Grand Life

Whenever I play with a new technique or tool, I create many panels that will be placed in a pile for use as scratch paper. Since I was challenged to rescue a mistake, I took one of the panels and stamped on it. I then wrapped some jute twine around it and adhered it with some fast fuse to my card base. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Life Is Grand

Paper:
   Peekaboo Peach A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Blackberry Bliss

Acrylic Paint:
   Orange
   Blue
   Brown

Technique:
   Gel Press

Accessories:
   Jute Twine
   Fast Fuse

If my memory serves me well, when I made this panel, I was playing with my gel press and trying to create texture on the background. So, I used a large, coarse watercolor brush to spread my colors. I also used a stamp to try a create an impression. I guess it is not too bad when it is combined with a few other elements.

Blotchy Thoughts

Watercolor and be amazed at your results. I am no artist, but I do not think there is a right or wrong way to watercolor. As I was applying my color to this background, I kept thinking what can I do to make it stand out. So, I made blotches. I added more water in droplets. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Rose Wonder
   Serene Silhouettes

Paper:
   Daffodil Delight A-2
   Basic Black 5 1/4 x 4
   Watercolor 3 3/4 x 5
   Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Pool Party
   Daffodil Delight
   Crumb Cake
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   Watercolor Droplets

Accessories:
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Aqua Painter
   Adhesive

There are so many different techniques out there by artists who know what they are doing. I tend to get it all jumbled up in my head. To make these blotches, you simply add water drops onto the paper. You can also lift the color off the page.

What you must remember is to let the watercolor background dry completely before you stamp.

Once, I stamped it, I adhered the layers together.

Thanks Wreath

Do you need an alphabet and number stamp set? Here is one that includes upper-case, lower-case, and more than one font. You can fulfill the angel policy requirements, if you sell your cards, plus the common phrases to take credit for your work, usually stamped on the back panel, are also included. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Make a Difference
   Clear Thank You Stamps (?)

Paper:
   Rococo Rose A-2
   Pressed Petals DSP 5-1/2 x 4-1/4
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Enamel Shapes
Share What You Love Embellishment Kit
   Stamparatus/MISTI
   Adhesive

This is a CAS card because I only stamped one word in the middle of a designer series panel. I then added a rose and three enamel hearts.

Oops, this thanks is from an unknown clear stamp set. So, I took another panel from the same designer series paper pack and stamped thanks using the Make a Difference stamp set. I will finish the card with embellishments just like the one above. Here is the card front to let you see the stamp set in action.

Thanks Daffodil

Clean And Simple (CAS) cards can be more elegant and appealing than those filled with accessories. This one does include a bit of ribbon, but it is still a CAS card. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Dragonfly Garden
   Clear Thank You Stamp (?)

Paper:
   Daffodil Delight A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Daffodil Delight
   Flirty Flamingo

Technique:
   CAS
   2-Step Stamping

Accessories:
   1/4" Daffodil Delight Grosgrain Ribbon
   Adhesive

First, I stamped the flowers. This is one stamp.

Then I stamped the dragonflies all around the top of the flowers and along the right edge.

I then stamped the dragonfly on the top half of the card, and the sentiment on the bottom.

I decided to add a tinge of color to the large dragonfly only. The stamp set includes a wing stamp to add color to each wing separately. You can also color the wing in with makers or your favorite medium. I chose to take the quick and easy route. So, I used the stamp with Daffodil Delight on the bottom wings and Flirty Flamingo on the top wings.

I then tied Daffodil Delight ribbon around the Whisper White panel and adhered it to the card base. The other Whisper White panel was adhered to the inside of the card.

There is a Dragonfly punch for those of you who like to add a bit of dimension to your card.

Thank you so very much for being here. I appreciate you taking the time to glance at my work. Please Contact Me if I can be of service.

Hummingbird in Flight

Adding color to this hummingbird is easy using this three-step stamp set. Each step adds a bit more detail to the hummingbird. So, if you change the color on each step, the details will vary in color, making you a creative genius. By adding an extra wing and tail feathers, this hummingbird is caught in mid flight. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Picture Perfect

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2, 1 x 5-1/2 (3), 2-3/4" Sq., Scraps
   Soft Sky 1-1/8 x 5-1/2 (3), 3-1/4" Sq.
   Cucumber Crush 3" Sq.

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Daffodil Delight
   Tangerine Tango
   Tempting Turquoise
   Soft Sky

Technique:
   3-Step Stamping
   Dry Embossing

Accessories:
   Tiny Triangles Embossing Folder
   Dimensionals
   Paper Snips
   Adhesive

First, I stamped the hummingbird twice on a scrap piece of Whisper White using Soft Sky.

The second stamp adds a bit more detail to the hummingbird. I used Tempting Turquoise.

The third detailed stamp was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento.

I then stamped a bit of Daffodil Delight on the wing and the neck.

I then added just a tinge of Tangerine Tango to the neck. I then fussy cut the hummingbird. On the second one, I used the wing and the tail only. You can use a scrap of Whisper White that is large enough for just that part of the hummingbird.

I then took the Whisper White square and stamped my sentiment on the bottom right corner using Tuxedo Black Memento.

The Whisper White square was then adhered to the Cucumber Crush square and then onto the Soft Sky square. I set this aside.

I then took the three strips of Whisper White and dry embossed them using the Tiny Triangles Embossing Folder. Of course you can use any embossing folder that you have on hand. You can also skip the embossing if you choose.

I then adhered the Whisper White strips onto the Soft Sky Strips. These were then placed on the Whisper White card base. I then adhered the top strip to the card base, followed by the bottom strip, and lastly, the middle strip was adhered. This way I was able to space them evenly on the card base.

I then added the Square panel with the sentiment onto the middle of the card using dimensionals.

I adhered the hummingbird using dimensionals. I adhered the extra wing and tail.

I cased this card from Brandy Godush-Cox. You can click on her name and see her card and video!

Black Roses

I like the combination of Basic Black and Kraft so much that I made another card. This one is a get-well card. I hope you like it.

Stamps:
   Healing Hugs

Paper:
   Basic Black A-2
   Kraft 5-1/2 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Basic Black

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Black Rhinestone Jewels
   Adhesive

I began with my panel of Kraft and stamped my sentiment on the top left of the panel.

I then randomly stamped my black roses and then the leaves.

I added the black rhinestones under the sentiment.

I then adhered the Kraft panel onto the Basic Black card base. The other Kraft panel is for the inside of the card. You can easily switch this panel to a Whisper White and cut it to 5-1/4 x 4 to give it a black border all the way around it.

Island Dream

You have to get up close and personal to see the sparkle in this card. Otherwise, all you can do is dream a little. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Dream a Little

Paper:
   Island Indigo A-2
   All ABloom DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic Black 3-5/8 x 4-1/4
   Whisper White 3-3/8 x 4, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Island Indigo
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Markers
   Chalks

Technique:
   Punching

Accessories:
   Clear Wink of Stella
   Clear Glitter Tape
   Corner Rounder Punch
   Adhesive

First, I applied a light pink chalk to the Whisper White 3-3/8 x 4 panel.

Next, I stamped the flower and the sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento.

I then stamped the hummingbird using Island Indigo. I added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to its wing tips and tail.

I colored in the flower using markers.

I punched the corners with my corner rounded punch and adhered the panel to the Basic Black panel.

This was then adhered to the upper half of the All ABloom DSP panel. I then added a strip of Clear Glitter tape to the bottom of the panel.

This was then adhered to the Island Indigo card base. The other Whisper White panel was adhered to the inside of the card.

Thoughtful Rosie

I like to keep a package of note cards at the ready in case I need to make a stack of cards. Since the base is 5 x 7 scored at 3-1/2, the card must be clean and simple. This means you only need three ingredients: stamps, ink, and paper. I like to keep the ink to one color. If the recipient wants two colors, I will stamp the sentiment in another color. Here are two thank you cards to demonstrate what I mean. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Floral Phrases

Paper:
   Whisper White 5 x 7 Note Card

Ink:
   Blueberry Bushel
   Merry Merlot

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   None

These note cards and envelopes are sold in a package of 20 for $7, item #159232. Order HERE. They are also sold in Very Vanilla.

First, I stamped the floral design on the top of the card.

I then stamped the sentiment in the middle of the card front.

Lastly, I stamped the floral border on the bottom third of the card.

Using a Stamparatus or MISTI tool will speed the process, guarantee exact placement, and keep all of the cards uniform.

Round About Father

I was challenged to create a card with round images and items. So, I grabbed my Circle Circus stamp set and began stamping. This is a retired set that I consider timeless. I like the various designs inside the circles. You can choose to color these or leave them as they are. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Circle Circus
   Itty Bitty Greetings

Paper:
   Gray Granite A-2
   Brights Collection DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White Scraps, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Gray Granite
   Mango Melody
   Rich Razzleberry

Technique:
   Punching

Accessories:
   Various Circle Punches
   1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch
   Brights Buttons
   Classic Label Punch
   Glue Dots
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I stamped different circle designs on Whisper White scraps using all three colors.

Next, I punched them out with their coordinating circle or scallop punch. Note that these can easily be cut with scissors if you do not own the punches.

I then stamped a sentiment on a scrap strip of Whisper White using Rich Razzleberry. I punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.

I adhered the Brights Collection DSP panel onto the card front.

I then randomly adhered three of the circles and the scallop circle onto the card front.

Next, I added dimensionals to the remaining circles and sentiment. I added them where I thought they looked nice. I then added two buttons using glue dots.

Lastly, I adhered the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Silhouette Birthday

This background is made using a simple, but amazing watercolor technique. If you have an acrylic clear block, markers, and a water mister, you are good to go. Do you like it? I like the blurry look. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Wetlands
   Serene Silhouettes

Paper:
   Crumb Cake A-2
   Tempting Turquoise 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic Black 3-1/2 x 4-1/2
   Whisper White 3-1/4 x 4-1/4, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Markers:
   Tempting Turquoise
   Green Galore
   Crumb Cake

Technique:
   Watercolor - Acrylic Clear Block

Accessories:
   Acrylic Clear Block "E"
   Water Mister

First, I colored my acrylic clear block with my markers. Tempting Turquoise on the top, Green Galore in the middle, and Crumb Cake on the bottom.

I then sprayed the block with my water mister, keeping the block level.

I then placed it onto my Whisper White panel. I left it there for a few seconds to allow the paper to soak up the ink.

I then carefully, lifted my block and set the panel aside to dry. I wiped my clear block clean.

Once the panel was dry, I stamped my tree silhouettes and sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento.

I then adhered all of the layers together.
