Butterfly Garden Love

The background on this card is dry embossed and then colored with markers. It does take patience and time, but I think it is worth it. Don't you?

Supplies:

Stamps: Four Frames, Good Greetings
Paper: Pink Pirouette A-2, 2" Sq., Very Vanilla 5 x 4, Melon Mambo 4 x 1 1/2, 2" Sq. (The 2" squares are for the butterfly embossilites.
Ink: Melon Mambo, Early Espresso
Markers: Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand, Pear Pizzazz
Techniques: Sponging, Dry Embossing
Accessories: Small Oval Punch, Decorative Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Beautiful Wings Embossilites, Floral Garden Embossing Folder, Sponge, Glue Dots, Pearls, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Adhesive

Steps:

I first cut all of my paper to the sizes I needed.

I then embossed the Beautiful Wings (butterflies) in both Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo.

Next, I embossed my Very Vanilla card stock and took my time coloring it with my markers. You have to take care to only color the raised portion of the embossing. I used the small tip of the marker to have more control, but you can use the brush side if you can hold it horizontally to the paper.

I then stamped and cut out my sentiment using the Decorative Punch and the Small Oval Punch.

I sponged the edges with Melon Mambo.

Then I assembled the card.

The Very Vanilla was adhered with glue onto the Pink Pirouette card.

I then attached the sentiment on the top left of the card.

I used both Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo butterflies randomly on the card using glue dots.

Lastly, I attached the pearls and rhinestones.

Please note that any floral background embossing folder will work for this card. You can even use a regular floral background stamp, just color the stamp, breathe on it, and then stamp it on the Very Vanilla card stock. The sentiment can also be changed to suit your needs.

Have fun! Feel free contact me with any questions you may have. Thanks for looking and reading.

Hello Magnolia

Do you remember the feeling you got when you received something in the mail that was NOT a bill or an advertisement? Can you recall the delightful smile that stretched from one ear to the other? Pass on these joyful feelings by sending a card to just say, "Hello."

Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento, Markers: Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry
Technique: Die Cutting

Trick or Treat

The tricky part about Halloween is that it takes me longer to conjure up an idea than it does to actually execute it! Now, isn't that a treat?

Stamps: Fall Fest, Holiday Best
Paper: Crushed Curry A-2, Whisper White Scraps for the pumpkins and leaves, Tangerine Tango for the sentiment, and Motley Monsters DSP 5 3/8 X 4 1/8
Accessories: Fun Fall Framelits, Color Me Autumn Washi Tape, 3/16" Corner Rounder, Dimensionals

The first step is to cut the Designer Series Paper and place strips of Washi tape on the front. I actually let the tape spill over to the back of the card. I then adhered the pumpkins using dimensionals.  I glued on the leaves and placed them randomly on the card. The sentiment was attached using dimensionals as well.  I tried to create a pumpkin patch with the Crushed Curry Washi tape.  I am not really sure I pulled it off, but I am still pleased with the card.  I hope you like it as well.

Merry Christmas Beauty

Imagine a blanket of snow under a branch with a red cardinal perched on it. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Stamps: Beauty of the Season, Good Greetings
Paper: Real Red A-2, Whisper White 5 x 4, DSP 5 3/8 x 4 1/8
Ink: Archival Basic Black, Soft Suede, Markers: Rose Red, Cherry Cobbler, Real Red, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate, Basic Black

I stamped the cardinal on the Whisper White card stock using my Archival Basic Black ink. I then centered it on my Top Note Die and ran it through my Big Shot. I used my markers to color in my image. The sentiment was stamped using Soft Suede. I then adhered the DSP onto the card base with the Top Note Die cut centered onto it.

I know that most of these products have been discontinued, but if you are an avid crafter then you have some of these things in your stash. If you don't, I hope you gain inspiration from my simple creation to make your own.

Sorry

One of the most difficult things for anyone to do is apologize. No one ever wants to admit that they have done something wrong, or failed in some way. After all, my Mom always told me that I was perfect! Come on now, let's all confess, we are IMPERFECT. Here is a card to send when we have really shown our imperfections.

Stamps: Sorry for Everything
Paper: Daffodil Delight A-2, Bird Ballad DSP 5 1/4 x 4
Ink: Archival Basic Black
Technique: Negative Space from Die Cutting
Accessories: Stitched Nested Labels, Basic Pearl Jewels, Adhesive

Yesterday, I posted a card where I used a piece of die cut DSP. This is what was left after that die cut. So, I am using the negative space. I find ways to use and reuse just about everything. I hope you like it.

Contact me for any other details. As always I value all of your feedback. Don't forget to hit the follow button on the top right.

Best Friends

Best Friends should always stick together. Here is a trio of best friends. Makes you wonder what they are chirping about...

Stamps: Free As A Bird
Paper: Calypso Coral A-2, Pool Party 5 1/4 x 4, Basic Black 5 1/4 x 3 1/4, Bird Ballad DSP 2 1/4 x 4
Ink: Archival Basic Black
Technique: Die Cutting
Accessories: Stitched Nested Labels, Bitty Bows, Basic Pearl Jewels, Adhesive

MISTI Monday challenged us this month to create a card using a Patterned Die Cut. So, I actually cut a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of patterned paper and die cut the trio of birds out to use on this card. I will be using the negative space on another card.

This stamp set, nested labels and designer paper are new to the upcoming Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. This beautiful stamp set and nested die cut labels will be offered as a bundle. The new catalog will be released on June 2, 2019. Contact me if you are looking for a new demonstrator.

Rooted

Masculine cards are not as easy to design or create. It seems that most cards will contain some sort of "frilly" item. Here is a card that I feel does fit the masculine category.

Stamps: Rooted in Nature
Paper: Tranquil Tide A-2, Cajun Craze 5 1/4 x 4, Nature's Poem DSP 4 x 4 1/2 (Cut @ 1 1/2), Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4 (Inside), 3 1/4 x 4 (Trunk)
Ink: Petal Pink, Tranquil Tide
Technique: Fussy Cutting
Accessories: 25" Jute Twine, Dimensionals, Adhesive

This masculine card comes together very quickly. As you can see, the bottom of mine has an extra cut. I should and will leave this bottom piece intact. I adhered the DSP onto the Cajun Craze card stock. I then tied on the Jute Twine. I stamped the tree trunk and fussy cut it. This was adhered with Dimensionals. Lastly, I adhered the card front to the card base. I used liquid glue, but any strong adhesive will do as well. Other suggestions include: tear & tape, glue dots, fast fuse, dimensionals, etc.

I hope you like it. This Rooted in Nature stamp set is taking the place of our very popular and vintage stamp set: Lovely as a Tree. I will miss seeing it in the catalog, but look forward to continue to create with it. Stamps will last for a VERY long time if they are properly cared for.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. I appreciate and encourage all of your feedback.
