Springy Butterfly

This is a great card to demonstrate dry embossing, die cutting, and stamping on vellum. You can always heat emboss as well, if you like. Thoughts?

Springy Butterfly

Stamps:
   A Dozen Thoughts

Paper:
   Tempting Turquoise A-2
   Pretty in Pink 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 5 x 3-3/4, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)
   Flowers for You DSP 3-1/2 x 2-1/2
   Vellum 1-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Jet Black Staz On

Technique:
   Dry Embossing
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Swirls Embossing Folder (Cuttle Bug)
   Butterflies Thinlits Dies
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Tempting Turquoise Ribbon 4"
   Vellum Tape
   Glue Dots
   Stampin' Seal+
   Adhesive

First, I die cut the butterfly in the top-center of the Basic White panel (5 x 3-3/4), using the Butterflies Thinlits.

I then dry embossed the panel, using the Swirls Embossing Folder.

Turning the panel over, I applied liquid adhesive around the edge of the butterfly cut out and adhered the Flowers for You DSP. I made sure the DSP was facing the right way.

Next, I adhered this panel onto the Pretty in Pink panel.

I then stamped my sentiment, in the center of the vellum strip, using Staz On ink and left it alone for a minute to dry.

Next, I adhered the ribbon onto the lower part of the panel. I used Stampin' Seal+ on the back of the ribbon to keep it in place. I trimmed off the edges so that the ribbon was flush with the panel.

Using vellum adhesive, I adhered the vellum panel over the ribbon, making sure the sentiment fell on top of the ribbon.

I then used glue dots on the back of the butterfly and adhered it in place. Only the body of the butterfly was glued down. The wings were left to be pulled up when it was out of the envelope, giving it a 3D look as shown above.

Lastly, I added pearls to the body of the butterfly and adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Here are two other cards I made, using a different sentiment:

Get Well Flowers

Flowers of any kind will always brighten someone's day. No matter which of our senses is triggered, the result is sure to be positive. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Flower Shop
   Sincere Salutations

Paper:
   Melon Mambo A-2
   Hello Honey 3-1/2 x 1-1/2
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2), Scraps
   Old Olive Scraps

Ink:
   Melon Mambo
   Hello Honey

Technique:
   Die Cutting

   Punching
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Pansy Punch
   Fancy Fan Embossing Folder
   Little Leaves Dies
   Sponge
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I stamped and punched four flowers, using two of the stamps in the set, as shown above.

I then stamped my sentiment and cut one end of it as shown.

Next, I sponged the tag with Melon Mambo ink.

I then placed the sponged tag on top of the Hello Honey scrap and cut it to measure a bit larger then the Basic White tag. I adhered the Hello Honey tag in the center of a Basic White panel.

Next, I dry embossed this Basic White panel with the Hello Honey tag, using the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.

I then adhered this panel onto the Melon Mambo card front.

Next, I die cut about three or four Little Leaves to place behind the flowers and add a bit of color to the card front.

I then arranged the flowers and leaves on the card front as well as the tag. When I had them in place, I attached the sentiment first, using dimensionals.

Next, I adhered all of the flowers, using dimensionals and adhered the leaves, using liquid adhesive.

Lastly, I adhered the other Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Fussy Flowers

Fussy cutting and layering a few flowers on top will hide any major mistakes made on the bottom layer of the card. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Pretty Amazing
   Wellness Wishes

Paper:
   Sweet Sugarplum A-2
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2), Scraps

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Berry Burst
   Melon Mambo
   Sweet Sugarplum

First, I stamped my sentiment on the top right hand corner of a Basic White panel, using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

I then stamped a few Melon Mambo flowers on the card front and one on a scrap of Basic White for fussy cutting.

Next, I stamped a few Sweet Sugarplum flowers to the mix and one on a scrap of Basic White for fussy cutting.

I then filled in the gaps on the Basic White panel with Berry Burst flowers, plus one on a scrap for fussy cutting.

Next, I fussy cut the three flowers and attached them to the card front, using dimensionals.

I adhered the panel onto the Sweet Sugarplum card front.

Get Well Little Bird

These images are suitable for any sentiment or color scheme you desire. Thoughts?

Get Well Little Bird

Stamps:
   Serene Silhouettes
   Work of Art
   Sincere Salutations

Paper:
   Tangelo Twist A-2
   Basic Black 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 5 x 3-3/4, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Tangelo Twist
   Hello Honey
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   Stamp-Off

Accessories:
   Adhesive

Although the background looks like I used four different colors, I used only two: Tangelo Twist and Hello Honey. I used a technique called Stamp-Off.

First, I stamped the arch using Tangelo Twist on the top of the Basic White panel and then immediately stamped it again below it. It is the same color, but a lighter shade.

I then cleaned the stamp and inked it using Hello Honey. I stamped the arch below the Tangelo Twist and then stamped it again below it, giving me the two shades of Hello Honey.

Next, I stamped the silhouette of the birds and tree, using Tuxedo Black Memento.

I then stamped the sentiment on the bottom right of the panel.

Next, I adhered the panel onto a Basic Black matte and then onto the Tangelo Twist card front.

Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Here is another card, but I switched the sentiment to a Thinking of You from the Three Thoughts stamp set:

Hopeful Get Well

I made this background, using a shaving cream technique. It reminds me of clouds. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Healing Hugs

Paper:
   Lavender Lace A-2
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Cucumber Crush
   Lovely Lipstick

Re-Inkers:
   Lovely Lilac
   Pool Party

Technique:
   Shaving Cream

Accessories:
   Shaving Cream
   Paper Plate
   Stirrer
   Adhesive

First, I put foamy shaving cream on a paper plate.

I then dropped a few drops of ink onto it, keeping the inks separate. I used Lovely Lilac and Pool Party.

Next, I grabbed a wooden stirrer and swirled the colors around the shaving cream. I tried not to mix them, and left a bit of white showing.

I then placed my Basic White panel on top of the shaving cream and lifted it up. I wiped it down with a paper towel and let it set for a few minutes to make sure it dried.

Next, I stamped a flower, using Lovely Lipstick, in the bottom left corner of the panel.

I then added a leaf with a bit of Cucumber Crush.

Next, I stamped a sentiment in the upper right corner of the panel.

Lastly, I assembled the card. I adhered the panel onto the Lavender Lace card front and added a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

A Hopeful Star

A card does not need much to be effective. Here is a card that says it all with one word and two images. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Be the Star

Paper:
   Yo Yo Yellow A-2
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Yo Yo Yellow
   Summer Sun

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Adhesive

First, I stamped a star on the top left of a Basic White panel, using Yo Yo Yellow ink.

I then stamped another star, using Summer Sun, on the right side of the Basic White panel.

Next, I stamped the sentiment in the center, using Summer Sun.

I then adhered the panel onto the Yo Yo Yellow card front.

Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

You can add sparkle with a few rhinestones, but I chose to keep it clean and simple, making it a masculine card.

Watercolor Fear

Do you feel like getting a bit artsy? Here's a watercolor gem for you to try. I am going to choose lighter colors on my next one. Check it out.

Stamps:
   Rose Wonder

Paper:
   Hello Honey A-2, 5 x 3-3/4
   Tangelo Twist 5-1/4 x 4
   Watercolor 4-3/4 x 3-1/2

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Re-Inkers:
   Hello Honey
   Tangelo Twist

Technique:
   Watercolor Runs

   Adhesive

First, I sprayed the watercolor panel with plenty of water.

I then added a drop of re-inker and let it run by moving the panel in a direction (up, down, sideways, diagonally, etc.).

Next, I repeated the previous step using both Hello Honey and Tangelo Twist.

I then set the panel aside and let it dry completely before proceeding.

I adhered the Hello Honey panel onto the Tangelo Twist panel and then onto the Hello Honey card front.

Once, the watercolor panel was completely dry, I stamped the sentiment, using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and adhered it onto the card front.

Lastly, I added a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.
