Peony Birthday

I colored directly onto the stamp, using my Stampin' Up! markers. I then huffed onto the stamp to moisten the ink, and stamped on my paper. This distINKtive stamp set accents the image in all of the right places that you shine like a true artist. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Prized Peony
   Peaceful Moments

Paper:
   Bermuda Bay A-2
   Highland Heather 3/4 x 5-1/4
   Artistry Blooms DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 3-1/4 x 4, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Mossy Meadow

Markers:
   Gorgeous Grape
   Mossy Meadow
   Old Olive

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Markering

Accessories:
   Peony Dies
   Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack
   Dimensionals
   Fine Tip Glue Pen
   Adhesive

First, I colored my peony stamp. I used Gorgeous Grape for the flower and bud. I then used Mossy Meadow for the leaves and Old Olive for the stems.

Once colored, I huffed or breathed on the stamp to moisten or refresh the ink. I then stamped onto the Basic White piece.

I die cut the peony and stood back to admire it.

Next, I cut a panel from the discontinued Artistry Blooms DSP.

I die cut the scalloped edgelit in Highland Heather and adhered it to the left side of the DSP panel.

I adhered the DSP panel to the card base.

I then stamped the birthday sentiment using Mossy Meadow. I stamped it on the top right corner of the DSP. I added a gold framed element from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack. I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen as the adhesive.

I added the peony with dimensionals and scattered sequins where I pleased.

The Basic White panel was adhered to the inside of the card.

Here is another card with a different section of the same 12 x 12 DSP sheet.

Peony Birthday Too

As you can see, the DSP can make a difference.

  1. I like that technique. Problem is, I don't have enough markers! I wonder if my new watercolor markers will work. I'll have to try that! Your cards are very pretty!

    1. Thank you so much, Fonda. You are very sweet to say so. I think the only real difference is if you want your image outlined in black or a neutral color of your choice. Since this stamp has so much shading, I wanted to put the right colors on there before stamping. Thanks for stopping by here.
