Hammered Birthday

I used the Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder to create the faux metal squares behind the image. Surprisingly, I only applied one layer of silver embossing powder to my paper. Thoughts?

Markers:

   Strawberry Slush

Technique:
   Faux Tin Metal

Accessories:
   Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder
   Silver Embossing Powder
   1-1/4" Square Punch
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   White Twine
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I cut all of my cardstock to size.

I then made my faux tin metal squares:
I took the strip of Sahara Sand and using VersaMark I covered it all, but an inch or so from the bottom, in order to have room to pick it up.
Since, I got VersaMark on my scrap paper, I removed it and added a clean sheet to emboss over.
I covered the strip with Silver Embossing Powder and heat set it.
I set it aside to let it cool.

Next, I stamped and colored my image on the Basic White piece. I added the sentiment on top of it.

I then adhered the stamped piece onto the Strawberry Slush and then onto the Mossy Meadow.

I used about 24" of White Twine and tied a bow at the base of this piece.

I then took the cooled silver embossed strip and punched ten 1-1/4" squares. FYI: I was able to get twelve squares, so I saved the extra to use on another project. I also punched stars from any other scraps that were left. I set these aside too for future use.

I then placed ten squares into the Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder - Silver side up, and ran it through the embossing machine.

I took the ten squares and aligned them onto the edges of the Basic Black panel. I adhered the four corners first, followed by the two top and bottom squares. Lastly, I adhered the two right and left middle squares. The middle of the Black panel stays empty because the image will cover it.

I then adhered this Basic Black panel onto the Strawberry Slush card front.

I attached the image panel using dimensionals and added a few rhinestones.

Lastly, I adhered the other Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Here is another card I made using the same steps and technique:

Hammered Birthday Too

I used all of the same materials on this card. I did not color at all. The image was stamped directly using Strawberry Slush and the sentiment was stamped using Mossy Meadow.

Here are the two cards side by side.

Hammered Birthday Tre

As you can see, I took this picture before adding any rhinestones to the cards.
