Summer Cottage

Did you know that you can completely change the look and feel of a card simply by changing the medium that you choose for adding color? You can even get wild and choose various mediums on the same card. For example, you might want to use watercolors and a few markers to add color to a large image. Using a sponge to add color will yield a different look than a watercolor wash. There is no right or wrong in creating. The main thing is to have fun and relax. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Cozy Cottage

Paper:
   Cajun Craze A-2
   Basic Black 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Balmy Blue
   Call Me Clover
   Pineapple Punch

Markers:
   Various - Personal Choice

Technique:
   Sponging
   Brayer

Accessories:
   Sponge Brayer
   Chalk Marker
   Adhesive

First, I used a sponge brayer to add color to the background. I used Balmy Blue at the top, followed by Pineapple Punch in the middle, and Call Me Clover at the bottom.

I then stamped my image, a few birds, and the sentiment using Archival Basic Black.

I then proceeded to color my cabin using various markers.

I used a white chalk marker on the windows, and I grabbed the white and gray markers for the stones on the walkway.

    1. Thank you for the great complement. It means so much since it is coming from a true artist. I think I got lucky with the brayer. Still, using many of the tools out there pretty much guarantees us success. Even when I don't like it, I keep it, and eventually change my mind! Thanks for sharing!
