Beachy Birthday

I guess some ink pads do not last forever. I decided to use a discontinued ink color, Dusty Durango, on my card. I thought I would be safe, since I was just blending the ink onto the card. Nope, a smudge was added anyway, even with the blending brush. I tried to cover it up with a bird, but he just looked wounded. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Sunkissed
   Waves of Inspiration

Paper:
   Cajun Craze A-2
   Basic Black 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Crumb Cake
   Daffodil Delight
   Dusty Durango
   Pacific Point
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Markers:
   Crushed Curry
   Early Espresso
   Garden Green
   Pacific Point
   Soft Suede

Technique:
   Blending Brush/Sponging

Accessories:
   Blending Brush/Sponge
   Pebbles Enamel Shapes
   Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots
   Adhesive

First, I used my blending brush to create the background on my Basic White panel.
    Daffodil Delight - Top
    Dusty Durango - Middle
    Crumb Cake - Bottom

I then used markers to color on my stamps. I moistened the stamps with my breath before stamping the image onto my panel.

I first colored the sand dune with Crushed Curry and Soft Suede.

Next, I applied the Early Espresso on the tree trunks and Garden Green on the palms.

I added the ocean using Pacific Point.

The sentiment was also added using Pacific Point.

I then added birds with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

I adhered the stamped panel onto a Basic Black panel and then onto the Cajun Craze card base.

Lastly, I added a couple of Pebble Enamel Shapes, Brushed Metallic Dots, and adhered the other Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

  1. I honestly did not see the smudge and had to look for it. I think it looks perfect. Super scene on this card.
