Floating Lotus

I am constantly learning new techniques from so many who are willing to share their creativity with everyone. I do my best to follow their lead and create a likeness of their original idea. Still, no matter what, there is nothing like the original. Thoughts?

Jan Tinklenberg came up with this idea and does a wonderful job showing and explaining her technique. Please take the time to watch and learn her process. Click on her video or link for Lotus Blossom on the Water:

Yellow Roses

This 3-step stamp set makes it easy to add color and accents. The main focus is to align the image for each step. This is where a Stamp-a-ma-jig plays a vital role. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Simple Sketches

Paper:
   Daffodil Delight A-2, 2 x 4-3/4
   All ABloom DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 4-3/4 x 3-3/4, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)
   Island Indigo 1/2 x 4-3/4

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Daffodil Delight
   Crushed Curry
   Delightful Dijon

Technique:
   3-Step Stamping

Accessories:
   Stamp-a-ma-jig
   Button Bouquet
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

First, I stamped the roses across the top of the smaller Basic White panel, using Daffodil Delight.

I then added some accents, using Crushed Curry.

Next, I added the line image, using Delightful Dijon. Note, some stampers like to work from the darkest to the lightest tones. You need to do whatever works for you.

I then adhered the Daffodil Delight panel to the bottom of the Basic White panel, and then adhered the Island Indigo strip to cover the seam.

Next, I stamped the sentiment, using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and stamped a butterfly to the left of it with a bit of Crushed Curry.

I then assembled the card. I adhered the DSP panel onto the Daffodil Delight card front, and then added the stamped panel to the center of the card front.

Lastly, I added three buttons, using glue dots, and adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Hummingbird in Flight

Adding color to this hummingbird is easy using this three-step stamp set. Each step adds a bit more detail to the hummingbird. So, if you change the color on each step, the details will vary in color, making you a creative genius. By adding an extra wing and tail feathers, this hummingbird is caught in mid flight. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Picture Perfect

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2, 1 x 5-1/2 (3), 2-3/4" Sq., Scraps
   Soft Sky 1-1/8 x 5-1/2 (3), 3-1/4" Sq.
   Cucumber Crush 3" Sq.

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Daffodil Delight
   Tangerine Tango
   Tempting Turquoise
   Soft Sky

Technique:
   3-Step Stamping
   Dry Embossing

Accessories:
   Tiny Triangles Embossing Folder
   Dimensionals
   Paper Snips
   Adhesive

First, I stamped the hummingbird twice on a scrap piece of Whisper White using Soft Sky.

The second stamp adds a bit more detail to the hummingbird. I used Tempting Turquoise.

The third detailed stamp was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento.

I then stamped a bit of Daffodil Delight on the wing and the neck.

I then added just a tinge of Tangerine Tango to the neck. I then fussy cut the hummingbird. On the second one, I used the wing and the tail only. You can use a scrap of Whisper White that is large enough for just that part of the hummingbird.

I then took the Whisper White square and stamped my sentiment on the bottom right corner using Tuxedo Black Memento.

The Whisper White square was then adhered to the Cucumber Crush square and then onto the Soft Sky square. I set this aside.

I then took the three strips of Whisper White and dry embossed them using the Tiny Triangles Embossing Folder. Of course you can use any embossing folder that you have on hand. You can also skip the embossing if you choose.

I then adhered the Whisper White strips onto the Soft Sky Strips. These were then placed on the Whisper White card base. I then adhered the top strip to the card base, followed by the bottom strip, and lastly, the middle strip was adhered. This way I was able to space them evenly on the card base.

I then added the Square panel with the sentiment onto the middle of the card using dimensionals.

I adhered the hummingbird using dimensionals. I adhered the extra wing and tail.

I cased this card from Brandy Godush-Cox. You can click on her name and see her card and video!

Back in the Day

Generation gaps will always exist. Our parents never understood us, and we have a difficult time understanding our children. We try to be the cool grandparents, but that gap is the widest of all. Not only do we not get the music, language, and fashion, but the technology is way out of our league. Still, some ideas and images can be timeless.

Stamps:
   Custom Tee
   Designer Tee
   Tie Dyed

Paper:
   Gorgeous Grape A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)
   Bermuda Bay 2-1/4" Sq. (2)

Ink:
   Gorgeous Grape
   Bermuda Bay
   Pacific Point

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   2-Step Stamping
   3-Step Stamping

Accessories:
   T-Shirt Builder Framelits Dies
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

These three stamp sets are so much fun. You can choose to create a masculine card or one filled with bright, fun colors. The T-Shirt Builder Framelits Dies save you quite a bit of time. It is definitely easier to run the images through a die cutting machine, than to fussy cut each one.

The 2-Step stamping is used on the t-shirt and then the wording for the t-shirt. The 3-Step stamping is used on the background spiral and hearts.

Lotus Blossom Thanks

Say it with flowers. Flowers are presented for all occasions. This particular lotus blossom is a 3-Step stamp. Take a look:

Stamps:
   Lotus Blossom
   Chalk Talk

Paper:
   Marina Mist A-2
   Always Artichoke 5-1/4 x 4
   Irresistibly Yours DSP 5 x 3-3/4
   Whisper White Scraps

Ink:
   Always Artichoke
   Marina Mist
   Melon Mambo
   Strawberry Slush
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   3-Step Stamping
   Brayer

Accessories:
   Brayer
   Large Oval Punch
   Dimensionals

The blossom is stamped 3 times. Each stamp is highlighting a different part of the flower. So, you can choose a different color for the various stamps. I used only Strawberry Slush on mine. I did stamp it on a scrap piece of Whisper White and then cut it out using my paper snips. It is attached using dimensionals.

The stem was stamped using Always Artichoke and then cut out. I adhered it with adhesive.

The DSP has an embossing resist technique on it. So, you add ink and then wipe it down with a paper towel. The leaves shine through and the ink is attached to the background.

The sentiment was stamped, colored, and punched out using the large oval punch. I used Tuxedo Black Memento, Always Artichoke and Melon Mambo. It is attached with dimensionals.

Thank you for stopping by here and taking a peek. I appreciate your time and comments. Do let me know what you think.

Kitty

Check out this adorable cat hidden among the leaves. I actually had to punch out a solid Poppy Parade Cat and add it as a shadow so she would stand out a bit.

Stamps:
   Nine Lives

Paper:
   Poppy Parade A-2, Scraps
   Crushed Curry 5 1/4 x 4
   Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4, Scraps
   Irresistibly Yours DSP 5 x 3 3/4

Ink:
   Poppy Parade
   Crushed Curry
   Pumpkin Pie

Technique:
   Emboss Resist
   3-Step Stamping
   Punching

Accessories:
Cat Punch, Postage Stamp Punch, Dimensionals, Adhesive

I took a scrap of Whisper White and stamped my cats. I made two cards, so you will see double of everything. Here are the colors I used for each of the stamps.

As you can see I always stamp on my scratch paper before stamping on my card stock.

Next, I punched out my cats with the Cat Punch.

I then took my sentiment and stamped it on the corners of my Whisper White cardstock. I used my paper snips to cut it out.

Next, I used my Life Changing Brushes from Picket Fence and added three colors onto my Irresistibly Yours DSP. Crushed Curry on the top, followed by Pumpkin Pie, and then Poppy Parade at the bottom. I then took a paper towel and wiped the DSP revealing the white embossed leaves. Here are two panels. Before and After wiping with a paper towel.

Colors can be sponged on if you do not have brushes.

Lastly, I punched out two Poppy Parade pieces using my Postage Stamp Punch. I spread them out to cover two corners of my sentiment. The cat and the sentiment were attached using dimensionals. The other layers were adhered with regular adhesive.
