Checkered Life

Stamping wheels are a thing of the past. I have no idea if they will resurface, but I have several, and I intend to continue to use them until one of us goes flat. I used one of my wheels to make this background. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Friendly Expressions
   Checkered Wheel

Paper:
   Highland Heather A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4, 1-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Highland Heather
   Gorgeous Grape
   Blackberry Bliss
   Concord Crush

Technique:
   Wheel Guide

Accessories:
   Wheel Guide
   Brads
   Adhesive

I used the wheel guide to make sure the wheel rolled in a straight line. I started with the lightest color and worked my way down adding the colors in the order listed above.

I stamped the sentiment with Concord Crush on a strip of Whisper White and then trimmed the sides. I adhered it with adhesive.

I then attached the brads and adhered the panel onto the card base.

  1. Great stamping wheel. I took all mine off the wheels and put them on foam so I could use them in my Misti. :) I love that sentiment too.

    1. Thanks, Lisa. I am not quite ready to part with my wheels. I'll keep them in tact for now. The future is unpredictable.

  2. I love this background. I've never seen that one before. I can't seem to get the hang of stamping with them! Maybe I should follow Lisa's advice and take them off the wheel!

    1. I have a wheel guide that I use for mine so that I can stamp in a straight line. I no longer have the ink that used to sit on the back of the wheel to continuously ink it up. These just came apart on me. Still, I can add enough ink to cover a card front. I will keep mine in tact in case I want to use them on a lunch bag or 12 x 12 scrapbook page.
