Celebrate Plaid

 I used three colors and three different-sized brushes to create a plaid background. What do you think?

   Watercolor 4-1/2 x 3-1/4

   Tuxedo Black Memento

Re-inkers:

   Bermuda Bay

Technique:

   Watercolor Plaid 

Accessories:

   Basic Rhinestone Jewels

First, I used the largest brush to paint three horizontal stripes: top, middle, bottom.

I then used a medium brush to paint three and a quarter Strawberry Slush vertical stripes.

Next, I used the smallest brush to paint two Yo Yo Yellow horizontal stripes and three very light vertical stripes.

I added the sentiment in the center of the panel, using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Next, I adhered the panel to the center of the Bermuda Bay panel and then onto the Yo Yo Yellow panel. This was then adhered to the Strawberry Slush card front.

Lastly, I highlighted the sentiment by adding a row of rhinestones to the top and bottom of it. I also adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Peace on Earth

I like to use glue dots on the ribbon to hold it in place, especially on the front of a card. What do you do to keep your ribbon in place? Thoughts?

First, I stamped the image and sentiment on the left side of a Basic White panel, using Copper Clay ink.

I then carefully tore the panel, pulling toward me and making sure I did not tear the stamped images. 

Next, I adhered the panel to the left side of the Dandy Designs DSP.

I then wrapped the Copper Clay Textured Ribbon from front to back. I did use glue dots on the back of the ribbon to hold it in place on the card.

Next, I adhered the panel onto a Basic Black matte and then onto the Mango Melody card front. 

Lastly, I added a Star Trinket under the sentiment and adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Sometimes all you have to do is add a sentiment to the designer paper. That is all I had to do this time. 

First, I cut the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper to fit the front of a card.

I then stamped the bible verse on the top of the panel, using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Next, I adhered the panel to a Wild Wheat card front. Since, you cannot see it, you can choose any of the colors displayed in the scene.

Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Christmas Fir Tree

Create your own unique background with alcohol inks. They are fast drying and fun to use. Thoughts?

Alcohol Inks:

Technique:

   Alcohol Marbling

   Alcohol Ink Applicator

First, I added a bit of alcohol to my alcohol ink applicator pad.

I then dropped some green and burgundy drops of ink onto the pad.

Next, I dabbed the glossy white panel with the applicator, until I had the panel covered.

I let it dry for a couple of minutes. 

Next, I adhered it to the Garden Green panel and tied a Bravo Burgundy ribbon around the panel.

I then adhered it to the Bravo Burgundy card front.

Next, I stamped the fir tree, using Garden Green, onto the Ivory panel. I tore the bottom edge.

I then adhered it onto the Bravo Burgundy panel and stamped the greeting on the bottom of the panel.

Next, I added a couple of brads to the two top corners of the panel and attached it to the card front, using dimensionals.

Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card. You can use Ivory or Vanilla if you like.

Pecan Latte

School is back in session. Say thank you to a teacher or school volunteer with a cup of coffee. Thoughts?

First, I stamped, die cut, and colored the coffee mug, using Calypso Coral and the Latte Love Dies. I added a bit of shading with the Calypso Coral watercolor pencil. You can use a blender pen or a water painter if you care to bleed the color a bit. I chose to leave it alone.

I then adhered the coffee mug to the upper part of the Early Espresso panel. I set it aside.

Next, I stamped and distressed the edges of the sentiment. If you do not have a distressing tool, you can easily use your paper snips.

I then adhered the DSP panel onto the Pecan Pie card front.

Next, I attached the coffee mug panel as shown above, using dimensionals.

I then added the sentiment to the bottom right corner, using dimensionals.

Lastly, I added a swirl dot to the sentiment and adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Crumb-y Flowers

This makes a wonderful thank you card for a fellow stamper or a nice framed card as a reminder that what we do makes a difference. Thoughts?

First, I applied some Pineapple Punch ink to my specialty paper: Irresistibly Yours DSP. This specialty paper is coded with an emboss resist image in white. It allows me to apply any color to the background that I choose. If you do not have it, you can simply create a panel, using an emboss resist technique.

I then adhered the panel onto a Crumb Cake card front.

Next, I stamped and die cut the sentiment, using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

I attached it to the center of the card front, using dimensionals.

Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Hello Flourish

No matter how many times I use this technique, each background is still unique. It is a great technique for large die cuts or big bold stamps. What do you think?

I followed the tutorial found at SCS for the Cling Wrap Technique. Just click on the link and see written instructions with pictures, along with a short video. You won't be sorry.

Once, my background dried, I adhered it to a Strawberry Slush card front.

I then die cut my flourish and sentiment, using the Flourish and Hello You thinlits. 

Next, I adhered them to the card front. I chose not to take away from the background, so I did not add any embellishments, but you can dress it up any way you like.

Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

First, I die cut the DSP panel, using the Hexagon Hive die.

I then stamped and punched the sentiment, using the Artisan Label Punch.

Next, I stamped and punched the small flower, using the Petite Petals Punch. I added a small white brad to the center of the flower.

I then adhered the DSP die cut to the front of the Pink Pirouette card front and added a ribbon. 

Next, I attached the sentiment and flower, using dimensionals.

Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Vintage Vogue Friends

This one takes me back to the days of fussy cutting, paper piercing, and wonderful conversations with friends. The pace was definitely slower. I was also able to make several cards or scrapbook pages with a stamp set before it was rendered obsolete. What about you?

   Soft Suede A-2, 5-1/8 x 1-1/4, 2 x 2-5/8

   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2), 5-1/8 x 1, 1-3/4 x 2-3/8, Scraps

   Pretty in Pink 5-1/8 x 3-7/8

Ink:

   Pretty in Pink

   Creamy Caramel

   Soft Suede

   Sage Shadow

Technique:

   Sponging

   Fussy Cutting

   Eyelet Border Punch

   5/8" Rose Romance Ribbon (16")

   Blender Pen

First, I stamped the Friends image, using Pretty in Pink, and then fussy cut the F.

I then inked up the stamp again, using Creamy Caramel, but before stamping, I took the ink off the word friends, using a blender pen, and then inked it up with a Soft Suede Marker. I then huffed on it, and stamped it. 

Next, I sponged the image panel, using Creamy Caramel and then adhered it to a Soft Suede matte.

I then added the Pretty in Pink F with a couple of dimensionals.

Next, I punched the Basic white strip, using the Eyelet Border punch. I adhered it to the bottom of the Soft Suede strip.

I then added the ribbon to the Soft Suede strip and tied it into a knot.

Next, I stamped the Pretty in Pink card front, using Pretty in Pink ink. I stamped the bottom, using the Very Vintage Wheel and the top part with the stamp from the stamp set. I then added the Soft Suede strip as shown above.

I then stamped and fussy cut the small flower and leaves. I added a silver brad from the Pretties Kit to hold them together.

Next, I attached the friends image, using dimensionals and adhered the small flower with a few glue dots.

I then adhered the panel onto a Basic White matte and then onto the Soft Suede card front.

Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.
