Drunken Flowers

So, what happens when you drop alcohol ink onto a glossy panel? Look below. Honestly, I thought there would be more of a reaction or mess. Surprisingly, it stayed in place. Did I do something wrong? Did I use the wrong paper? Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Beautiful Bouquet

Paper:
   Taken With Teal A-2
   Glossy 5 x 3-3/4
   Basic Black 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)
   Crushed Curry Scrap

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Alcohol Inks:
Personal Choice - Purple, Yellow, Blue, Green

Technique:
   Alcohol Inks
   Punching

Accessories:
   Artisan Label Punch
   Gold Metal Buttons
   Glue Dots
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I dropped alcohol inks onto my glossy white panel. The inks do not take long to dry at all.

I then took a black fine tip marker and drew flowers and leaves. Unfortunately, as you can see, the artist, I am not.

I stamped my sentiment on a scrap piece of Crushed Curry and punched it out using the Artisan Label Punch.

I then adhered the glossy panel onto the Basic Black matte and then onto the card front.

I added the sentiment using dimensionals and adhered the Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Lastly, I added a few gold metal buttons using glue dots.

  2. Good save - by making designs in the drops! I would have expected more movement from the alcohol ink, too. Blending solution and moving air might have helped. I have one of those ball-type thingies that work like an atomizer to help with air movement, but if you're long winded, a straw would work somewhat. I think you're card looks fine the way it is, though.

    1. Thank you so much, Fonda. I will have to try the straw suggestion, and maybe look into a blending solution. I had not heard of that. Glad you could stop by here. I look forward to reading your comments. Your responses always brighten my day.
