Birds on a Wire

Why do birds of a feather flock together? Who cares? If they are not flying, they are standing on a wire. What do you think?

First, I stamped my background sky using Soft Sky ink and the Watercolor Wash Background Stamp.

Next, I stamped the wire. I used a stamp from the Work of Art stamp set together with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

I then grabbed my Swirly Bird stamp set and used the bird to stamp them on the wire. I used Dapper Denim ink to match my card base.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink. I used stamps from the Happy Everything stamp set.

I then adhered the stamped panel to the front of the card base, and the other panel to the inside of the card.

Healing Rose

 A rose conveys so many meanings filled with emotion: love, friendship, hope, joy, congratulations, condolences, and the list is endless. These red roses are sent with love and hope.

This card is made with your basic 4 ingredients: stamps, ink, paper, and love. Three of the ingredients are visible for everyone to see, the fourth is seen and felt by the recipient. What do you think?

I stamped everything directly onto the Whisper White panel. 

First, I stamped my sentiment.

Next, I stamped the roses, scattered through the card front. This is a distINKtive stamp set, meaning the saturation levels of ink (light and dark areas) appear magically by the stamp and the way it is made. Love that it makes me look like a real artist!

Lastly, I stamped the green leaves around the roses, and adhered the layers together.

Red Palette

 LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Cupid is at the ready and Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Just in case you do not express it often enough, here is a card to say, "I JUST LOVE YOU." 

Stamps:

   Petal Palette

Paper:

   Powder Pink A-2, Scraps

   Cerise DSP 5-1/4 x 4

   Very Vanilla Scrap

   Silver Glimmer 1 x 4

   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink & Markers:

   Archival Basic Black

   Real Red

Technique:

   Die Cutting

Accessories:

   Petals & More Thinlits Dies

   Stitched Labels Framelits Dies

   Basic Rhinestone Jewels

   Dimensionals

   Fine Tip Glue Pen

   Adhesive

First, I cut my designer series paper and adhered it to the card front using my favorite adhesive. All of the other items and images are die cuts.

Next, I stamped and die cut my sentiment. To get the word love in red you have two options.

    1. You can ink up the sentiment with black. Take a blender pen and wipe off the black ink from the word love. Use a red marker to ink it. Activate the ink with your breath and stamp on a scrap of Very Vanilla. Center it on the die cut and run it through the die cut machine.

    2. Take a black marker and color in I, JUST, YOU. Take a red marker and color in LOVE. Activate the ink with your breath. Stamp and die cut it. It is adhered to the card front using dimensionals.

    FYI: I did option 2.

Then I stamped my roses and bird on scraps of Powder Pink. I then die cut them and adhered them using dimensionals.

I cut a 1 x 4 piece of silver glimmer paper and die cut it. It is adhered using the fine tip glue pen.

Lastly, I added rhinestones to the center of the roses, and I adhered the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card. You may choose to use a Very Vanilla panel for the inside to match the outside. This is a personal choice.

You Amaze Me

There are times when a picture says it all. Here is Mother Nature in all of her beauty.

There are those special moments when we need to let others know just how amazing they are. 

This designer series paper is beautiful all by itself. I used a stamp from Crazy About You and encircled it with another stamp from Perfectly Wrapped.

I then added tiny pearls around the dotted circle.

Lastly, I punched out a gold star using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch and adhered it with a mini glue dot.

I adhered the DSP panel to the card base and added a Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Waffle Christmas

 The gold waffle paper together with the Cherry Cobbler Eyelet Border adorns the sentiment beautifully on this Christmas card. What do you think?

   Heat Embossing

   Punching

   Gold Waffle Paper

   2-1/2" Circle Punch

   Stamp-a-ma-jig/Stamparatus/MISTI

   Basic Rhinestone Jewels

   Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder

   Eyelet Border Punch

   Glue Dots

   Adhesive

First, I punched out the 2-1/2" Circle on the top-center of the card front. I lightly traced the circle on the bottom panel to help center the flower when stamping.

I then stamped the poinsettia with Versa Mark, covered it with Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder, and heat embossed it.

Next, I used the Eyelet Border Punch on the Cherry Cobbler piece. I punched two borders. I then adhered waffle paper on the bottom of the eyelet border as shown in the picture. 

The bottom border was adhered to the card base first. I then stamped the sentiment and the tiny poinsettias around the punched circle and the sentiment.

I then adhered the top border. I added tiny rhinestones to the tiny poinsettias.

I found a small wreath that was sitting in my crafty supplies. I decided to adhere it to the center of the large poinsettia with a couple of glue dots.

Pink Lace

 How often do you eye a card that you just want to reach out and touch? Embossing folders undeniably add texture and interest to your card. They give your card a step up in creativity. Don't you agree? I think an embossing and die cutting machine is essential to any paper craft room. What do you think?

I love the elegance that this folder adds to a card. I added tiny pearls to the centers of the flowers. You can add rhinestones, gems, or leave them plain.

My sentiment was sponged and attached using dimensionals.

I did not add a Whisper White panel to the inside of the card because the Powder Pink is very light. Still, adding the panel does make the card classy and stronger. The panel would be 5-1/4 x 4. Often times, I add them before mailing.

Delicious Fish

 Have you ever wondered what goes through a cat's mind as he is staring at an aquarium? I'd say, "Yum, delicious fish for dinner." What do you think?

Yup, you're right. He's wagging his tail and licking his lips. This is a Double Z-Fold Card. This cat has much to celebrate. Here is a closer look.

I added a swirly, orange paper clip at the bottom to help keep the card closed. The sentiment at the top keeps the panels together, but the clip helps to keep them flat. Here is the inside of the card.

Flourishing Anniversary

 Pacific Point and Early Espresso complement each other so well, I decided to marry them. You can see how they bring out the best in each other on this triple-layered anniversary card. What do you think?

Stamps:

   Pacific Point A-2, 4-1/2 x 3-1/4, 3-1/2 x 2-1/4

   Whisper White 5-3/8 x 4, 3 x 4-1/4, 3-1/4 x 2, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:

   Pacific Point

   Early Espresso

Technique:

   Triple Layering

   Dry Embossing

Accessories:

   Square Lattice Embossing Folder

   Temporary & Permanent Adhesive

First, cut all of your paper to size.

Then gather the 3 Whisper White panels and adhere them using temporary adhesive. 

Keeping them together stamp your sentiment in the center using Pacific Point.

Then stamp the flourishes around it using Early Espresso. 

After stamping, place the sheets in the Square Lattice Embossing folder and dry emboss them.

Carefully remove each one and adhere it using permanent adhesive to the correct Pacific Point matting.

These are then adhered to the Pacific Point card base. The last Whisper White panel is adhered to the inside of the card.

Birthday Butterfly

 The best thing about using brushos is that no two creations will be identical. The amount of sprinkled flakes, the amount of water, and the tilt of the paper are just a few of the variables that come into play when creating with this medium. I wanted a soft background for this butterfly. I think it worked. Thoughts?

   Balmy Blue A-2

   Watercolor 5-1/4 x 4

   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:

   Jet Black StazOn

   Brusho Crystal Colour

Technique:

   Watercolor With Brushos

Accessories:

   Basic Rhinestone Jewels

   Fast Fuse (Or Favorite Adhesive)

First, I created my background using my brusho flakes on a watercolor panel. I played around with the amount of flakes, water, and tilting of paper. I also used a paper towel to soak up water and color if it was getting out of control. When I was happy with it, I set it aside to dry.

FYI: I always make several backgrounds at one time. Remember that it is easier to add more color than to try and dilute the color.

I then stamped my large, bold butterfly, and added a few rhinestones for the body.

I stamped the sentiment on the top of the panel.

Lastly, I adhered the panel to the card base, and added the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Green Trees, Too

 Lovely as a Tree is a classic stamp set. It can be used for any occasion, any age group, and any gender. Here is a simple Thank You card I made.

   Sponging

   All Is Calm Washi Tape

   Sponge

   Adhesive

First, I sponged my sky using Soft Sky.

I then stamped the trees across the panel. I began in the middle and then added more on the sides.

I then colored my trees using markers.

I stamped my sentiment on the top-right side of the panel. I added a bit of washi tape around it to draw more attention to it.

I then adhered it to the card base and added the other Very Vanilla panel to the inside of the card.
