Natural Beauty

Have you ever come across a deer in the wilderness that just froze as you approached? Much of the wildlife will halt and blend into the background for protection. Of course, we are populating so much of the planet that we encounter wildlife in our own backyards or neighborhoods. Here is a masculine card for any occasion.

Stamps:
   Nature's Beauty

Paper:
   Tranquil Tide A-2
   Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Mossy Meadow
   Early Espresso
   Acrylic Paint

Technique:
   Gel Plate Printing

Accessories:
Gel Plate, Stamparatus or MISTI, Adhesive

It is a must to use a Stamparatus or MISTI or some device that will allow you to stamp several times in the same place. There is so much texture on this card that it is impossible to stamp perfectly on the first attempt. Here is the background before stamping.

As you can see, there is quite a bit of texture. So, I used my MISTI to arrange my stamps.

Once I was happy with the arrangement, I inked up my stamps and stamped them once. As you can see the images needed more ink.

And so I inked them up and stamped them again.

I felt they still needed another pass. Thank goodness for these wonderful tools!

On this last pass, I also inked up the grass image on the bottom right. I decided to create a grassy area for the deer. So I removed my card from my MISTI and stamped the grass all over the bottom of the card. Here is the final picture.

Lastly, I took the card front and adhered it to my Tranquil Tide card base. I also placed a 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White piece on the inside of the card.

I decided to NOT add a sentiment. So, this card can be used for any occasion. The occasion will be determined by the sender in his/her remarks on the inside which is purposely left blank.

Thank you so much for stopping by here and taking a peek. This stamp set can be found in the SU Holiday Catalog. It is the one that makes the most difference because $3 of every sale goes toward Mental Health Organizations. The Holiday Catalog will be available September 4, 2019 through January 2, 2020.

I appreciate your time and feedback.

HAPPY STAMPING!

  1. Sally, that background piece is awesome and you've placed "nature" perfectly on it. Lovely!

  2. Thanks, Jeanette. The blue shades remind me of water, like a lake or pond nearby.
