Vellum Thank You

I made my own background by using the rectangular solid image from the stamp set. I stamped each color twice without re-inking. I was not overjoyed with the result, but the more I stare, the more I like it. It is different and somewhat artsy. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Hydrangea Haven

Paper:
   Highland Heather A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)
   Vellum Scrap

Ink:
   Balmy Blue
   Highland Heather
   Rococo Rose
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Markers:
   Crumb Cake
   Old Olive
   Highland Heather

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Dry Embossing
   Stamping-Off

Accessories:
   Hydrangea Dies
   Gorgeous Grape 3/8" Sheer Ribbon
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Adhesive

First, I stamped my background as I stated above.

I then stamped the Hydrangea using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. It did not make a very dark impression, or my background colors were still too dark.

So, I grabbed the Hydrangea dies and ran a scrap of vellum through the flower part of the hydrangea. It die cut the flower, and half-cut/embossed the petals. I colored them in using my Highland Heather marker. I then adhered the vellum onto the hydrangea using liquid glue.

I then used my Crumb Cake and Old Olive markers to color in the stem and outline the leaves.

I added a bit of sheer ribbon. I tied a knot and taped the ends on the back of the panel. I then adhered the panel to the card base.

I stamped my sentiment and added a few rhinestones. The other Whisper White panel was for the inside of the card.

  1. Wonderful image and terrific BG to add just enough interest but not take away from the beautiful floral.
