Anchor Dad

Who is the anchor in your life? Is it your dad, mom, wife, husband, sibling, partner, God? The list of possibilities is endless. Everyone has that special someone that helps to keep them grounded. If your special anchor walks this earth, here is a card just for them. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Guy Greetings

Paper:
   Basic Gray A-2
   DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Marina Mist 2-1/4 x 2-1/2
   Whisper White 2 x 2-1/4, 5-1/4 x 4, Scraps

Ink:
   Basic Gray

Markers:
   Smoky Slate
   Basic Gray
   Sahara Sand
   Crumb Cake

Technique:
   Dry Embossing
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Argyle Embossing Folder
   Washi Label Punch
   Sponge
   Adhesive

First, I stamped my anchor and colored it using my markers. I then sponged it with Basic Gray and adhered it to a Marina Mist piece.

Next, I stamped, punched, and sponged my sentiment.

I then dry embossed a panel of designer series paper (DSP) using the Argyle Embossing Folder.

This panel was adhered to the Basic Gray card base.

Lastly, I adhered the anchor and sentiment to the card front and the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

  1. For me my anchor is my hubby. Great paper and I love the embossing you added too.

    1. Hey there, Lisa. Happy to hear you have someone beside you as your anchor. Thank you for stopping by here. I'm glad you mentioned the embossing. I thought it might not show up well on the printed paper. I'm glad to see it comes through beautifully. Thanks!

  2. I like how you used the embossing folder on the striped paper. It works well.

    1. Thank you, Fonda. I thought maybe the embossing would not show on the printed paper, but it seems to come through fine. Thanks for stopping by here.
