masculine card to celebrate any occasion: birthday, retirement, graduation, a new beginning, etc. Maybe you just want to celebrate tomorrow because it comes around only once a year! Of course, you can change the celebrate to any sentiment you want! What do you think?

Stamps:
   Winter Woods

Paper:
   Balmy Blue A-2
   Whisper White 2 1/2 x 3 1/8
   Gingham Gala DSP 1 1/4 x 5 1/2
   So Saffron 3 1/4 x 4, Scrap

Ink:
   Early Espresso
   So Saffron

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Sponging
   Punching

Accessories:
   Hearth & Home Framelits Dies
   Love & Happiness Rub Ons
   Word Window Punch
   Sponge
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I sponged my Whisper White with So Saffron, and then stamped the trees from the Winter Woods stamp set using Early Espresso.

Second, I die cut my window and adhered the image of the trees behind it. Make sure that none of the Whisper White peeks around the Window Frame sides.

Third, I adhered the Balmy Blue Gingham DSP onto the card base. I then added the window frame.

Lastly, I rubbed on the sentiment onto a scrap of So Saffron and adhered it using dimensionals.

The card is simple and easy to create. The sentiment can be changed out to suit your needs.

Inspire

What is it about glitter that causes everyone to get perked up and inspired? Everyone seems to jump onto the glimmer, glitz, and gorgeous bandwagon.

Stamps:
   None

Paper:
   Pool Party A-2, 1 1/2 x 2 3/4
   Cottage Wall DSP 5 1/4 x 4
   Poppy Parade 1 1/2 x 2 3/4
   Silver Glimmer 3/8" Strips (10)

Ink:
   None

Technique:
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
Sweet Silhouettes Dies, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Adhesive

"Inspire" is die cut in Pool Party and Poppy Parade. I adhered the Poppy Parade on top of the Pool Party and off set it to the right a bit in order to give it a shadow effect. This also balances the Pool Party color on the card.

My designer paper is pretty ancient, but I like using what I have on hand. The best thing about Stampin' Up! products is that they always coordinate with current colors and products. The items may be discontinued, but they never go out of style. Basically, you can use them until they are gone.

The die cut I used coordinates with the Silhouette Scenes stamp set found in our current annual catalog. This is another example of products still working together no matter how much time has gone by.

Note too that the silver strips I used were just leftover pieces that many crafters would have discarded. I, on the other hand, keep them until they disappear somehow.

Thanks for stopping and taking a peek. Your likes, shares, pins, questions, and comments are encouraged and appreciated.

Vellum Flower

A unique trifold card for someone special. I really like the color combination on this card.

Stamps:
   You've Got This

Paper:
   Basic Black 5 1/2 x 4 1/4, 4 x 1 1/4
   Mint Macaron 5 1/4 x 8, 3 3/4 x 1
   Very Vanilla 5 x 7 1/2
   Vellum 2 3/4" Strip

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Mint Macaron

Technique:
   Trifold Card
   Die Cutting
   Distressing

Accessories:
Starburst Framelits Dies, Stylus, Paper Piercing Mat, Glue Dots, Distressing Tool, Adhesive

First, fold the Mint Macaron piece in half. Open it and run it through your die cutting machine using the Starburst Framelits Dies.

Fold the Very Vanilla piece in half and adhere it upside down so that it opens left to right. (You will stamp on the outside and then open it to write your personal thoughts.)

I then closed the Mint Macaron card and made light pencil marks to mark my circle on the Very Vanilla. This way I can center my stamped flower.

Stamp the background using Mint Macaron and then the flower with Archival Basic Black. Don't forget to erase your pencil marks.

I then stamped the flower on a piece of vellum. Turning the flower upside down on my piercing foam mat, I gently rubbed it using my stylus. As the stylus broke up the fibers in the vellum it turned white and caused it to rise a bit. I then adhered it onto the stamped flower with glue dots. Here is the inside of the card.

I then stamped my sentiment on the 3 3/4 x 1 Mint Macaron piece and distressed the edges with my distress tool. You can also use scissors to accomplish this effect. I then adhered it to the Basic Black piece, and then onto the Mint Macaron card. Note that this Very Vanilla piece will open from the left to the right making the third fold.

Lastly, I adhered the Mint Macaron card onto the Basic Black 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece.

Best Holiday Season

Always allow beautiful paper to do the work for you. This All is Bright Designer Series Paper is so gorgeous that I did not even need to use any stamps on it. I took a 3" square and cut it into nine 1" squares. I then adhered them onto a 4" Cherry Cobbler square. I added a Whisper White rub-on sentiment on the bottom and called it a day. What do you think?

   Shaded Spruce A-2
   Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4 (Inside)
   Cherry Cobbler 4" Square
All is Bright DSP 3" Sq. cut into 1" Sq.

Ornaments and Pines

Ornaments and pine cones mixed together with a bit of shimmer paint make a wonderful Christmas card. Do you agree?

Stamps:
   Good Greetings
   Ornamental Pine

Paper:
   Wild Wasabi A-2
   Melon Mambo 5 1/2 x 2 1/2, Scraps
   Basic Gray 1 1/2 x 1 3/4 (5)
   Whisper White 1 3/8 x 1 5/8 (5)

Ink:
   Melon Mambo
   Wild Wasabi
   Basic Gray
   Frost White Shimmer Paint

Technique:
   Punching
   Sponging

Accessories:
Doily Triple Layer Punch, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Sponge Dauber, Adhesive

I used a sponge dauber to apply the Frost Shimmer Paint on the three punched snowflakes. I grouped them together on the card to make them look like a doily.

The ornaments were inked using Melon Mambo and the pine cones were inked with Wild Wasabi.

Thank you so much for stopping and taking a peek. Let me know if you have any questions. The layout is quite interesting and can be used with any stamps and inks you have on hand.

Golden Sleigh

This is a card to celebrate those born during the Christmas Season. I have two brothers who were blessed as such: one on the 11th and the other on the 22nd. What is it with repetitious digits? Was my mother destined to make the same mistake over and over? Nope. I came along and broke the cycle... Here is the card:

Stamps:
   Magical Mermaid

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2
   Winter Wonderland DSP 2 1/2 x 4 1/4
   Basic Black 2 1/2 x 4
   Gold Foil 2 x 3 1/4

Ink:
   Basic Black

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   CAS

Accessories:
   Santa's Sleigh Framelits Dies
   1/8" Gold Ribbon (4 1/4")
   Adhesive
   Micro Glue Dots

Although it is not necessary, I recommend the use of a Stamparatus or MISTI. This will ensure that your sentiment will be stamped as dark as you like it.

Haunted

Happy New Year! I apologize for not being present the last month and a half of 2019, but this year I am feeling quite optimistic - I choose to not be "Haunted" by this past year.

I used Gorgeous Grape to stamp the raven. I think it makes him stand out on the card. Don't you?

Stamps:
   The Raven

Paper:
   Basic Black A-2
   Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4, 2 1/2 x 5 1/2
   Halloween Night DSP 3/4 x 5 1/2 (2)

Ink:
   Basic Black
   Early Espresso
   Gorgeous Grape

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Halloween Night Enamel Dots, Adhesive

Although it is not necessary, I do recommend the use of a Stamparatus or MISTI if you have one. This will ensure that your image and sentiments are dark and crisp.
