Single Deer

Have you ever been deer hunting? You must be as quiet as possible, or the deer will bolt. If they hear or smell anything man-made, they stand perfectly still. I won't say what happens next. Here, you can see a deer standing still and quiet. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Thoughts & Prayers
   Noble Deer

Paper:
   So Saffron A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Distress Inks:
   Picked Raspberry
   Mustard Seed
   Spiced Marmalade
   Peacock Feathers

Technique:
   Watercolor - Distress Inks

Accessories:
   Stamp-a-ma-jig
   Spritzer/Mister
   Adhesive

First, I created my background and set it aside to air dry. Distress inks react with water. So, to create my background, I smudged my colors on my craft sheet, spritzed them with a bit of water, and then smooshed my paper on them. You can apply them one at a time. I chose to do them all at the same time. The water helped to bleed them together and then the smooshing did the rest. Each background will be different. I do create several backgrounds in one sitting and then let them dry. They do change a little after they are completely dry. I suggest to keep them all, no matter what they look like. Sometimes, you can cut them up and use pieces of them for backgrounds on sentiments. The main thing is to have some fun!

Once my background was dry, I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp my image and sentiment. The stamp-a-ma-jig is a perfect tool to use with stamps that are mounted on wood. If you have a clear, photopolymer, or cling stamp set, you may want to use a Stamparatus or MISTI. These tools allow you to stamp precisely on the same spot several times, inking you stamps between presses.

Lastly, I adhered the stamped panel onto the So Saffron card base. I added the other Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

    1. Thank you, Jeanette. I think I got really lucky with this background. The peacock feathers ink peeks through in just the right places. Thanks for stopping by here.
