Birthday Burst

The Stamparatus makes it easy to duplicate or mass produce some cards. This tool is unique because it allows you four different surfaces to use for exact positioning. Here is a birthday card I made using my Stamparatus. Obviously, the Stamparatus is not a necessity for creating, but it does make it easier.

Stamps:
   Charming Cafe
   Beautiful You
   Beautiful Day

Paper:
   Berry Burst A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Berry Burst
   Archival Basic Black

Markers:
   Melon Mambo
   Berry Burst
   Old Olive
   Real Red
   Pear Pizzazz
   Sweet Sugarplum

Technique:
   Stamparatus
   Paper Piercing

Accessories:
   Paper Piercer
   Stamparatus
   Adhesive

First, I positioned my frame on the Whisper White panel, making sure I left enough room at the bottom for the sentiment. I picked up the stamp with the Stamparatus. Inked and stamped the frame.

Second, I positioned the figure inside the frame. I flipped the panel of the Stamparatus and picked up the stamp. I then inked and stamped the figure inside the frame.

Third, I positioned the stamp to color in the dress. I picked up the stamp with another panel of the Stamparatus. I inked and stamped the inside of the dress.

Lastly, I positioned the sentiment stamp. I flipped the second panel of the Stamparatus and picked up the sentiment. I inked and stamped the sentiment.

I then used my markers to color in the flowers on the frame and the ladies hat.

I pierced the corners of the Whisper White panel and then put the card together.

Hoppy Frog

Here is a great layout to use up some of those designer series paper (DSP) scraps. Basically, you can choose any shape you like and arrange the pieces behind your focal point. I chose a 1-1/4" square for mine.

Stamps:
   Very Punny

Paper:
   Garden Green A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside), 1/4" Sq.
Motley Monsters DSP 1-1/4" Sq. (8), 1-3/8" Sq.

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Markers:
   Basic Black
   Garden Green
   Daffodil Delight

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Adhesive

My DSP is double sided so I can easily flip it over and the colors will blend and work together.

When you make your own cards, there is nothing set in stone. Your focal point and sentiment can easily be changed to meet your present need. I made this one for a challenge that asked us to use a pun on our cards. Thus, "Hoppy for you!" was born.

Thank you so much for stopping by here and taking a peek. Let me know if you have any questions or need any SU supplies.

OSW Yields 13 Poppy Cards

If you spend your money on beautiful paper, you should use it ALL. Here are 13 cards I created from one 12 x 12 Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper.

If you like what you see, read on...

I began with this one 12 x 12 sheet:

Before you begin to cut, you should always make sure that your paper is facing the right way. Sometimes, it doesn't matter, especially with an abstract design, but sometimes it DOES matter.

Here is the template I used to cut my sheet. The number in pink refers to the card number.

I did turn my sheet sideways and cut at the 5-1/2 mark and the 5-1/4 mark. This left me with the strip in the middle. I then cut the large panels at 4", yielding 6 panels. I then played with each panel to get more than one card out of a few.

Each card is blogged separately with its details. Here is a quick peek at each one with its name for reference.

OSW #1 Poppy Friend

OSW #2 Poppy Life

OSW # 3 Poppy Moments

OSW #4 Poppy Heart

OSW #11 Poppy Graduation

Cut a panel of designer series paper (DSP) on the diagonal and pull it apart. You have now created a space for a sentiment or embellishments. I chose a stamp from the Itty Bitty Greetings set for my card.

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

OSW #7 Poppy Congratulations

Adding different embellishments to a card makes it unique. This card makes use of buttons, sequins, tags, and foam cut-outs. It does help that Stampin' Up! offers a collection of coordinating products. You can purchase all of them with one button or choose only the ones you like.

Stamps:
   Peaceful Moments

Paper:
   Crushed Curry A-2
   Old Olive 1-1/2 x 5-1/2
Peaceful Poppies DSP 1-1/4" Sq. (3)

Ink:
   Whisper White Craft

Technique:
   Heat Embossing

OSW #6 Poppy Birthday

Two-sided Designer Series Paper (DSP) allows you to flip it over and create a completely different card. I used the flip side on the following card.

Stamps:
   Painted Poppies
   Peaceful Moments

Paper:
   Flirty Flamingo A-2
Peaceful Poppies DSP 4 x 5-1/2 (cut on diagonal 1" from the top and bottom)
   Old Olive 3-3/8 x 2-1/4

Ink:
   Flirty Flamingo
   VersaMark

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Heat Embossing

Accessories:
   Painted Labels Dies
   Peaceful Poppies Elements
   Peaceful Poppies Sequins
   Embossing Buddy
   Shimmer Black Embossing Powder
   Dimensionals
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

The poppies on the bottom of the card were stamped with Flirty Flamingo.

The sentiment was heat embossed using the  Shimmer Black Embossing Powder. It really shines and glimmers in real life. I adhered it using dimensionals.

Having all of the coordinating products allows this card to come together quickly and easily.

Here is the template I made for this one sheet wonder. This is card number 6. I flipped the paper over, but you can choose to leave it as is. The DSP would then be adhered to the top right hand corner.

Thank you for stopping by here and taking a peek. I appreciate your time.

The new catalog goes live on June 3rd. If you do not have a demonstrator and would like a catalog, contact me. I would be happy for the opportunity to earn your business.

Please share, like, pin, and leave your comments.

HAPPY STAMPING!

OSW #5 Poppy Happiness

Cutting Designer Series Paper (DSP) on a diagonal line adds interest to your card. This one cut, splitting a panel, also allows you to create two cards instead of one.

Stamps:
   Peaceful Moments

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2
Peaceful Poppies DSP 4 x 5-1/2 (cut on diagonal, 1" from top and bottom)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Poppy Parade

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

Notice that I measured 1" from the top and the bottom of the DSP panel. I then cut diagonally from one mark to the other.

The ribbon was Whisper White. I dyed it with Poppy Parade and let it dry. The color faded, so it looks more like a Calypso Coral or Blushing Bride.

The template I made yields 13 cards total. This is card number 5. Here is the template:

   Pool Party A-2
   Peaceful Poppies DSP 3 x 5-1/2

   Blackberry Bliss
   Pool Party

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Painted Labels Dies
   Peaceful Poppies Sequins
   Sponge
   Dimensionals
   Glue Dots

The sentiment was sponged with Pool Party. Note that it can be changed to meet your needs.
