Birthday Ballad

Here I go again, using up discontinued supplies to create cards. I so enjoy using every bit of designer series paper (DSP). On this card, I used 3 left-over strips of DSP, along with a bit of washi tape and a left-over stamped tag from a paper pumpkin kit. What do you think? Did it work?

Stamps:
Poppin' Birthday (March/2019 - Paper Pumpkin)

Paper:
   Soft Suede A-2
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)
   Bird Ballad DSP 1-1/2 x 4 (2), 1 x 4
   Paper Pumpkin Tag

Ink:
   Real Red

Technique:
   None

Accessories:
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   1/2" Washi Tape (Calypso Coral)
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I adhered the top and bottom strips of DSP to a Basic White panel.

I then temporarily added the washi tape below the top strip and above the bottom strip. I then adhered the center strip of DSP between the washi tape.

I re-adjusted the washi tape and wraped it behind the Basic White panel. I then adhered the panel to the Soft Suede card front.

I attached the tag using dimensionals.

Lastly, I added basic pearl jewels and adhered the other Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

  1. For the longest time, I hoarded paper that I really, really liked. Not so much any more. I finally decided that I'm going to use it up, because something equally as pretty was going to appear in the next catalogue! That being said, I ordered two sets of the Eden Garden paper, which I've never done before! I found it to be more exquisite than any other paper I've ever seen from SU!! Couldn't help myself! I'm going to have to make a lot of cards to use that up!!!

Your card is so cute with those little birds.

    1. Thank you, Fonda. I have not really looked at that paper. The fact that it was only going to be around for a couple of months just turned me off. I always feel like when I finally get around to making something, it is already discontinued. So, I'm going to try and stick with items from the annual catalog. I can't wait to see what you make. Thanks for stopping by here.

    1. Thank you, Lisa. I always feel bad when I am using items that have been discontinued, but I figured there are probably many others who still have these supplies too and can use a fresh take on using them, or simply a reminder that they need to take them out of storage! Thank you for taking the time to share.
