Sympathy Garden

I used an embossing resist technique to create this chalkboard effect. The watercolor brush strokes remind me of the chalk powder left after erasing the board.

Stamps:
   Woven Heirlooms

Paper:
   Soft Sea Foam A-2
   Garden Impressions DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 5 x 3-3/4

Ink:
   Night of Navy
   VersaMark

Technique:
   Embossing Resist

Accessories:
   Embossing Buddy
   Clear Embossing Powder
   Curvy Corner Trio Punch
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, rub the embossing buddy over the Whisper White cardstock.

Stamp your image using VersaMark.

Pour clear embossing powder over the image.

Pour off the excess back into the container.

Heat emboss the image. Let it cool.

Apply ink onto the entire Whisper White piece. I used a watercolor brush with Night of Navy ink.

Rub embossed image with a paper towel to remove ink from embossing.

Use a corner punch for the corners. Attach piece using dimensionals.

A tutorial for this technique can be found HERE.

Lotus Blossom Thanks

Say it with flowers. Flowers are presented for all occasions. This particular lotus blossom is a 3-Step stamp. Take a look:

Stamps:
   Lotus Blossom
   Chalk Talk

Paper:
   Marina Mist A-2
   Always Artichoke 5-1/4 x 4
   Irresistibly Yours DSP 5 x 3-3/4
   Whisper White Scraps

Ink:
   Always Artichoke
   Marina Mist
   Melon Mambo
   Strawberry Slush
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   3-Step Stamping
   Brayer

Accessories:
   Brayer
   Large Oval Punch
   Dimensionals

The blossom is stamped 3 times. Each stamp is highlighting a different part of the flower. So, you can choose a different color for the various stamps. I used only Strawberry Slush on mine. I did stamp it on a scrap piece of Whisper White and then cut it out using my paper snips. It is attached using dimensionals.

The stem was stamped using Always Artichoke and then cut out. I adhered it with adhesive.

The DSP has an embossing resist technique on it. So, you add ink and then wipe it down with a paper towel. The leaves shine through and the ink is attached to the background.

The sentiment was stamped, colored, and punched out using the large oval punch. I used Tuxedo Black Memento, Always Artichoke and Melon Mambo. It is attached with dimensionals.

Thank you for stopping by here and taking a peek. I appreciate your time and comments. Do let me know what you think.

Kitty

Check out this adorable cat hidden among the leaves. I actually had to punch out a solid Poppy Parade Cat and add it as a shadow so she would stand out a bit.

Stamps:
   Nine Lives

Paper:
   Poppy Parade A-2, Scraps
   Crushed Curry 5 1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4, Scraps
   Irresistibly Yours DSP 5 x 3 3/4

Ink:
   Poppy Parade
   Crushed Curry
   Pumpkin Pie

Technique:
   Emboss Resist
   3-Step Stamping
   Punching

Accessories:
Cat Punch, Postage Stamp Punch, Dimensionals, Adhesive

I took a scrap of Whisper White and stamped my cats. I made two cards, so you will see double of everything. Here are the colors I used for each of the stamps.

As you can see I always stamp on my scratch paper before stamping on my card stock.

Next, I punched out my cats with the Cat Punch.

I then took my sentiment and stamped it on the corners of my Whisper White cardstock. I used my paper snips to cut it out.

Next, I used my Life Changing Brushes from Picket Fence and added three colors onto my Irresistibly Yours DSP. Crushed Curry on the top, followed by Pumpkin Pie, and then Poppy Parade at the bottom. I then took a paper towel and wiped the DSP revealing the white embossed leaves. Here are two panels. Before and After wiping with a paper towel.

Colors can be sponged on if you do not have brushes.

Lastly, I punched out two Poppy Parade pieces using my Postage Stamp Punch. I spread them out to cover two corners of my sentiment. The cat and the sentiment were attached using dimensionals. The other layers were adhered with regular adhesive.

Rain Dance

Watercolor Embossing Resist is the name of the technique used on the Color Me Irresistibly Designer Series Paper.

Stamps:
   Beautiful You (SU)
   Blue Skies (Verve)

Paper:
   Island Indigo A-2
   Color Me Irresistibly 5 1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Soft Sky
   Tuxedo Black Memento
Markers:
   Island Indigo
   Pool Party

Technique:
   Watercolor
   Watercolor Embossing Resist

Accessories:
   Aqua Pen, Adhesive

All I had to do with this Color Me Irresistibly DSP was to cut it to size. Watercolor on it with my Soft Sky. Let it dry. Then wipe it down with a paper towel and watch the raindrops pop out on the paper. I then stamped my Beautiful You dancer and the sentiment from the Blue Skies stamp set. I used my Island Indigo marker to color in her dress and hat. The Pool Party marker was used to color in the puddle underneath her feet. I then wiped these down to make sure the raindrops came through. I was so excited about this that I did not pay attention to the direction of the raindrops. Oops! I think it is fine. What do you think?

Thank you so much for stopping by here. I appreciate your time and your thoughts.
