Sketched Washi Birthday

Here is a way to use the Washi Tape you have in your stash. Create a background for a birthday card. A simple balloon and cake makes a wonderful masculine birthday card.

Stamps: Sketched Birthday, Sassy Salutations
Paper: Bermuda Bay A-2, Scraps, Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4
Ink: Archival Basic Black, Various Markers
Technique: Die Cutting, Dry Embossing
Accessories: Balloon Framelits Die Cuts, Cuttlebug Circles Embossing Folder, Ticket Corner Punch, Washi Tapes, Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Tacky Tape, Dimensionals

To cover my Whisper White panel with washi tape, I began in the middle and placed my first piece diagonally from one end to the other leaving extra washi tape on each end. The extra washi tape will be wrapped to the back of the panel. I made sure I left a bit of white space between each washi strip. Once it was covered I ran it through my big shot and dry embossed it with circles. Since Bermuda Bay was my dominate color, I chose it for the card base. I also made sure I included it in my image.

The cake was cut out using the balloon die cut. The 3 strands of twine were attached with a bit of tacky tape on the back of the balloon. I used the ticket corner punch on the corners of the sentiment. The cake and sentiment were adhered with dimensionals.

Thank you for dropping by and checking out my birthday card. If you don't have any washi tape, you can use strips of designer series paper or any patterned paper you have in your stash. The main thing is to enjoy creating.

HAPPY STAMPING!
