Scraps

I remember the words, "Don't throw that pickle jar away. We can wash it and use it for something." Yes, we always found a purpose for everything. As a matter of fact, I may still have a jar filled with buttons that were removed from shirts or blouses before they were torn up to use as cleaning rags. This was recycling at its best. Here is a card I made using scraps of designer series paper.

Stamps: Simple Sayings II
Paper: Whisper White A-2, Basic Black 2 3/4 x 5 1/4, Scraps of Designer Series Paper
Ink: Archival Basic Black
Technique: Punching
Accessories: Classic Label Punch, Adhesive

Basically, when a sheet of DSP is no longer a size or shape that will work on a card, I grab my Classic Label Punch and punch out as many pieces as I can. I keep them all in a container until I decide to use them on a card. Here is a picture of my container. It doesn't look like there are many, but looks are deceiving.

Many different punches can be used. The Word Window punch is about the same size. The Washi Label Punch is a bit larger. You can use a shaped punch like a heart, triangle, circle, etc.

Also, do not forget to use your hand held punch to create the bits and pieces to fill your shaker cards. I especially like to punch out every bit of my glimmer paper for this purpose.

Yes, I was taught well. Do not just throw it out. Check it out and Re-Use, Re-Purpose, Re-Cycle.

What are your ideas? I appreciate your input and feedback.

HAPPY STAMPING!
