Happy Birthday Text

Can you imagine a world with no paper copies of books, newspapers, magazines, cards, or manuals? With all of the technological advancements, these have become obsolete. Yes, I included cards. Many are sending their sentiments and greetings virtually. What are your thoughts?

Stamps:
   Sunburst Sayings

Paper:
   Basic Black A-2, 1-3/4" Circle
   Printed Paper 5-1/4 x 4
   Very Vanilla 5-1/4 x 4, 1-1/2" Circle

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Punching

Accessories:
   Sunburst Thinlits Dies
   1-3/4" Circle Punch
   1-1/2" Circle Punch
   Adhesive

I started with my printed sheet. I cut it to size and ran it through the embossing and die cutting machine, using the Sunburst Thinlit Die.

Next, I adhered it to a Basic Black card front.

I stamped and punched out my sentiment, adhered it to a slightly larger circle and stuck it in the center of the sunburst.

I then added the other Very Vanilla panel to the inside of the card.

  1. I can't imagine a life without books that I can hold in my hands! I won't switch to a virtual method, no matter how many "books" I see that I want to "read". Think of the book Fahrenheit 451 where the firehouses were used to burn every book they found! And, there were people milling about mumbling the words to the classics so they would be remembered! That book had an effect on me beyond words! Love your sunburst birthday card, which would make me very happy to receive IN THE MAIL!!!{not virtually} Nice work, Sally. Thanks for sharing!

    1. I am with you, Fonda. There some books that you just need to hold in your hands and flip through. But, I am on my 3rd Kindle. Carrying my library with me anywhere I go is great. Definitely, makes it easy when you travel. Thank you so much for sharing, Fonda. I think books will be around for years to come.
