Quick Recovery

What better way to express a quick recovery than to send a beautiful, Spring card signifying a fresh start. The butterflies in Calypso Coral are enough to bring a smile to your face.

Paper: Pool Party A-2, Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4
Technique: Clean & Simple (CAS)
Accessories: Adhesive

This is a prime example of using only stamps, ink and paper to make a card. I used the Calypso Coral only on the butterflies to make them stand out. The bokeh dots are stamped in both the Coastal Cabana and the Pool Party. The vines of flowers and the sentiment are stamped using the Archival Basic Black.

If you want any of these supplies or all of them you can find them on my online store. Just click on Shop Now above or click on each of the products and it will take you to it.

Kind Lotus

Do you remember this Lotus Blossom stamp set? Only those of you who earned it have it in your collection. Here is a card idea for you.

Stamps: Lotus Blossom

I really like this two-step stamping. It adds the right shading in all of the right places. You can easily create a bouquet of these blossoms or keep it to only one. The sentiment can also be changed to whatever you need.

Thank you so much for stopping by here. Have a wonderful day and keep smiling.

Ornaments and Pine Cones

The background was created by blending alcohol inks. This means that each background will be unique.

Stamps: Ornamental Pine, Work of Art, Endless Wishes
Paper: Tempting Turquoise A-2, Glossy White 5 3/8 x 4 1/8
Ink: Alcohol Ink Blend, Tempting Turquoise, StazOn Timber Brown, Gold
Technique: Heat Embossing
Accessories: Alcohol Ink Applicator, Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Adhesive

The alcohol inks I blended were blue, yellow, brown, and red. You drop each color onto the felt applicator that has slightly been dipped in alcohol. Try to keep the color separate. You then lightly spray your glossy paper as well and then apply the colors and see the magic. You set your background to dry for a bit. Then stamp, heat emboss it, and assemble.

In retrospect, I would stamp my sentiment first to make sure the snowflakes would not interfere with it.

Although these stamp sets have been retired, you can easily use any stamp set you currently have in your supplies. The alcohol ink blending is easy and exciting to use. Have some fun.

Flower Garden

This is an all occasion card to give to the person who likes flowers. I decided to just randomly stamp flowers and color them. The inside of the card is intentionally left blank for your own personal message.

Stamps: Bloom with Hope
Paper: Pacific Point A-2, 4 1/2 x 3 1/4, 3 1/2 x 2 1/4, Whisper White 5 3/8 x 4, 3 x 4 1/4, 3 1/4 x 2
Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento
Blendabilities: Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, Soft Suede
Technique: Triple Layering, Dry Embossing
Accessories: Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Temporary and Permanent Adhesive

To get the triple layering effect you must glue the Whisper White card stock with temporary glue. Stamp it and color the images. Then run it through your embossing machine using the Square Lattice embossing folder. You then carefully pull the card stock apart. The largest piece adheres to the card base. You then add the pacific point to the other two pieces and glue them onto the card aligning the images.

I do like the texture that the embossing folder adds to the card. Remember you can use this technique with any stamp set you have available.

Written Instructions for Valentine Treat Bag

Stamps: Groovy Love

Paper: White Lunch Bag, Basic Black 4" Sq., 5 x 2 1/2, Whisper White 5 x 2

Ink: Archival Basic Black, Real Red

Techniques: Die Cutting, Sponging

Accessories: Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Dies, Red Ribbons: 5 x 2 1/2 Piece for the front of bag, 16" of a smaller one to tie around the bag, Sponge, Glue Dots, Fast Fuse, Adhesive

The best instruction is to watch the video to see how it is all put together. The video is posted in the previous post. There is also a link to my You Tube channel on the right hand column.

My favorite thing about this project is that it can be changed to fit any occasion you need. Whether you are looking for some treat bags for a birthday party, Christmas, Easter, or simply a hostess gift for a workshop. Just change up the stamp and the treat. Have some fun with it.

If you are trying to sell them at a craft fair, you only need to worry about making a bit of profit on your treat inside. It costs less than a dollar to put the bag together. Good Luck. Let me know what you think and how it goes for you in the comments below.

Thank you for stopping by here. Your feedback is appreciated and encouraged. It may help others who are planning for a craft fair. If you have other projects add the links in the comments please.

Sketched Washi Birthday

Here is a way to use the Washi Tape you have in your stash. Create a background for a birthday card. A simple balloon and cake makes a wonderful masculine birthday card.

Stamps: Sketched Birthday, Sassy Salutations
Paper: Bermuda Bay A-2, Scraps, Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4
Ink: Archival Basic Black, Various Markers
Technique: Die Cutting, Dry Embossing
Accessories: Balloon Framelits Die Cuts, Cuttlebug Circles Embossing Folder, Ticket Corner Punch, Washi Tapes, Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Tacky Tape, Dimensionals

To cover my Whisper White panel with washi tape, I began in the middle and placed my first piece diagonally from one end to the other leaving extra washi tape on each end. The extra washi tape will be wrapped to the back of the panel. I made sure I left a bit of white space between each washi strip. Once it was covered I ran it through my big shot and dry embossed it with circles. Since Bermuda Bay was my dominate color, I chose it for the card base. I also made sure I included it in my image.

The cake was cut out using the balloon die cut. The 3 strands of twine were attached with a bit of tacky tape on the back of the balloon. I used the ticket corner punch on the corners of the sentiment. The cake and sentiment were adhered with dimensionals.

Thank you for dropping by and checking out my birthday card. If you don't have any washi tape, you can use strips of designer series paper or any patterned paper you have in your stash. The main thing is to enjoy creating.

Little Miracle

Is it a boy? Is it a girl? I remember the days when there was no "Baby Reveal" party. Of course we had our ways to pretend to predict using a piece of thread and a ring. What fun we had in EXPECTING our healthy child. Today, it is about the knowing. Knowing that it will be a girl; knowing that it will be a boy; knowing that it will be healthy. Guess what...the UNexpected is always there for us. We only have the impression of being in control. As they say, "If you want to make God laugh, make plans." Here is a baby card with a bit of blue, pink, and yellow for the unexpected.

Stamps: Wonderful Moments
Paper: So Saffron A-2
Ink: Archival Basic Black
Techniques: CAS
Accessories: Washi Tape

I think this card's appeal lies in its simplicity. I liked the look of leaving the image colorless. What do you think?

This washi tape is no longer current, but any pinkish, bluish, and yellowish color will do just fine. I like using washi tape because it is so very easy to apply, but you can also use strips of designer series paper with those colors. Or you may choose to create your own border with some other stamp images: baby bottles, rattles, pacifiers, etc...

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Balmy Rose

Shaped cards are very unique. They are sure to put a smile on the recipient's face. As long as you have a shaped die cut, you can create a shaped card. Here is one with a rose on it to send Birthday Wishes.

Stamps: Healing Hugs, Varied Vases
Paper: Whisper White A-2
Ink: Balmy Blue, Lemon Lime Twist, Night of Navy
Technique: Shaped Card, Die Cutting
Accessories: Top Note Die, 1/4" Lemon Lime Twist Organdy Ribbon (16"), Basic Pearl Jewels

When you create a shaped card, you must remember to leave the top or the side in tack. The card must have a folded edge in order to open. This card has its fold on top. So the flap opens upward. The inside is left blank for the sender to write their own personal message.

Thank you for looking and feel free to contact me with any questions. I treasure all of your feedback. Have a wonderful day.
