Cat Note OSW #4

This is card 4 of 14 using one sheet from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper Pack.

Stamps:
   Apple Blossoms

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2
   Early Espresso 2-1/4 x 2-1/2
   Painted Autumn DSP 1/2 x 2-1/2 (6)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   Punching

Accessories:
   Silver Brads (5)
   Cat Punch
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I took the 6 strips of DSP and put them together using silver brads. I created a zig-zag ladder.

I then punched out an Early Espresso cat using my cat punch.

I placed him on my card and made a light pencil mark on the bottom by his paws. I wanted to make sure the top of my ladder was going to be right where he needed to stand.

Next, I added adhesive to the top, middle, and bottom rung.

First, I glued the bottom rung. Next, I made sure the top rung was covering the pencil mark I had made, and I pressed down on it to glue it. Lastly, I pressed down on the middle rung to adhere it. The other two rungs just fall into place.

I attached my cat using dimensionals.

Finally, I added my sentiment on the top left of the card. You can easily change this to whatever you need. Or you can leave out a sentiment completely.

Here is a short video showing and explaining all 14 cards. I apologize in advance for my many senior moments.

Rainbow Birthday

Rainbows are perfect when you want to make someone smile. This card takes less than five minutes to make.

Stamps:
   Itty Bitty Greetings

Paper:
   Yo Yo Yellow
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Markers:
   Real Red
   Only Orange
   Yo Yo Yellow
   Garden Green
   Brilliant Blue
   Island Indigo
   Concord Crush

Technique:
   Clear Block Stamping

Accessories:
   Water Spritzer
   Adhesive

I used SU clear block "F". This is the largest background block.

I colored directly onto the clear block with my markers. The colors were applied in the order listed above.

I then spritzed the block and then stamped my Whisper White panel. I did leave it there for a bit to let the colors soak through the paper.

I let it air dry a bit and then stamped my sentiment using Archival Basic Black. I decided to stamp the sentiment in the Yo Yo Yellow strip. I think it shows up nicely with this color as a background. You can always add your sentiment on a small tag or banner if you prefer.

I then adhered the panel to the Yo Yo Yellow card base.

The sentiment can be changed to whatever you need: Get Well, Thinking of You, Thank You, etc.

Isn't She Lovely

I found some Valentine paper with images that reminded me of my mother and her generation. So, I decided to cut them out and use them as my focal point on a card. I added rhinestones to the cheerleader's hair. My mother used to go to the salon every week to get her hair set and styled.

Stamps:
   You're Lovely

Paper:
   Real Red A-2
Hello Honey 2-3/8" Scallop Punch (2)
Be My Valentine DSP 2" Circle Punch (2)
   Smitten Love DSP 3 x 4-1/4

Ink:
   Basic Black

Technique:
   Punching

Accessories:
   2-3/8" Scallop Punch
   2" Circle Punch
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   So Saffron Brads
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

The rhinestones remind me of the curlers in my mother's hair. I added brads to the guy so that he wouldn't feel left out and to represent curls in his hair.

I am not sure who made the DSP, or how it wound up in my possession, but I use whatever I have in my stash.
