The sentiment is heat embossed. So, I took a Really Rust scrap and powdered it with my embossing buddy. Then, I stamped it with VersaMark and applied Black embossing powder. I heat set it and left it to cool for a bit. I then punched it out with my scallop punch. Applied the white gel pen dots. When it was time to assemble it was attached with two gold brads.

Next, I worked on the three pieces with the cap. I stamped the cap on the Really Rust piece using StazOn ink. I outlined it using the white gel pen. I then took the Whisper White piece and sponged it with Really Rust. I adhered the Really Rust onto the Whisper White and then onto the Basic Black. I pierced a gold brad through these three pieces to make sure they stayed together. The gold brad is the top of the cap. I then added the White gel pen dots around the Black square.

I stamped the Whisper White panel using the Sanded Background stamp and Really Rust ink. This was then adhered onto the Basic Black panel and then onto the Really Rust card base.

The cap squares were added using dimensionals. The sentiment can be added with the gold brads, adhesive, or dimensionals. All of these work.

  1. Great graduation card. I have been making a ton of graduation cards this year as there are so many seniors that have missed out on graduation ceremonies and parties. It looks like the class of 2020 and 2021 might not get to celebrate like years past. I am sure the graduate getting this card will be thankful for your card to celebrate them.

  2. Thank you, Lisa. This year, the pandemic sure did put a damper on many things. Most of which we can never get back. All we can do is pray that things will get better and everyone cares enough about each other to do the right thing. Stay healthy!
