Anniversary Wishes

This is a great layout to use when you have too many scraps sitting on your desk. It is also quite easy to change the oval and the sentiment to suit your needs.

I chose the scraps according to the colors on the designer series paper. Finally, there is a use for those 1/8 and 1/4 inch strips. 

The oval sentiment was adhered with dimensionals. All of the other strips were adhered using the Fine Tip Glue Pen.

Butterflies

Do you have trouble choosing colors for your creations? If you choose to work with designer paper or printed paper, use the colors that are already there, and remember to NOT ignore the neutral colors.

To choose my color palette, I begin with the darkest, most dominate color and set it aside for my sentiment. I will then choose two or three more dominate colors to play with.

I used the Flirty Flamingo for my branches with flowers. 

I then stamped and punched out two butterflies: one in Real Red and the other in Crushed Curry. I saw specks of Real Red and wanted to draw those out. So, I added a Real Red butterfly to make that happen. 

The Crushed Curry butterfly was added to give the card some balance. 

I chose the Flirty Flamingo as the card base because although it is found in the designer paper it is not a bold color. 

Lastly, I had to make that gorgeous butterfly shine, so I stamped it with Night of Navy. 

I have never taken an art class or studied colors, but I stamp what I like. Stampin' Up! makes our life easy by matching papers and inks for us.

Perfect Day

Stamps, ink and paper is all that is needed to make a beautiful card for any occasion. These butterflies are beautiful and can easily be stamped in any color with whatever sentiment you desire.

The technique used on this card is CAS: Clean And Simple. This means that there should be quite a bit of white space on the card with zero to one layer of paper. 

I enjoy making this type of card and actually find it quite challenging. Most of us always want to accessorize or embellish what is there. 

You can easily add rhinestones or pearls to the butterflies. Or you might want to add some ribbon or a bow.

Always remember to stamp first, and then die cut your image. The colors of the card base and flowers can be changed to suit your needs.

3-D Pumpkins

Stamp, color, and fussy cut any of the images on this card. Attach it with dimensionals and create a 3-D image.

I stamped my image on the card front and colored it using my blendabilities. Any markers or colored pencils will suffice. I then stamped, colored and fussy cut selected images (pumpkins) to create a 3-D effect. I added these with dimensionals.

Stitched Yuletide

The snow-covered branches lend a beautiful contrast to the die cut foliage on this card. I think the colors complement each other well, and the rhinestones accentuate the corners.

The stitching with actual thread was added to meet a challenge. I would not include this on future cards, unless it was requested. I think the card with the faux stitching is beautiful on its own. 

I would, however, add a few sparkles to the branches: rhinestones, sequins, pearls, or brads.

Batty Tree

The sponged background is perfect for the spooky silhouettes on this Halloween night. I must learn to create a foggy night rather than a hint of daylight with the yellow hue.

Sponge your background. Always begin with your lightest color and then add and blend the others. I added my colors in order listed from bottom to the top. I then stamped my silhouettes of bats, witch, and sentiment.

Golden Snowflake

Using bleach sends your card into another unique level of creativity. There are many different bleach techniques that you can experiment with, but I go for the simplest. You can find the tutorial Here.

I followed the tutorial. I dabbed by stamp in a bit of bleach and then stamped it on the card base. I let it air dry. Once the bleach completed its processing I added the foil snowflake and rubbed on the greeting. The bleach makes a very interesting background.

Note the following:

I stamped and colored my scene on Whisper White. Sky was sponged with Smoky Slate and the ground with Crushed Curry.

I glued the scene onto my die cut window frame.

For the pumpkins I inked them with Tangerine Tango, then I used the blender pen to remove the ink from the stem. I colored it with my Garden Green marker. Breathed on it to moisten the ink and then stamped it. I did this with all three pumpkins.

I used Fast Fuse to attach my ribbon. I used dimensionals to adhere the pumpkins and the sentiment.

Rococo Garden

There are so many ways to express gratitude. Obviously, the most common is simply to say, "Thank You." While this is perfectly acceptable, I like the uncommon phrase, "Kindness changes everything."

I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the die cut flowers onto the card. I added rhinestones to bring a bit of bling. Of course, this is a preference. You can use brads, sequins, candy dots etc. Whatever you have on hand.

The 2-step stamping was used on the flower stems. I opted out of adding the second step to the flowers.
