Embossed Rose

I made this background using a clear block, markers, and water. I really like the effect. The amount of water you apply will determine the look that you achieve. Give it a try. Thoughts?

   Heat Embossing

   Clear Block Watercolor

First, I colored the clear block, using the markers in the order listed above: Soft Sky at the top and ending with Delightful Dijon on the bottom.

I then misted the block with water. I did not add much, so this panel was a bit splotchy. The more water you add, the more blurry or blended effect. Note the Soft Sky had the most water. You can also choose to add more water with a watercolor brush. I did not.

Once, the block was misted with water, I set it on the Basic White panel for a bit to allow the color to soak into the paper.

Once it was dry, I went over the panel with an Embossing Buddy.

I then stamped the image and sentiment with VersaMark.

I applied some Black Embossing Powder and then heat set it.

I added the panel to a Basic Black matte, and then adhered it to the Sweet Sugarplum card front.

Lastly, I adhered the other Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Congratulatory Moments

It is best to cut a section of designer series paper (DSP) first, and then break it down into strips, keeping them in order to place them on the Basic White panel. I do like the effect. What do you think?

First, I took the 4 x 3-1/2 inch panel and cut it into 4 strips, measuring 1 x 3-1/2. I kept them in order to be able to place them correctly on the Basic White panel.

I then began at the top and adhered each of the strips in order, leaving a bit of space between each strip.

Next, I stamped the sentiment on the bottom, using Night of Navy ink. You can easily change this to suit your current need.

Lastly, I added a couple of rhinestones, adhered the panel on to the Night of Navy card front, and adhered the other Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Balmy Sympathy

Here is a simple watercolor technique. The key to success is waiting for the panel to dry before stamping on it. Have you tried it?

   Painted Poppies

   Flourishing Phrases

Paper:

   Highland Heather A-2

   Watercolor 5-1/4 x 4

   Basic Black 5-3/8 x 4-1/8

   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:

   Tuxedo Black Memento

Markers:

   Balmy Blue

   Highland Heather

   Pear Pizzazz

Technique:

   Watercolor - Clear Block "E"

Accessories:

   Gingham Gala Sequins

   Water Spritzer (Mister)

   Clear Block E

   Adhesive

First, I colored the Clear Block "E", using markers. I started with Balmy Blue on the top, followed by Highland Heather, and Pear Pizzazz at the bottom. I covered the entire block.

I then spritzed or misted the block with water.

I stamped the center of the watercolor panel. I let it sit for a bit to allow the color to soak into the panel.

Once it dried for a minute, I stamped the posies on the bottom.

Next, I stamped the sentiment on the top. I used a sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.

I then adhered the watercolor panel on to a Basic Black matte, and then on to the Highland Heather card front.

Lastly, I added a few sequins and adhered the Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Berry Birthday

Draw attention to your card simply by cutting the designer series paper (DSP) differently. Using two-sided paper makes this even easier because all you have to do is flip two sides. What do you think?

Ink:

Technique:

   Sponging

   Punching

Accessories:

   Brights Enamel Shapes

   Washi Label Punch

   Sponge

   Dimensionals

   Adhesive

First, I cut the DSP panel. I lined up two opposite ends of the DSP on the cutting line and cut the paper on the diagonal. This gave me two large triangles.

Keeping the paper together, I slid the paper to the other two opposite corners and diagonally cut the DSP. I now had 4 triangles.

I then flipped over the left and right triangles to give me a view of the other side of the DSP.

Next, I adhered these triangles on to a Basic White panel. I left a little space between the panels as shown above.

I then adhered this panel on to the Rich Razzleberry card front.

Next, I stamped, punched, and sponged the sentiment. You can change this to whatever you need. I adhered it to the center of the card, using dimensionals.

Lastly, I added an enamel star shape to the sentiment, and adhered the other Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Morning Eclipse

This technique does work best in black and white. Plus, I like the effect. Thoughts?

Paper:

   Smoky Slate A-2

   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (5)

Ink:

   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:

   Stamped Eclipse

Accessories:

   Florentine Thinlits Dies

   Stamparatus/MISTI/Stamp-a-ma-jig

   Fine Tip Glue Pen

   Adhesive

First, I stamped the image on two panels, using Tuxedo Black Memento. The stamping must be exact on each one, so it's advisable to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stamparatus, or a MISTI tool.

I then took one of the stamped images and die cut it, using the Florentine Thinlit Die. Any large background die will work on this technique.

Next, I die cut another two Basic White panels, using the same die cut.

I then adhered all of the die cut panels together, making sure the stamped die cut ended up on top of the stack. I used the fine tip glue pen for this, but you can use any adhesive, or an adhesive sheet.

I then adhered the die cut stack onto the stamped panel. The images should align perfectly, giving you a stamped eclipse of the images. 

Lastly, I adhered these onto the Smoky Slate card front, and adhered a Basic White panel onto the inside of the card. 

I purposely left off a sentiment, allowing this to be an All-Occasion card.

Gleaming Ornaments

I like the designs on these ornaments. You can choose to add more color or leave them as stamped. What would you do?

First, I adhered the DSP on the bottom of a Very Vanilla panel.

I then stamped the sentiment, using Mossy Meadow.

Next, I stamped two different ornaments on the top of the Very Vanilla panel. I added the hook or string by drawing a thin line, using an Archival Black Fine Point Pen.

I then cut 8" of ribbon. I made a knot in the center and then wrapped it around the bottom of the panel. I added glue dots to the ribbon to hold it in place. I used Stampin' Seal+ on the back of the panel to hold the ribbon.

Lastly, I adhered the panel to the Pretty Peacock card front, and adhered the other Very Vanilla panel to the inside of the card.

Snowflake Christmas

Although these big felt flurries are discontinued, I like the way they adorn the front of a card. They add a nice texture to it. You can easily add more embellishments or just let the snowflake stand on its own. Thoughts?

First, I adhered the Holiday Fancy Foil Vellum to the Basic White panel, using glue dots.

I added the felt snowflake on to the top of the panel, using glue dots.

Next, I pierced a hole in the center of the snowflake and added a brad.

I then adhered the panel onto the Raspberry Ripple card front.

Next, I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Basic White, using Tuxedo Black Memento.

I tore the paper around the sentiment and adhered it to the bottom of the card, using dimensionals.

Lastly, I adhered the other Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Copper Christmas

The copper elements stand out beautifully against the Night of Navy color. Thoughts?

   Banners Pick a Punch

   Itty Bitty Accents Punch

   Tear & Tape

   Fine Tip Glue Pen

   Adhesive

First, I adhered the Brightly Gleaming DSP panel to the bottom of a Basic White panel, using liquid adhesive. 

I then added adhesive to a large copper foil star, using a fine tip glue pen. I adhered it to the top of the same panel.

Next, I punched a couple of stars from the extra bits of the copper foil surrounding the foil elements, and adhered them with a glue dot.

I then took the ribbon and cut out a section with "Merry Christmas." 

Next, I punched the ends of the Night of Navy strip, using the Banners Pick a Punch. I adhered the ribbon to the center of this strip with a bit of tear & tape. 

I then attached this sentiment at the bottom of the panel with a few dimensionals.

Lastly, I adhered the panel to the Night of Navy card front and added the other Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Note: I did not use any stamps on this card, but all of the products and embellishments coordinate with the Christmas Gleaming stamp set.

Regal Christmas

This card takes less than five minutes to stamp and put together. It is quite easy to duplicate. What do you think?

   Die Cutting

   Reindeer Dies

   Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes

   Adhesive

   Glue Dots

First, I stamped the trees, using Shaded Spruce on a Basic White panel.

I then stamped the sentiment on the top with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Next, I stamped snowflakes, using Balmy Blue ink.

I then took a scrap of Basic Black and die cut a fox, using the Reindeer Dies.

I adhered the fox in the bottom center of the panel, using a glue dot. 

I then adhered the panel on to a Shaded Spruce matte, and then on to the Balmy Blue card front.

Lastly, I added a few Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes to the card front and adhered the other Basic White panel to the inside of the card.
