Dream Sailing

I am really enjoying this new stamp set: Sailing Home. I am not an artist, but decided to try my hand at water coloring. The aqua painter makes it quite easy. What do you think?

Stamps: Sailing Home
Paper: Island Indigo A-2, Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4 (Inside), Soft Sky 5 3/8 x 4 1/8, Watercolor 5 1/4 x 4
Ink: Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Sky, Archival Basic Black
Technique: Watercolor
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Adhesive

I began with the horizon line using the Island Indigo ink. I brought the ink all the way down to the bottom of the paper. I then added the Tempting Turquoise over it until I achieved the look I wanted. The sky is painted with Soft Sky ink.

I made another card with a vertical orientation:

Once all of the watercolor was dry, I stamped my images and sentiment with the Archival Basic Black ink. I then colored in the sails on the boats with Island Indigo ink.

I think this would also make a very nice Father's Day, Birthday, or any occasion. All you have to do is change the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by here. Let me know what you think.

HAPPY STAMPING!

  1. I've always loved sailboats! They look majestic to me... so of course, I love this card!
