Friends Comfort You

The linen thread is wrapped around the designer series paper and serves as a divider between the sentiment and the image. I think it works well. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Thoughts & Prayers

Paper:
   Mossy Meadow A-2
   Basic Black 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Tea Party DSP 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   Mossy Meadow

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Mossy Meadow Linen Thread
   Earth Elements & Neutrals Button
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

First, I stamped the tree, using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

I then stamped the sentiment, using Mossy Meadow ink.

Next, I wrapped 26" of Mossy Meadow Linen Tread around the center of the designer series paper. I went around twice and then tied a bow.

I then adhered the DSP to the Basic Black matte and then onto the Mossy Meadow card front.

Next, I threaded some linen thread through a button and tied it off with a double knot. I attached it to the card with a glue dot.

Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Gray Day

I was challenged to create a monochromatic outdoor scene and chose this stamp set and a gray color. Besides gray, what other color would you suggest for this monochromatic card?

Stamps:
   In the Meadow

Paper:
   Gray Granite A-2
   Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Basic Gray
   Gray Granite

Technique:
   Monochromatic
   Masking

Accessories:
   Blender Pen
   Watercolor Pencil
   Adhesive
   Removable Dots

First, I stamped and masked the deer. You must fussy cut the deer to create a mask. FYI: Once I create it, I leave it in the stamp box to use a few more times before I have to create another one if needed.

With the mask in place, I then stamped the mountains.

Next, I stamped the flowers and the grass.

I then removed the mask.

Next, I colored or shaded some areas, using a Gray Watercolor Pencil.

I then went over the coloring with a blender pen. This smooths out the pencil line and blends the color.

Lastly, I adhered the panel to the Gray Granite card front and adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Abigail's Birthday

I decided to just add a bit of color to the rose with a marker, rather than coloring it completely. I think it works. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Cottage Rose

Paper:
   Petal Pink A-2
   Abigail Rose DSP 5-1/2 x 4-1/4, 4 x 3-1/2 (Triangle)
   Very Vanilla 4 x 2-1/2 (Tag), 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Early Espresso

Marker:
   Petal Pink

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Natural Finish Ribbon 9"
   Rhinestone Basic Jewels
   Adhesive

First, I stamped and colored the tag. I snipped the two corners to make it into a tag.

I then adhered the tag to the Abigail Rose DSP panel. *I cut and placed the triangle piece on the corner to make sure I was adhering the tag in the right place.

Next, I adhered the triangle piece to the bottom left corner of the DSP panel.

I then tied a knot in the center of the ribbon and wrapped it around the bottom of the card. I adhered the ends to the back of the panel.

Next, I adhered the panel to the Petal Pink card front.

Lastly, I added a few rhinestones and adhered a Very Vanilla panel to the inside of the card.

Pretty Peacock Butterflies

Here is a great layout to use up a few of those odd size left-over designer series paper scraps. They make excellent backgrounds, but the focus is still on the sentiment. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Thoughtful Expressions

Paper:
   Calypso Coral A-2
   Delightful Floral DSP 2-1/4 x 3-5/8, 1-3/4 x 3-5/8
   Berry Burst 2-1/4 x 1-1/2, 1-3/4 x 1-1/2
   Pretty Peacock 3" Sq.
   Basic White 2-1/2" Sq., 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Pretty Peacock

Technique:
   Dry Embossing
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Thoughtful Expressions Dies
   Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder
   Butterfly Gems
   Polished Dots
   Adhesive

First, I stamped and die cut the sentiment and its matte, using the square pieces of cardstock, Pretty Peacock ink, and the Thoughtful Expressions Dies.

I then adhered the Basic White sentiment onto the Pretty Peacock matte and set it aside.

Next, I placed the Berry Burst pieces and the DSP pieces on the Calypso Coral card front to make sure I was matching them up correctly. Note that each piece allows a little of the Calypso Coral card front to show around it.

I then adhered the two DSP strips onto the card front.

Next, I dry embossed the two Berry Burst pieces, using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. You may want to make sure the script is flowing in the correct direction.

I then adhered these onto the card front.

I added the sentiment, using adhesive, but you can easily raise it a bit with dimensionals if you wish.

Lastly, I added a couple of butterflies and adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.
